I used to dance here. I was doing a fundraiser for a soup kitchen in Santa Rosa. I asked if they could donate a class or private lesson and they willingly gave me a gift certificate for 4 private lessons which was very generous. The person who bid on it was previously a student there. He tried to use it and they told him he couldn't use it because he wasn't a new student even though it says nothing on the gift certificate that you have to be a new dancer. They told him to have him ask me to give him back his money that he paid for it. This is just another example of the sleazy business practices. So disappointing for the man who bought it. There are so many other places that are fun to dance that have ethics. Jenny in response to your comment with the two other gift certificates you donated for our auction this was not the reaction not honoring certificate. The certificate says nothing about needing to be a new student as a requirement. It also, costs me alot to put on an auction and to create materials to promote your business at our auction. Often times people by gift certificates to support and event and never use them but this time someone wanted to use it. The recipient called me last night and said you offered him a month of free group classes after I posted this. At least he got something for his money. So thank you. read more

They are so generous with their teaching and so kind. I've been to dance parties where they teach you the dance before you participate in the party, but it's a totally different experience. I can only speak to the "introductory offer" of a dance lesson. Learning to ballroom dance has been on my bucket list and at 46 years old, the time had come! I was soooo nervous walking into the place because I have two left feet AND I was going solo. I stepped one foot inside, then back outside, took a deep breath and returned indoors. In some ways, it was a beginning dance step. LOL Greeted by Julie, I was given a quick tour of the lovely studio. There was a group lesson in session so it was comforting to watch the diversity before me. There were all stages from beginner to expert, and that put my mind at ease a bit. I have always been again pretty much all my life and always wanted to try ballroom, but never was brave enough until I walked into the doors of the memories. At first it was real, but the people there teachers soon as you walk in the door they make you feel comfortable. I had a credit coming for unused dance lessons which they refused to refund when I was told it was refundable when purchased. I was also told by Richard that my balance could go to my instructor as a tip (he'd Venmo her) as I requested. Then I get an email that instructors are not allowed to get tips but they would be happy to transfer my balance to a friend??? Umm no thank you! They are crooks! I wouldn't send my worst enemy here! That is unless of course you count the great dance of ninjutsu. I have found the instructors to be very professional and personable. Knowledgeable about the subject matter and able to teach to both mine and my wife's learning styles and experience levels. The prices are competitive and everyone in the dance studio is genuinely there having fun. I highly recommend. PS, as someone who runs a business myself and understand the trials and tribulations. I've been coming to lessons here for 2-1/2 months. I have danced off and on over the past 40 years, but had not been dancing much recently. I'm so glad I've come back to it. Dancing with the instructors here is very often like flying - so incredibly satisfying. It's definitely added to my happiness quotient, even if just by giving me some time to be so intently focused on learning something new that I simply can't think about the day to day concerns at the same time. I love that my membership gives me wide-open access to a very ample selection of group classes and workshops during the course of the week. I can make one trip to Santa Rosa and stay for up to four classes or events, the very best being the Tuesday and Thursday night practice parties. I feel like I have a whole new set of friends where everyone is interested in learning and loves dancing, so we have a great time. I love the one-on-one lessons where the instruction is precisely tailored to where I am and where I want to go. And I splurged on a lesson with a guest professional which was not only jam-packed with tips that will help me move better and look better while doing it, but that also inspired me with the potential to go further than I imagined. It's such a joy to dance. Full disclosure: It's Festival season, with costume themes and contests. I will probably earn some points for writing this review. But that's not why I'm writing it. They will work with your budget and have you dancing after your first lesson (which is free btw) .. we cannot wait to see how everything comes together for our first dance. We recently attended a wedding where all the details were handled perfectly. The venue was amazing, catering was great, the decorations were unique and well planned and the DJ was awesome. They probably spent tens of thousands of dollars on the evening (as most couples do these days) Everything was first class, almost... Our friends got up on the stage for their first dance and totally flopped! I was actually a little embarrassed for them. It was almost as if they had never danced together! They planned everything else to a T, but totally forgot about the first dance. I am a very novice dancer myself so I can't judge, but my fiance knows how to boogie so these events are always a little awkward for me. Almost immediately after the wedding we saw the Arthur Miller booth at a wedding show and decided to take lessons. We are learning a first dance for our our upcoming wedding. I was a little nervous at first, but they made it easy to learn and they were very patient with me.. The building was recently renovated and is spacious and clean, parking is easy and the staff is great. I haven't taken dance classes before so I have no frame of reference, but I am very pleased with my experience here. I am actually very relieved to have found this place. Since the wedding planning has started I have been a little worried about the first dance. At this point we are almost done with our six lessons and I feel very comfortable and confident on the dance floor. I can't recommend them highly enough. read more
