In trying to make sense of their statements, we found many errors and quite a few claims that had never been submitted to our insurance for payment. The quality of care was fine, for the most part (I agree with some other older comments regarding dentists other than Dr. Hiers); however stretching checkups from every six months to every 9 months (without mentioning that they were doing that, until I questioned it) wasn't acceptable, either. I was told it was due to a lack of hygienists. Lots of marketing comes from this practice; the funds could be put to better use retaining staff. And any medical office that calls appointments "reservations" and doesn't honor requests for "no appointment reminders" is one to avoid, in my opinion. So if you have dental insurance and still want to choose this practice, it'd be a good idea to keep a close eye on your claims.

He laughed and said no. He said that I could go online and be doctor google if I wanted to. I told him I'd rather go to a different dentist and that I did.

I would have to wait and travel to Annapolis. When I said lets just pull the tooth. I can't deal with the pain. I was then told they would try to get me to an oral surgeon. They could not do it in house. I was told to take ibuprofen for the pain. When I explain that wasn't helping it was suggested that I add tylenol in between. I was in tears while paying out. The secretary staff did try to call around and get me help. They could see how much pain I was in, however they could not find anyone that could take me same day. I got in my car I called around and thankfully found someone else that could see me. They got me in right away. They listen to me and were so kind. I was informed not only was the tooth infected but I had an acute abscess. That is why I was in so much pain and the gum was so swollen. They drained were able to open the tooth to relieve the pressure and immediately called in an antibiotic. My experience in Dr. Soulati's only served to increase my reservations about the dentist. I shutter to think what would have happened, had I not found care elsewhere. I would not recommend this dentist. This morning, my daughter was unwell and still sleeping, so I called the office to see if I could reschedule my appointment -- not cancel -- because I didn't feel right waking a sick child and bringing her into a dental office. The woman who answered the phone, Emily, was extremely rude and unkind. I was immediately told I would be charged a $50 fee, despite explaining the situation and that I was simply hoping to move the appointment. When I asked about rescheduling, I was told the earliest availability wouldn't be until the end of January, which was surprising since I was told just the day before that there was plenty of availability. I apologized multiple times and explained that January was too far out given the pain I'm experiencing and that I'd need to call back. The response was a curt "okay, sounds good," followed by the call being abruptly ended. Compassion and understanding go a long way, especially when patients are in pain and dealing with sick children. Unfortunately, this interaction lacked both. Needless to say, I will not be returning.

Even when they were explaining I would need a rootcanal- the delivery was superb and comforting. They also love when you talk to them and ask plenty of dental questions. Sure it isn't your job to know what the mesial or distal surface is of your tooth- but it helps the dental team to deliver a better explanation. Kyle, the youngest, after 2.5 years, and not getting my son's teeth straight, shaved them down (literally filed my son's teeth down). Until this incident, I didn't even know this was a possibility. How awful, I spent THOUSANDS of dollars to not have his teeth/bite fully corrected & to get them shaved down. My 2 son's had fabulous service but my 3rd son's teeth got shaved down because the orthodontist practice was now taken over by Mark Higgenbotto's kids. Before he shaved/filed his teeth I was not told 1)which teeth would be filed 2) how much would be filed from those teeth 3) if we filed them, when the braces would come off 4) if we didn't file them how much longer the braces would stay on After we paid thousands and signed a contract, no one ever told me that NOT straightening my child's teeth was an option or I would have found another orthodontist. My 4th child will never go to this office & I can no longer suggest anyone else go either. Stay away, from one mom to another find another orthodontist! These people should be ashamed of themselves! Now this is my opinion & I have nothing to back it up however what I think happened is that they know (have calculated) the approximate time of each teen in braces and if your child's teeth don't move quite enough in that time frame maybe it starts eating into their profit margin & they want to get you out of there.....Just a guess.
