Dr Deblinger is just fantastic. It's the first time in my many years of getting extensive dental work that the entire experience was terrific. Root canals are not fun but Dr Deblinger could not have made the experience any easier or more comfortable. I was amazed at how easy the whole appointment went. He was really careful to ensure I was entirely numb before starting the work which I really appreciated. It was very generous of him to wait until the block was fully effective. At the onset, please let me state I am a dentist. I have no conflict of interest in any of Dr. Jason Deblinger's practice. The only interest I have is getting the word out that he's one of the best practitioners out there. I am the recipient of two root canals by Dr. Deblinger. The process of a root canal brings on more fear than it should. Perhaps it's the word "root canal" and perhaps it's the fact that it's coupled by actually going to the dentist, I don't know. What I do know, and can tell you- is that when you ultimately need root canal therapy (RCT), do consider having the procedure completed by a specialist like Dr. Deblinger. Many general dentists can complete RCT with no problem, and that's fine. However, Dr. Deblinger's sole practice is performing RCTs. His procedures are also completed with ultra sensitive magnification. These scopes are critical in endodontics, and I would never have one competed on myself or my family without one. It's similar in medicine. If I have a skin issue, I am happy to goto my family practitioner- but most often I prefer to see a dermatologist. I have the same thoughts on needing a root canal. I had amalgam fillings that I changed over to white composite. Eventually there was sensitivity and it continued to worsen, and eventually become "non-vital"- thus needing RCT. Dr. Deblinger was referred to me by one of my best friends (who is also an Endodontist in San Diego). Dr. Deblinger's great reputation extends far outside New York. I was told his work and chair side manner were exemplary. It is true. Because I am a dentist, I know how the "textbook" final root canal should appear. Not only were my cases completed with such perfection- he also made me feel comfortable and calm. I credit him so much because he has the skill and personality to make a tough procedure feel as if you're at a spa. No joke. The word "specialist" in dentistry means that a dentist has completed and been certified by an authorized university or hospital to perform work in their respective speciality. A specialist has gone beyond years of dental school with training at a hospital or university, and has a specialty license. If you're wanting a specialist, look for that certificate, and be mindful of certificates given by weekend courses. A speciality certificate from a weekend course is NOT the same as a specialty certificate from a hospital or university. Hundreds apply each year for a small number of positions in specialty programs at hospitals or universities. Weekend courses award certificates to whomever attends, finishes, and pays for the course. With Dr. Deblinger focus on the word "special"- because he AND his work truly are special. read more

I needed three root canals for the bridge work my dentist, Dr. Curatola, was preparing and he ONLY insisted that I see Dr. Deblinger. Today I arrived at Dr Jason's office miserably, with a terrible toothache, my lower right premolar, the painkillers were no longer working. My head, my scalp, my ear, my neck and all my teeth hurt, it was 7 days of intense pain. I believe that the pain has existed since 2018, which has gradually increased. Today I met first time Dr Jason, in 25 minutes I felt a deep relief, I even got emotional, all the pain disappeared. I was referred to Dr. Deblinger by my dentists. I needed an apical done and I was worried since I am getting married in under 2 months. I wasn't sure if it would hurt or how quickly I would heal. I am happy to report that the surgery was a success and I didn't even need to take amoxicillan. I healed so fast that doctor was impressed. He did such a great job with the incision and stitches. I can't even tell that I had dental surgery. Dr. Deblinger is very caring, funny and down to earth. He made me feel very comfortable. I'm a pretty lazy person. And honestly, I didn't want to write this review. As an avid Yelp user myself, I recognize that my profile probably looks suspicious: I have no friends, no photos, and no "Elite" status to my name. I'm what you'd call a lurker--someone who just reads and depends on the trustworthiness of others' experiences, rather than taking the time to pen my own. Sorry. I also know that a Yelp page like Dr. Deblinger's, where every review is brimming with praise and a repeat of 5/5 stars, is also considered suspicious, as people question whether some of these people are being paid to leave glowing reviews. However, Dr. Deblinger really is *that* good. My case was undoubtedly a tough one, since I developed an abscess in a mere two weeks after having obtained a brand new crown. There were two goals for the root canal: 1) Don't destroy my brand new crown, and 2) Treat