Everything about Jasmine is amazing! She's a beautiful human inside and out who encourages dancers to feel confident and have fun. Her energy is super positive and she's always open to questions and comments as we go through class. We've tried one other teacher before but in Jasmine's classes it is the first time I feel confident to mess up and it will be ok. She is kind and patient and the culture she creates supports this energy. We've been taking her classes for just shy of a year and it's been so much fun in our lives. The people in class, the community she's cultivated, and the overall vibe is seriously just so much best! It is $25 for drop in or $20 per class if you do the whole series, usually about 8 weeks. She offers classes in Santa Rosa, Petaluma, and Larkspur each week. She also puts on dances throughout the year between Marin and Sonoma county which are a great opportunity to mix and mingle within the community and flex your moves! I'm being gushy but it's been such a fun addition to our lives, I just love the vibes so much! Thanks Jasmine (& Tony) for being so awesome! read more

i'm taking a swing class. I was really nervous at first, but Jasmine makes fun and I'm so glad I found this glass.

Going to Jasmine's Lindy Hop classes is one of the highlights of my week. She has kind, positive energy that sets the perfect mood for beginners to get acclimated and makes sure everyone is welcomed, included, progressing, and (most importantly) having fun. If you're having any doubts about trying something new (or getting back into the "swing" of things...), don't hesitate to join one of the lindy hop sessions. You won't regret it! read more

Jasmine is an amazing dance instructor. My fiancé at the time and I felt extremely comfortable and felt that she went the perfect pace for us and really gave us what we were looking for in a first dance! Booking with Jasmine was extremely easy, although book early because her availability fills up really fast! She's is very accommodating and such a nice person! We danced to a mash up by Rick Hale "Fly me to the moon/lucky" where Jasmine helped us incorporate some fox trot and swing moves with lots of spins and twirls to make things exciting! And her signature dip is beautiful and makes for wonderful photos! We really loved working with her and would recommend anyone looking to choreograph or learn a few dance moves for your wedding to go to Jasmine! We truly can't thank you enough for making our first dance one to always cherish and remember! read more

Jasmine is a professional dancer, and a really, really good instructor. Steps, techniques, music, floor time, and and positive vibes are great. But the real get!? Complete the first course and know you BELONG on the dance floor. Seriously, you can dance now. Better than most, and with a big 'ol grin. Go forth and frolic! read more

Jasmine's energy is consistent, personable, and without judgement. She makes learning fun, discusses the challenge of staying in our bodies when we are learning new things, and make every 'step' lots of FUN. I was hesitant initially, and have never looked back. accessible, humbling, and a great way to keep growing in new areas.. Check it out! read more

No words can describe how amazing Jasmine is!! This was our first time EVER learning how to dance, and Jasmine was such a wonderful teacher! She is incredibly patient, encouraging and always so upbeat and positive! My now husband was a faster and more confident learner than I was, and Jasmine was still able to gently get me up to his level without ever making me feel like I was bad at dancing (which we both secretly knew I was) LOL. Jasmine helped choreograph a swing dance for us, teaching us the moves in three months. She really understood our dancing limitations and still made the choreography look amazing/professional. Everyone at our wedding was incredibly impressed!! I can't wait for our wedding dance video to come out, and will definitely include a link here once its ready. In the meantime, book her ASAP. We always had to book in advance bc her schedule filled up so quickly! read more

Jasmine is a one of a kind instructor. She loves to dance and it shows! Her classes are such a welcoming environment--the highlight of my week! She is able to break everything down easily and clearly with a perfect flow of new material so you can keep coming back. She encourages community as well so it is a great place to meet people and meet up for social dancing outside of class. read more

