I've seen and heard from many of my neighbors of the terrible job quality, contractors walking out without completing their jobs, or breaking contractual agreements. Couple of my neighbors went with lowest bidder and both ended up paying more to get the original work fixed and/or completed. So, we just recently purchased a home in one of the new communities in Spencer's Crossing in Murrieta. With a brand new home, comes the cool opportunity to design and create your own customized backyard. Due to the amount of investment to complete this type of project, we just wanted to make sure that not only the job gets done right the first time, but also find someone that will help us design and deliver a beautiful backyard. Enter Tony, owner of AM Custom Concrete & Design. He is equipped with both licenses C-8 (concrete) and C-27 (landscaping). He was my 3rd guy I interviewed for the job and immediately knew he was my guy because of his deep knowledge, attention to detail, and lived locally. These guys don't know what they're doing most of the time. I rented from a property management…read morecompany that used Rivco as their primary handymen/contractor, so I've had a lot of experience with them and their repairs. This company does not conduct themselves like professionals. They show up late, cancel/reschedule at the last minute, and on one occasion didn't show up and didn't respond to multiple calls until two days later. When they do arrive, it's common for them not to be ready to work even though they've been there before and know what needs to be done. I have so many stories about their shoddy repairs, but I'll just focus on one to give you an example of their incompetence. For a single leak in the bathtub that was causing damage to our wall they set 14 appointments with us. No, that's not a typo. 14 separate appointments over six months. More than half of those were for them to come in, take pictures, and inspect the damage (even though we sent them pictures by email). They sent four different guys to look at it and they didn't share pictures with each other, so each guy had to assess and take pictures of the damage all over again. Why? Why? It's just a effing leak! Two times they made repairs and said it was fixed only for us to have the same problem a few months later. After one fix they brought in loud, high powered fans to run all weekend to dry out the moisture on the wall. On another similar fix apparently no fans were needed? It was so ridiculous that we brought in another plumber to check it out. He said he could have the work done in a day from start to finish. I can't even describe the insane amount stress this company has caused my wife and I over the years. They kept calling her at work to schedule appointment after appointment, while I had to take off work early to let them in just to watch them do nothing to repair the problem. They weren't our contractor, so we couldn't just fire them get another company to work on it. The leak needed to be fixed, so we had to put up with them bumbling around. It was obvious they didn't know anything about plumbing. One guy even asked me where the leak was coming from. Uh, somewhere in the pipe? How would I know, dude. Isn't that your job? You're the supposed to be the professional. Keep in mind that this was just one repair of many. If you value your sanity and care about the condition of your property I wouldn't work with this company ever.