the abscess. Long story short - my experience was so simple, so quick, so painless, that having my semi-annual teeth cleaning feels more like a hassle in comparison. I just came back from my 6-month post-op x-ray, and everything is still looking good. This doc knows what he's doing, and he's excellent. As hard as it is to be enthusiastic about having to have an emergency root canal, I can say I was "lucky" enough to have been referred to Dr. Deblinger, and moreover that he was able to squeeze me in same day. Can I give extra stars?? I agree with all the other reviewers here -- Dr. Deblinger is amazing! I've had two other root canals previously before coming to his practice. Both were done by regular dentists and the experience was not good. I had found that it's gotten difficult for dentists to get my teeth to go numb and stay numb, so I actually felt the prior root canals pretty much throughout the procedures, and then had a tougher recovery. I was resigned to my fate. But Dr. D knew just what to do, no problems at all getting my tooth and jaw to go numb. I never felt a thing. Plus they gave me a neck pillow and Beats headphones so I could listen to my playlist the whole time. Following the root canal, I was fine with a couple of Advil for a few days. Then nothing was required. If I ever have to do this again, I know who's doing the root canal! read more

Yes Dr. Deblinger is one of the best in his field and i'd even say that he is the very best Endodontist in NYC. I would describe Mr Deblinger as a perfectionist who is only satisfied if he can give the best services and care to his patients. The staff at the desk is utmost friendly, professional and discrete. Also his dental assistant is a wonderful help too. Mr Deblinger works only with the latest technology and can do your root canal within 10 min. Your appointment in total might take up to 20 min plus a little bit waiting time before your treatment starts. Most likely this should be your last appointment and your root canal is fully finished or if the root canal was very inflamed he will wait a week for you until it's healed and you would come back one last time to get the root canal finished for good. I hope everyone could get the chance to have the opportunity to receive such excellent services as performed by Dr. Deblinger. He is indeed the best Endodontist and deserves five stars. Moreover he treats his patients absolutely equally whether you are prominent ;) or not. He has a wonderful work attitude and very good manners. Furthermore he never forgets anything. I live in fear of dentists and hearing that I needed a root canal was the worst thing you could have told me. After they pried me off the ceiling at Worldwide Plaza Dental and sent me on my way to Dr. Deblinger I could barely stop shaking. And then I walked into the office, met his staff and found myself almost irrationally calm. Everyone there is amazing and kind and puts you right at ease. My biggest fear is the needle and Dr. Deblinger made it fast and was as soothing as possible. (Ladies he's easy on the eyes too which frankly doesn't hurt...). He talks through the procedure so you're not as aware of the drill and works quickly, efficiently and makes sure you are always comfortable. Love the nice touch of the individual bottle of poland spring to rinse. He's expensive as all hell and doesn't take insurance (although they will submit a reimbursement request to your insurance company) but he's worth every penny. Dr. Deblinger is a superstar and saved me! I was experiencing a great deal of pain from a root canal I knew I needed but I was waiting to get an appointment with my dentist for 6 weeks. Dr. Deblinger literally took me right away as soon as I called and I headed right over to his office and was taken immediately. His staff are warm, friendly and efficient. The office is very high tech and you even get Bluetooth headphones and a neck pillow during the whole procedure! My tooth was very infected but Dr. Deblinger was very gentle and made me as comfortable as possible and prescribed me antibiotics and saw me again in a week to finish the root canal. I was a very nervous patient and he put me at ease and performed the procedure so quickly! I can honestly say I would never go to another endo! He is literally the BEST in NYC!!! He answers any questions you have and him and his staff follow up to check on you after. Plus you get to keep some cool sunglasses! Where to begin.....If you need a root canal, go to Dr. Jason Deblinger, don t question it, just go!!! My first experience, he saved me!!! I can't thank him enough. If you know root canal pain, you know what I'm talking about. I went to another physician , the other endodontist was a teacher at NYU, older,cranky about coming in on the weekend, and made me wait until Monday!!!! And, he missed a canal, yep, severe pain all over again!!! The pain never left, the endodontist, rushed and was a bit sloppy, I'de say. Anyhow, thankfully, Dr. Kellen Mori (an amazing amazing dentist on the UES) referred me to Dr. Deblinger. Again, she connected me with him asap, no waiting, and he imediately responded to the