Thanks to Jasmine, we went from zero to awesome in 6 months! My husband and I took private lessons with Jasmine almost every week before our wedding because we were terrified of having to do our "first dance" without knowing how to dance. Like, we literally knew nothing about dancing. My then-fiancé could only dance like an awkward nerd, and I couldn't even clap to a beat. Nonetheless, I had this ridiculously ambitious dream of doing a killer dance with aerials at our wedding, and we did just that! Our wedding guests were floored by our performance. I'll let her work speak for itself. Here's a short link to our wedding "first dance" on YouTube (so you can type it into your browser): bit.ly/JasmineWeddingDance Jasmine was responsible for the dance in that video, from start to finish. She taught us Lindy hop and East coast swing, and then helped us put all the moves we learned together into a performance. But that wasn't the half of it, because for the moves to LOOK good, we had to also learn performance skills. Proper posture, facial expressions, hand/arm flourishes...etc. As I said, I was not only a complete newbie, but someone who is historically terrible at dancing. Learning enough of this in 6 months to pull off a performance in front of EVERYONE we know was a feat to be sure! About Jasmine: she is super sweet, organized, and punctual. Importantly, she is passionate about dance and really knows her stuff. We're both scientists and technical people, so we asked a lot of questions about the intricacies of dance (as opposed to just being able to "feel" it like most people apparently do) and she was able to break the dances down into their fundamental pieces for us. She was really patient with me and my lack of rhythm, but also succeeded at making the lessons extremely fun for us! We ended up loving Jasmine so much that we invited her to our wedding, and we're so glad she was there to see the fruits of our labor in person. I'm so thankful to Jasmine for being so wonderful to us. I still can't believe I actually got to have the first dance I was dreaming of! It was a dream come true for sure. My only regret is that we moved away and can't continue to attend her events. :( Bottom line: Jasmine comes with the highest of recommendations if you're looking to learn the dances she specializes in. She's a wonderful person and offers a great price, so you really can't go wrong. read more

Absolutely choose Jasmine for your dance instructions. She built our 3 minute first dance routine and walked us through every aspect of it in a single 2 hour lesson. She adjusted everything to our comfort level and desires for overall style. We could not be happier with everything that she did for us. The dance went perfectly on the night of the wedding only 2 weeks after our lesson. Thank you Jasmine! read more

I treated myself to Jasmine's dance classes during the pandemic and it was one of my COVID silver linings. She is a natural, gentle teacher that makes learning fun and stress free. We rotate partners and no partner needed so a great way to meet new people. She keeps adding new moves and keeps the class moving. We also used Jasmine to help choreograph a first Dance for our wedding last year. She quickly helped assess our level, helped my husband learn some simple moves, and made that first dance fun and memorable. Highly recommend Jasmine for both classes and private work. Just do it! read more

Jasmine is a wonderful teacher! We can't thank her enough for our wedding dance routine. She is so great to work with.

Jasmine is amazing with the tricks of her trade. She is incredibly talented, not only in sharing her love for dancing, but in her style and communication to make you feel at ease. She leveraged our strengths, in spite of my husband not being a dancer, and gently worked through our weaknesses to build a first dance routine that was both charming and endearing to watch. Jasmine made my husband feel comfortable enough to overcome his stage fright and gave me an opportunity to follow. She gave us the tools to create an 'un-choreographed' dance while still adding flourishes for entertainment. Most importantly, we had a lot of fun doing it and people cannot stop raving about it! read more

Jasmine is the best! Having a real wedding dance was really important for us, but neither of us had any real dancing experience. Jasmine worked with us to build choreography to our all 3.5 minutes of our song (Death of a Bachelor) that was interesting and varied. She kept our personalities and goals in mind when choreographing our dance, giving us opportunities for some funny moments, and also helping us get multiple lifts and other impressive moves in there! We loved working with her for our wedding so much that we jumped at the chance afterward to work with her more, just for fun to learn more dancing. read more

After a conversation some months ago wherein my partner and I were daydreaming about dance classes we might like to take "someday", we decided to make good on those hypotheticals by signing up for a month of beginning East Coast swing dance lessons with Jasmine in San Anselmo. Lemme tell ya - if you're thinking about it, do it. Jasmine is a wonderful dance instructor and welcoming-environment-cultivator, and I recommend her without reservations. She is warm, knowledgeable, clear, kind, and incredibly skilled. Jasmine's ability to modulate her teaching to her audience is remarkable - she meets you where you are with encouragement and insight. She is truly an expert in her craft! Don't sleep on signing up - she's got a wide array of offerings to meet any number of your dancin' needs. :) read more

