Very disappointed. Spoke to Jass about what I needed and wanted. Please get rid of the weeds on a weekly basis. Told him he can spray weed killer. He agreed. He started doing yard maintenance in early April. In July, I texted him that the weeds on the front lawn are getting out of control, please take care of it. He said ok. A week later, he calls (keep in mind he has a STRONG middle eastern accent, so in general it's somewhat difficult to communicate) and says those weeds have been there since he started (which doesn't really matter, except they hadn't been there that long) and he won't spray again since he already fertilized the lawn. That's it, he never came back. Everyone knows it's very easy to mow a lawn, however, the weeds are the issue, which is why I made sure he understood from the beginning that was my main concern. He understood this and was charging me $40 a week. He usually showed up late evening on Friday and was here for no more than an hour. DO NOT HIRE HIM read more

A broken sprinkler system in the dead heat of a Sacramento summer is a serious situation and needs to be treated as such, amiright?? I was really struggling to find someone who could repair our old galvanized sprinklers, so was relieved when Baldev at Jass Gardening returned my call right away and came over to check things out. I'd recommend getting a quote from another landscaper before dealing with Jass. Their work is decent, but you can get a better from other guys. The first job I had them do was relatively overpriced, but I just wanted it done and went with it. On the second job, Jass and his wife attempted to pressure me and justify the inflated cost of the quote. It is also very hard to understand them through their thick accent. Refused to provide anything in writing We were very excited to work with this company for the leveling and drainage of our yard. They came to our house and gave a free estimate, they estimated a great price and we made an appointment for the work to be done. However, in the week leading up to the appointment, we asked for the estimate to be put into writing, and we kept getting the run around. We are a young couple who just bought our first house. We had heard stories from many people to be careful when dealing with verbal contracts. So in order to protect ourselves we wanted what was going to be done to our yard to be put into writing. We wanted to be sure that what we planned would be done and for the price that was agreed upon. This man came out and gave me an estimate and was supposed to come maintain my lawn biweekly. He asked that I have the dog poo cleaned up which is fine but I explained I work two jobs so I would need to know which days he was planning to come so I could clean before he came to make sure it was picked up. He came one time and charged me $125 for initial clean up of a lawn that was not that overgrown because it was barely starting to come back to life from not being watered over summer but I paid it because I wanted my lawn maintained. He then came back one time for maintenance for which I paid $25 on Feb 22nd. He text me on Friday March 6th while I was working out of town and said I'm coming tonight because it's supposed to rain this weekend and I replied that I wasn't sure if I'd be home in time to clean up the dog poo (because it was last minute) and later text him I was getting back into town late from travel and heard no response. I text him the following week (last weekend) and asked if he'd be coming because I was concerned about rain again since he didn't come last weekend because of rain and didn't want the lawn to get too overgrown and he didn't reply. I just text him again today and asked if he could come this week since I'm working from home and can make sure the scat is cleaned up before he comes and he called me and said he'd have to charge me more for another initial clean up because it's been 3 weeks and now it's overgrown! Then he blamed me for cancelling when he text on a Friday and I was ALREADY OUT OF TOWN! I'm amazed at the low level of communication. He never set a specific date he'd come so I could prepare the back yard to ensure poo was cleaned up, has text me last minute that he was coming and then to blame me saying I was the one who cancelled. It honestly seems like this guy just wants to take your money because he was supposed to come every other week and only came once after the initial clean up now he's trying to get more money for the same job when he's the one who couldn't make it because of the rain...of course it's going to rain during the Spring season but you can't message me last minute that you're coming THAT NIGHT when I work, expect me to be home when you text to clean dog poo and then if you won't come do your work because of rain you can't charge me more for postponing. We called to get an estimate for a one time clean up for our very overgrown backyard. It was just too much for us to handle and we wanted a fresh start for the upcoming summer season. I called after 5pm, and he was able to come out the next day to give us a very reasonable price quote. It was raining pretty heavily off and on for the day that they we had originally scheduled for the work to be done, but they kept in contact with us, and were able to come the next clear day and make quick work of our yard with their professional grade equipment. This is my second time using Jass and they did not disappoint. I installed a new Rachio sprinkler unit and it should have been plug and play. However, after installation, the 3 zones in my backyard would not turn on. They were working fine before.After much trouble shooting I called a sprinkler repair company. Their quote came in at $600 to replace 3 zone units and rewire. That was not in my budget. And I know that most of my equipment definitely did not need to be replaced. So I remembered Jass. Not only did he answer right away, he came over within the hour. Not only did he say that the wiring and valves Did Not need to be replaced, he also showed me exactly what was wrong and what needed to be replaced. It took him about 40 mins to fix it with us chit chatting about the sprinklers in between. And all for about a tenth of the cost of the other company.