call. He scheduled me ASAP, no waiting, no complaining about leaving whatever he was doing on the weekend, and he relieved my pain, he completed the root canal. Dr. Deblinger used modern technology and immediately spotted the extra canal that needed to be cleaned out, (that the other endodontist missed ) He finished the root canal for me and the entire time it was pain free. He kept asking me if I was ok, and my comfort level. And, he called me at home, to make sure I was recovering well. Who does that this day and age, come on??? He did!!! So, the reason I'm writing this review is because my dear friend had a similar situation, an emergent root canal...and I sent her to Dr. Deblinger, and again he responded immediately, he met her at his office on Sunday night at 7:45-8:00pm!!! Dr. Deblinger may have actually saved my life. I was in excruciating pain due to a problem crown for months and had gone to another endodontist and other dental experts repeatedly and had been told that I did not need a root canal. Based on his expertise and investment in top-notch X-ray equipment, he discovered that I had an abscess and needed an emergency root canal on the spot, which was executed flawlessly. Forget everything you have ever heard about the horrors of a Root Canal! Dr. Deblinger (Jason) was unbelievable. He is a master at his craft and it is 100% worth going to this root canal specialist!! The entire process was a breeze. First of all scheduling was so simple and flexible, I kept putting the appointment off due to a busy work schedule (despite my tooth killing me and throbbing at night) but Dr. D kept checking in to see what time worked for me. Finally I broke down and and agreed to a 2:30 appointment. I was in the Chair at 2:31! The office was easy to get to, and find (First Floor). The office staff are all very friendly and moved through the process quickly and efficiently. The equipment is state of the art and very clean. They offered Bluetooth headphones to sync to my phone if i wanted to listen to music during the process. The first step was the X-ray which was fast and very detailed with his fancy equipment. My tooth was cracked open and Dr. D said I definitely needed a root canal and began the process very quickly. He numbed the area of my mouth with a swab before giving me the needle to fully numb the area. This resulted in ZERO PAIN, he kept telling me to let him know if something hurt, but NOTHING did. He got the root out and filled in the tooth within an hour without any pain. The hardest part of the process was not being able to respond to his conversation. He is a perfectionist and kept refinishing the the filling until it was perfect. I am still in shock at how easy and pain free the whole process was, I waited a week before I wrote this review because I thought maybe the pain was coming, but it didnt and i never even took the Tylenol he gave me after the visit. He even followed up, both his staff/office via email and he personally sent me a text. Dr. Deblinger was highly recommended by my dentist, Dr. Tabib, who told me that I possibly needed root canal therapy, I refused to believe it. Even after I went to see Dr. Deblinger for evaluation I still refused to believe that I needed root canal! So I went through the weekend and hoped that the pain would go away! And of course as Dr. Deblinger had advised: it won't go away it would only get worse. By Monday morning I couldn't wait to pick up the phone and called his office. I was scheduled for the same day in the afternoon. I was so nervous and anxious. But let me tell you, if you read all the reviews here, they are all true and correct. I wish I wasn't so stubborn and took his words right away! I would have avoided a painful weekend! Dr. Deblinger assured me over and over that the procedure will be painless and that I would be free of pain as soon as it is over! And he was correct. The whole procedure for my one tooth took less than half of an hour! I did not feel a thing! The procedure was so painless and easy! Now 5 hours after, I'm no longer numb and the Novocain has faded, yet I barely feel any pain! The tooth itself is still sore of course but so happy I am no longer suffering the throbbing tooth pain!! After a routine check-up, I was told I had a growing infection on top of my root canal and needed gum surgery. Naturally, my heart was pounding and became extremely nervous of the words "cut open my gums & surgery. I was referred to Dr. Jason Deblinger and called immediately. Not only was I accepted with open arms on the phone but they scheduled an appointment for me the same day. From the moment I stepped into the office, I was treated like family. The amazing staff ( especially Nicole ) put me at ease instantly. When I met Dr. Deblinger I knew immediately I was in great hands. We ran some tests and calmed me down ( trust me I need calm! ). This is a person who needs sweet gas just for a cleaning! He was so understanding with such patience & wonderful bedside manners! .....A true professional in every way. It turns out that I didn't need surgery ( thanks to his modern equipment ) but a re-do of my root canal.