We just finished our 3rd lesson with Jasmine, and WOW! My fiance and I have little to no experience dancing, but with Jasmine's amazing instruction, expert eye, and A LOT of patience with us (haha) we now feel confident that our first dance will be fun and beautiful! She gave us the perfect amount of instruction and expertly added moves to our dance as she gauged our ability and confidence throughout our lessons. We strongly recommend Jasmine to anyone looking to learn how to dance for any occasion or reason! She will not disappoint! Jasmine came highly recommended to us by our wedding planner. From our initial call, we could tell that Jasmine was extremely personable and that we were going to get along great. On that call, she got a feel for who we were as a couple and what we were looking for out of a first dance (something that made us look competent and coordinated, but not highly choreographed). As a gay couple, we wanted to have a dance that was romantic and fun, but without all of the dips and spins that you might see in a more traditional first dance. At our first lesson, Jasmine came to our house prepared with various ideas. She was very patient as we got our bearings and was always super supportive and encouraging while offering up different moves for things that weren't quite flowing. She recorded us and left us with the instructions to practice - which we did. We went to her studio in San Francisco for the second lesson a few months later. Directions and parking were very easy and we simply fine tuned the moves and added an ending to the dance. We loved working with Jasmine and would do so again in a heartbeat. Our first dance went perfectly on our wedding day and we received so many compliments, not to mention this was a fun experience for us as a couple. read more

I have been taking Swing and Lindy classes with Jasmine for several months. Many of the people I was dancing with recommended I try her classes. I am so glad I did! I have taken classes at other studios and venues throughout the Bay Area and have to say Jasmine`s classes are AWESOME:) She is patient, humorous, spellbindingly fluid as a dancer herself and demanding (in a good way). She knows what good dancing looks and feels like and wants us to embody that for ourselves. Her demonstrations are inspiring and she gives us plenty of time to figure out the details AND reviews those moves the next week so we can gradually develop a menu of fun options for social dances. Not only do you get Jasmine as a teacher but you also get a lively community of her students as fellow-dancers who will encourage you to join them at other venues throughout the Bay Area. read more

A couple of years ago I treated my girlfriend to a date night dance lesson. This was quite brave of me because my dance experience is limited to spastic off tempo movements only appropriate for Bar Mitzvahs. That's when we met Jasmine. She patiently helped me through Hotline Bling on endless repeat and by the end, I understood what a beat was. I could even dance by moving my feet and not just bobbing my head. My girlfriend appreciated the date and she apparently saw other good qualities in me, so when I proposed, she said yes. Suddenly I was stuck with the most horrifying thing I could possibly imagine - a first dance. We called up Jasmine again and gave her a challenge - could she get us ready to dance to "Let's Get Married" by Bleachers in a couple of months? Most people choose slow songs, but if I was going to dance, I wanted some juice! There's no point in boring the friends, relative, and people who generally tolerate us. The first few lessons were learning some basic moves, a twirl here, a spin there. Before long we were linking them together. And I was dancing (I guess I should say "we" but really my fiancé was a natural and didn't need as much instruction.) As I gained confidence I started revealing my true desires - during our first dance I wanted to put my bride in as many life threatening situations as possible. Gotta keep things interesting. It was game-on! We practiced deep dips and swing sets. We incorporated a cherry drop. Jasmine let me drop her on a hard floor multiple times, so I didn't drop my fiancé. We were practicing on concrete. By the day of our wedding, we let loose dancing. What I first thought would be terrifying was exhilarating! Every so often we heard a giant cheer come from family and friends as we completed the next dance move. Our dance went off without a hitch and I managed to not injure my wife at all. Through all the lessons Jasmine was always punctual, upbeat, and informative. Our style of dancing was informal, so she was informal, but she knows dancing quite well. I can't imagine having a better wedding dance teacher than Jasmine and encourage everyone to give her a shot. And even if you can't dance, do a dance date anyway. It can lead somewhere very special. read more

I can't recommend Jasmine enough! My fiancé and I had such a great night learning new moves for our wedding dance. From the start Jasmine was so kind and professional though emailing, setting up a time that worked for us and putting us at ease when we got there. We are watching our video to practice the moves and smiling looking back at this fun night. Thank you Jasmine, you are amazing! read more

Jasmine is a terrific instructor and creates a very fun, welcoming, and relaxing atmosphere. Don't be shy -- you'll be sure to have a blast!

Jasmine is a fun, vibrant dance teacher. I take east coast, lindy, and balboa swing classes from her. From the very first class, I knew something was different about Jasmine, though I could not quite put my finger on it at the time. In all honesty, in the beginning it made me uncomfortable, but it was because it was challenging me. Change is hard... I have taken many dance classes over my lifetime, but they were not social dances. Being in hyper control of one's own body is difficult enough without adding another person into the mix. Its funny, but social dancing has taught me to acquiesce and be a more flexible person. Jasmine's bailiwick is non-choreographed dancing on the social dance floor. As a follower, she has been instrumental in teaching me how to let the lead "lead." This seems quite simple, but letting go of control and focusing on what your partner is doing, staying in front of them, and giving enough space, while providing enough pressure/feedback. These are much harder to do than you would think. The good dancers make it look effortless and as it were, so does Jasmine. I aspire to dance as well as Jasmine "one day." Until that day comes, I will enjoy the journey and Jasmine's instruction. If you would like to learn how to social dance, I highly recommend Jasmine as a teacher. read more

