I was having some TMJ issues, so I went to a traditional chiropractor about a year ago. I had to have him pop my neck and jaw 3x/week for 12 weeks. It didn't feel like I was getting any better, and in fact, I think I was probably getting worse. I had the constant feeling of needing to pop my neck myself. That's when I did research and found out about gentle NUCCA. No popping of the neck, just very precise alignment of the top two vertebrae. It has been amazing! Along with many other things I've tried, this has helped my TMJ issues calm down. But I also just feel so much more aligned. AND I only have to go like twice a month now, probably once a month eventually. So the initial investment is a lot, but it will definitely save you money over time. I've seen both Dr. Cortes and Dr. Gates and they are both amazing! Really take their time with you and do everything with such care. They look at the whole health picture. Dr. Sheffield! I went to her upon recommendation from my massage therapist. I was hesitant…read morenaturally, because "chiropractor" is not a comforting word for me. However, Dr. Sheffield immediately changed that. We talked for a bit, she sent for me for x-rays and to follow up she gave me a plan (which I followed). The overall health of my spine has improved immensely and after nearly 1.5yr of seeing her I go to her for a monthly tune up. The road to get to a monthly tune up was not easy and it had a particular hurdle that I will never forget. I have been a high impact athlete my entire life (soccer specifically and as an adult crossfit). The challenges my spine present: that good ole atlas was out and needed to be re-trained, decreased cervical spine, pars defects at L3 and moderate DDD at L5-S1. Once I started to see Dr. Sheffield I began to take it easier on my body for a little while to make sure things were feeling good as I was working on improving my spine health. In October of 2017 I had an increased anterior slip at L3 and I felt a freezing sensation I had never felt before around my waist and down my hamstrings. From there it was a long road for me mentally, physically and emotionally. I was now facing a horrifying thought of "no more soccer, no more crossfit because I do not want this to get any worse." I went back to seeing Dr. Sheffield once a week and we monitored it, adjusted, talked about things I was doing or things I could try with caution. I was in pain for a long time but trusted Dr. Sheffield with my spine and I am beyond happy I did. Fast forward: I weened my way back to seeing her once a month, put in a lot of work with my core and pelvic position on almost everything I do and I confidently partake in crossfit regularly again. Biggest things from Dr. Sheffield are her obvious knowledge and willingness to approach me for my specific needs with my spine. Her openness to me trying things and coming in with that "yeah I probably won't do THAT again" look and her tuning me up so I can go try more things (which now, pretty much everything is a go!). She explains things in a simple way and wants her patients to be educated. She also supports my drive in being as active as I am, within the limits that respect my body. I am very thankful I went in after the recommendation. I am happily a patient of Dr. Sheffield's and will continue to be.

She works gently to release fascia, helping my body heal old injury and compensations I've unconsciously made to balance those injuries. After getting great relief, and going for a few months, she referred me to her Biomechanics Specialist, Shannon. Honestly, I had no idea what she was sending me to. I have had bad experiences with Dr's referrals and was suspicious. All my fears melted the moment I met with Shannon. She was wonderful. Kind hearted, wonderfully talented, and so skilled at her trade, I want everyone to visit her. (I didn't believe that Beka, at the front desk, had wanted to, or reason to go to her for 2 years, now I know WAY better!). I've been seeing Shannon now for 3.5 months. I can officially say she is a magical person. She studies the body in a way I've never encountered from any professional, other than the wonderful Chiropractors at Clear Point of course! She can see each persons body in such an honest way, that her assistance is always tailored and precise. She has helped me with a severe neck injury that resulted from me falling down stairs and landing on my jaw. Something I thought could never be helped. This in addition to the many injuries from my horse riding, high school rodeo days, I'm primed for a fixin'. Dr. Summer knew what I needed and after she treated me and properly evaluated my needs and limitations, had no problem sending me to the right person. I cannot thank her enough for knowing so much and doing that. This is a truly wonderful place. I'm elated that I've found it, and have found real relief. NO longer do I get cracked in 20min. and leave, needing a re-do in 30 days. They work towards actual healing, and while it's not cheap, and insurance isn't covered at pay out, but is a reimbursement, I make every effort to fit in my sessions. It is really that important to me. Last but not least: Shannon also tailors her work to each person. Me, being a regular yoga practitioner, responds well to energy work and the verbiage used in that work. She has been able to help me connect with my body in a way that has helped me with personal therapy, something I never expected and couldn't have asked for better. Truly these women are saving graces. :) Thank you. **My stellar review is in no way contrived or manipulated by my attendance here. I've written this from the bottom of my heart and am so thankful, I want everyone to know how I've been helped.
