I gently reminded them a few times when it was late and they kept reassuring me it was on its way. I received the skirt one week before the wedding and the top the DAY BEFORE. No apology - in fact they were rude and made it sound like it was my fault! It needed serious alterations - the zipper was cheap and flimsy and didn't work properly - when I pointed it out to the owner she accused me of deliberately wrecking it when I tried it on in their store - the gall! After being two months late with my dress - she not only didn't apologize but accused me of being a vandal! The proprietor is a complete crook and is mean! mean! mean! I had to find a tailor who could fix it (I ended up going to my local drycleaner on the Saturday of a holiday weekend, the day before my wedding, begging them to redo the wonky zipper and to fix the top which didn't do up properly). It was so stressful since I was getting married in less than 24 hours! We had no other problems with any other vendors - even my parents, who know how business can be done in India sometimes, were shocked at her attitude. Never go here - the proprietor is dishonest and mean. I have never had such a bad experience with a store in my life, ever.

Their Ossington location is considered their Toronto flagship store, however, they also have a location in Leslieville as well as Yorkdale. I've been to KOTN along Ossington several times. I usually take advantage of their sales that happen once or twice a year as their regular priced items are more pricy. However, I do occasionally go for their basics which are of high quality. The store layout is spacious. Some clothes can easily be unisex. Staff are always friendly, professional, and helpful. If you want to try on clothes, they will also set aside the clothes for you in the changeroom area so that you can continue to browse. There is also a sofa in the changeroom area if you are waiting for your friends to try on clothes as well. If you do end up buying clothes they give you a nice tote bag for your purchased clothes. Overall, a nice spacious clothing store selling sustainable and ethical high-quality clothing. The staff are great and friendly as well. She then proceeded to help me find the perfect silver edging for the blouse as well as the elegant and fine silver edging for the saree. It turned out quite fabulously, both the saree and the blouse. I was even able to purchase a set of absolutely gorgeous silver Eastern style earrings which was a perfect match to the look I was going for in the saree. We learned that Sydney's is proudly Canadian, where most items sold in shop are Canadian made. The merchandising in the store is perfect - well laid out, not overwhelming with excessive bells and whistles with an old antique feel. Professionalism is usually top on my list when I walk into a high-end store and this shop exceeded my expectations. The staff were not only exceptionally knowledgable about their products, but they were all friendly and happy to help without at all feeling pushy which is a rare combination. And to top it off, we got to meet the owner in house. You could tell immediately that Sydney is down-to-earth and takes pride in his brand and wants his clients to leave happy and well dressed. We left the store, got into the car and went to a grocery store . My mom realized her mistake, took off the pants and we called the store. The next morning, we dropped off the pants. The employee was requesting $40 for a cleaning fee. I am in disbelief, we made a mistake but it should also be the stores responsibility to manage their inventory. The pants may have gotten dirty at the bottom due to being worn in the car and the grocery store before being noticed. How can this store expect the cleaning fee to be our responsibility in this situation?
