This place is an awesome place for some clay work! The staff are very friendly and attentive. Even though I am terrible when it comes to art, their friendly advice makes me art pieces look pretty decent! Coming here with a group of friends is a lot of fun! Had a wonderful time here painting yesterday! My friend's 10 year old daughter and I really enjoyed the experience, and the staff was so very helpful and nice. I highly recommend coming here if you have been wanting to paint ceramics. We enjoyed our beverages too, that was a great treat. Looking forward to seeing our pieces: a coffee mug and two handled small bowl. They also have a small parking lot in back for customers. And, bonus, it was nice to go across the street afterwards to the dock and look at the water, fishies, boats and scenery. read more

What a warm way to begin the day! The location is stellar with water views from the large windows and in the morning the warm sun comes right in. Whoever thought to combine coffee and one of these pottery places is so clever. I had so much fun with my kids painting pottery and sipping on a latte. We just picked our pottery up and it looks really good! I love that the prices for firing and such are included in the sticker on the bottom of the item. Plus no sitting fees and no extra for different paint colors. They could have done better at having someone there to help show you how things are done or least given out a laminated page that had some basic instructions. But overall they were friendly and the place was fun. We will be coming back! read more

Truly a unique coffee venue in the state of washington. Its a wonder why no business like this has sprung up elsewhere. Who would have thought a coffee and pottery painting place would be such a brilliant idea? And often that is the nature of ideas. The coffee is actually delicious, competitive with some of the lesser (but still delicious) coffee sanctuaries of seattle, and DEFINITELY tastier than the local ones throughout the south puget sound save a few. And of course, none of them feature pottery painting. Great cup selections to paint, and many other's such as cats, dogs, f-22 tomcats (whoa!) and skulls. I can't believe this place is a unique restaurant. Its such a brilliant idea. Its a bit packed on certain days so plan on a croud. Not much to complain about. Great for an arty date. This place is great. We just moved to the area back in October. While we were trick or treating down thereI stopped in for a mocha. It was wonderful. The atmosphere is very cozy. There's a fireplace with chairs near by to keep you toasty during those cold rainy days. I've brought my friend and mother in law in to check the place out. If you decide to stay and drink your coffee you get to use one of their painted mugs. In the back they have a pottery studio with a large selection of items to paint. We also had my daughter's second birthday there. They have a room in the back away from everyone else with a large table to seat at least 20 people. The kids get to choose from an assortment on items on the wall. Also, I REALLY like the fact that your reservation fee was deducted from your total by the end of the party. Most places will just charge you a fee along with the additional painted items. And one last thing...they also gave my daughter a free plate with her friends finger prints on it. They then painted a little character with each print. I highly recommend this place. Oh, if you spend a $100 you will get $10 off your next purchase. And they offer a military discount. read more

We stopped in here today to grab drinks while walking around downtown Gig Harbor. The inside is very nicely decorated. They had a nice fireplace with big comfy chairs. We saw signs stating that they have live music on Friday and Saturday night. The drinks were just okay, not the best, but not the worst. read more

Really friendly barista and legit coffee but no music in the shop and NO WiFi. The coffee cafe is a nice, inviting space with lots and tables and a few cushy chairs next to a fireplace but it's so quiet that all you can hear is the fridge and the road traffic. This was a great place to relax, paint pottery and have some coffee. The atmosphere was great and it was one of the best places that that I have ever been to to paint pottery. They do not have a studio fee and the price is written on the bottom of the piece you pick out and they have a wide price range, and you know up front what the cost is going to be. The owners and staff are really friendly and the place is great for enjoying the day with a newspaper or a good book. Such a fun place to take the kiddos or to have a girls day! They have a great variety of clay figures to choose from and the staff is very helpful if you need help or just want some new ideas:) Possibly one of the best parts about Java Clay is that it's also a cafe so I got to drink my Red Bull spritzer and relax while the kids created their master pieces. This place deserves 10 stars!! Today my daughters and I ventured out to have some fun and boy did we!! While they sipped on italian sodas and I on my coffee, we relaxed and painted some priceless pieces;) The staff are friendly, the beverages are great and the atmosphere is very warm and welcoming. I love this place...can't wait for Date Night this Friday. They also have Girl's Night Out... For $30 Date Night is dinner, drink, and dessert. I loved it here! We drove out to Gig Harbor to have coffee and scope out a place to fish and we stumbled across this place. The location is quiet and cute. There is a pottery studio there as well which caught my eye but they were closing soon so we just ordered drinks. I ordered a vanilla chai latte with salted caramel while my boyfriend ordered a vanilla chai latte with hazelnut. They were AMAZING! Mine was way better though. I figured I could stop by before work every morning for a cup. I drive 14 miles north to Seattle for work but I figure if I take the lonnnnggg way it will only add an additional 25 miles round trip. No biggie. So worth it! ;) read more

Wonderful people! Great place! Got there and they got me settled with my pottery pieces. Took an order for me for the Coffee shop and brought it to me, which was really nice. Everyone was really helpful and more than willing to show me different ways to do my pieces! My favorite was using lace to make a beautiful design! If you have a problem they are great about helping you correct your mistake. Today was my third time in and I'm really enjoying it. Came with my grown daughters, a friend and today by myself! Weekends can be really busy since they sit right by the water but I think they still do a great job! Try them out! read more