I tried Lindy Hop lessons in a number of places before I found Jasmine and I knew right away that her lessons were what I was looking for. Other teachers were showing me fancy moves and complicated Charleston patterns but Jasmine was teaching how to swing dance. Basics to more complex patterns and showing us variations in how any of those moves could be used. That's how you actually dance. She always reviews previous moves, watches to make sure everyone is executing correctly, and pays attention to little technical things that make a difference. Likewise her private lessons are highly recommended. As well as being a terrific teacher and a lovely woman, Jasmine is just a lot of fun to be around so the class has a great fun "family" atmosphere. read more

Jasmine is a wonderful dance instructor. She helps you shed your inhibitions through a unique mix of competence, understanding and joy. While her instruction is grounded in a firm understanding of dance, she is fresh, spontaneous and appealing in her approach. I highly recommend Jasmine as a wedding dance teacher! My husband and I are not dancers/have little to no experience and were quite nervous about taking a class nevermind doing a choreographed dance at our wedding. Jasmine helped make our first dance the best dance! We have never taken a dance class before and Jasmine made us feel like experts once it came time for our first dance. We started in a group setting where we did a six week class and learned the basics. At first we were stepping on each others toes but Jasmine was always patient and accepting, she made learning fun. For our first dance we wanted something special. We didn't want to be shuffling around on the dance floor we wanted to do turns and dips! We loved Jasmine's teaching style and decided to take a few additional private lessons with her to perfect what we had learned in the group class. She adjusted her teaching strategy to meet everyone's learning needs in the group class and knew she would be a great instructor one on one. After the private lessons, our stress of feeling and looking awkward quickly turned to confidence. We were turning and dipping better than dancing with the stars read more

If you are looking for an incredibly talented, kind, professional, and outstanding teacher to help you and your partner choreograph and master a beautiful first dance for your wedding day, then stop your search because you will find all of that in Jasmine Worrell! My husband Peter and I asked Jasmine to help us get ready for our first dance as husband and wife in November 2019, and we could not have been more thrilled with our choice to work with her! From start to finish, Jasmine made the process fun, collaborative, and accessible (even for my husband, who had minimal dance experience before our lessons and felt somewhat nervous going into the process). At our first lesson, she helped us choose a song from the list of options we were considering that was easy to dance to and choreographed really nicely. She then (almost effortlessly, it seemed!) built a gorgeous dance routine that was both straightforward for us to learn and beautiful for our guests to watch. Over the course of a few short lessons, Jasmine helped us not only learn the steps of the choreography, but also master the routine so that it felt natural and fun when we were dancing in front of our guests. We surprised our guests with the choreographed first dance routine and I'm so glad we did because it was a huge hit that ended up bringing everyone to the dance floor right away! The rest of the night was so incredibly fun, and the dance floor was absolutely packed until the after-party ended. We were so lucky to work with Jasmine, and we can't recommend her services highly enough! You will never regret working with her to learn the ropes for your special dance event! read more

The seed was planted years ago after seeing the movie "Swingers" - I KNEW that I wanted to learn how to dance swing. As time waits for no one, at some point it was time to start checking off that bucket list so... After searching through Yelp I decided to contact Jasmine based on her glowing reviews and the heartfelt responses that she gave to them. I cannot BELIEVE how enjoyable my experience was in working with her! I'm typically very self conscious, particularly when trying new things, but Jasmine made me feel completely at ease with her unassuming demeanor and warm presence. She was extremely patient, allowing abundant space for me to learn the moves well before moving on, and always with care and encouragement. It's obvious that she takes what she does VERY seriously - always on time, always prepared, and with a seemingly endless array of well-honed teaching and dancing skills - but, she doesn't take herself too seriously to make you feel uncomfortable, if that makes any sense. I mean, she's actually pretty funny and just fun to be around! Her energy is literally infectious which does wonders at wisping away the inevitable frustrations that come with learning new things, not to mention providing for a wellspring of motivation to keep moving forward... I cannot recommend Jasmine more highly - not just the best dance lessons that I've EVER had, but also some of the best teaching and instruction that I've had, period! read more
