This review is posted in behalf of Marie Vander vliet in her own words…read more I hired Fleming Construction to replace a septic system in my back yard that had gone bad. Before hand I requested that any other part of the property that was damaged in the process was to be returned to its original condition upon completion. When they were finished they left the property in a mess with my gardens destroyed and driveway deeply rutted.I am a 98 year old widow that is legally blind and lives alone, so walking around my property became dangerous. I called Kevin many times in an effort to get the property cleaned up with no response. Finally I got a call back with a dismissive tone that I found very insulting and he begrudgingly fixed some of the damage. Ive learned that when you are old and a woman people tend to take advantage of you and believe this is one of those situations. I am deeply dissatisfied and would never recommend this company to anyone. So please beware !

Fleming construction did a huge renovation to my house - indoors and out. Kitchen, bathroom,…read moresiding, windows, roof, deck, front steps, portico build, fireplace, took out a sliding glass door - list goes on... Some of the work his own guys did and some was sub-contracted. His guys were on site every single day and handled every conversation with the sub-contractors... and let me tell you - they were tough on the subs - if they were not happy they were all over it. The tile work done by their sub-contractor is amazing and included a complex design in the front hall to get a "tile rug" look - he quickly realized the design as laid out at the tile store was too small for the space and re-designed it on the fly - I get compliments from everyone that walks into my house. I have renovated 2 homes now and realize that either you want it cheap or you want it right. If you want it cheap - move on - Fleming is not your company... if you want it right - still fair pricing - but you want quality craftspeople - expect to pay for them - then go with Fleming.

We hired this company to do a major kitchen renovation. There were some things they did well, like…read moreinstalling cabinets and removing a wall. However, when we decided to go with hard wood countertops, instead of purchasing butcher block or solid wood for us, they decided to make it themselves with planks of wood glued to plywood. After a month, the countertop they made started warping. After several attempts at calling them without a response, we ended up replacing it with Quartz and eating the cost. They also ruined my hard wood floor in the dining room while they were renovating, attempted to refinish it and ended up staining it. I now have to have the whole first floor refinished. I would never use their services again.

BEWARE OF THIS CONTRACTOR! We were looking to expand the 2nd story of our home. The contract was…read morewritten up in a typical fashion with an initial deposit and the rest of the payment due upon completion of the project. These guys worked for over a week and barely accomplished anything! During the demolition, two unrelated spaces (a hallway and bedroom) suffered major ceiling damage. One of the crew members actually fell through the ceiling of that unrelated bedroom. Without engineer approval, they even cut chunks out of a major Micro-Lam support beam, compromising the structural integrity of our home! They were supposed to add an additional Micro-Lam support beam on the other side of the room and instead used a sandwich of old used boards! After finally starting construction on the 1st wall, the contractor immediately began demanding the rest of the funds for the project, which was not as contracted. We would have been crazy to pay 100% of the cost with this job nowhere even near completion. When speaking with the crew members, (one of them being the contractor's own son) they informed us that they had gone unpaid for the duration of the project, and that the contractor spent the deposit on personal, unrelated expenses. The contractor and crew walked off the job, took their tools, and left us with a completely exposed, open roof. We had to act quickly as rain was imminent. We hired another local contractor with a much larger crew and tons more experience to finish the job, which only took them two days. The damages suffered include the loss of our deposit, major damage to the ceilings of the nearby bedroom and hallway (which were not contracted work areas), damage to the main support structure of the 2nd story of our home, additional costs to have an engineer redesign the support structure, the cost to jack up the house and replace that ridiculous wooden sandwich they created with a real Micro-Lam support beam, damages to the first floor of the home (including electrical damage) due to heavy rains passing right through their cheap tarps, as well as all the frustration and lost time associated with all of this. Then, to add insult to injury, a few days after the contractor and crew disappeared, he returned without warning while my wife and I were at work and entered the home (the doors were locked) to snoop around and take photographs for some reason. You can imagine how uneasy this would make anyone feel. As per our experience, I wouldn't recommend this contractor to my worst enemy, let alone anyone else!
