I called and told them how big my yard was 1/3 or an acre and sent pictures. My husband said it was small and that our entire lot was smaller than a 1/4 acre. I also sent pictures. I was told, in writing, that it would be $225.00 to cut and rake up all the dead grass and weeds and whatever did not fit in our yard waste bin, they would take and dispose of. If I chose to have them spray an eco-friendly weed control the cost would be $250. They came by and looked at the yard and my husband and son told them it was not a 1/4 acre because our entire lot was less than an acre. They sent back another quote and said it would be $350 and the eco friendly weed control control would bring the price up to $375. They kept flaking when they said they'd show up, so, after doing some research, I called Xtreme who was super responsive, professional - gave me a fair quote and committed to being there within a couple of days. The payment was easy even though I'm out of state and they sent before/after pics so I could confirm the work was done before paying. Awful! Came out to my house, quoted the job. $450 front and backyard cleanup and haul away. Sent me his schedule. I accepted. We take time off if work so be can come out. Gets here, we let him know we need to focus on the back first so he starts on the front. Works in the back for about 15 minutes and says "its too much of a job, I am not going to do it". Then says he will only charge us $150 for the front. No way! We took time off of work, you already had been out to see the job, you asked us to do a portion of the trees for you since you didnt have the equipment, which we did and then you didnt even bring a trailer to haul anything away in. You wanted to use our green waste which is fine, but this job was much larger than a green waste bin and you knew it! Do not use this guy. They came out when promised and did a decent job. Some of the crabgrass that is there was not really cut, but more strip and flattened. A couple of areas near a raised brick planter was not trimmed/edged. Also the green waste garbage can was full, so they decided to leave a few piles of the cut grass in the gutter and street. Extremely disappointed. David asked for payment to be paid in advance each month, which I did through PayPal. I asked David to handle 4 properties. He was good for a couple months and then I started hearing from my tenants David was not showing up consistently. Several weeks after hearing he had not shown up, I called David on another property that was not done and he said his truck broke down and he would not bill me for that week. I then went back the two following weeks and no work was done. I went back two more times over the next couple weeks to the same property and nothing had been done. I called David and he said he was no longer doing landscaping. Keep in mind this was three weeks after I originally called him, so my rentals had no service for three weeks and I had to call David to find out he had closed his business. David waited to tell me he was no longer in business until after I paid the $255 monthly service fee for services to come. David said we would send the $255 I paid and he never did. When I called David three weeks later he said that I owed him money. I shared with David he was paid at the beginning of each month automatically with Paypal. I showed David the proof he was paid and then he began to say he was not paid for other work done. I showed proof of that as well. I asked David to send me documentation of any unpaid invoices. He refused to do so and said he owed me $90. David said he would have his book keeper call to discuss and she never called. When we called her there was no response. I asked multiple times for any documentation to show he was not paid and he refused to send anything. When I said I would take him to small claims court, he said that was fine as he already filed bankruptcy. David will sound sincere when you speak with him, but believe me he is not honest. I am extremely disappointed in the professionalism and character. Do not trust David. As for painting lawns, I had this done and it looked great the first four weeks and then turned a an aqua blue. Looks horrible. David was not honest in terms of how long it lasts. The other one star review below David dismisses as he does not do business in SF. What he does not realize is the writer lived in San Francisco and wrote the definition for a property they owned that David serviced in the Sacramento area. Do yourself a favor stay away. Don't believe a word David says. I am sure he will try to dismiss this review too. read more
