It was like someone constantly reading some text. You won't be able to make a career with their so called training.

You get PAID to WORK!! Okay now that I have said that, I will move on with my review…read more Year Up is a program that last for one year, and gives you the tools to survive in a business environment. You learn how to write a resume, and how to write an email without LOL in the body. They walk you through the ends and outs of a computer. How to put a computer back together, and how to make a spreadsheet on excel. There are many chance for you to go here. I graduated not to long ago, and I feel that it has helped me a lot. Before I graduated I was helped in locating a job by my adviser, Gina Allen. Every student gets someone like Gina to help them through out the process of the program. In my opinion she is Number #1 in my book. I'm still in contact with her today. Once a you graduate Year up, you are with them forever. There are some things that I will never forget from this "Job". I will never look at an email the same way again. I am now always aware of how much my co-workers around me walks around with there phones. I was never one to earn an infraction, but I find myself giving them to the people around me. Shirt wrinkled - 15 point infraction, Phone goes off - 15 point infraction, Wrong Shoes -15 Point infraction. I will probably live my life giving people infractions because of my time at Year Up. There are so many networking opportunity that you can have. There is always a new guest speaker for you to meet. Don't forget to grab that business card.

Prior to going to appointment to register our son, we had all required documentation needed (passport, birth certificate, naturalization certificate, and decided to also bring along the translated copy of adoption decree from our son's home country. While this was not needed, we didn't want to have any delay in registration. We were greeted at the Front Desk and we were directed to a room where we met with a lady named Sonja. She took all our documents and made copies to start a file for our son. Later on, we were told we needed to have the home country documentation be stamped by ARLINGTON COUNTY courthouse! (Keep in mind all our documents had both of our last names and also we provided a birth certificate with us listed as our son's legal guardians! Sonja insisted that her supervisor told her we had to get the translated adoption decree stamped by the Arlington County Courthouse! We asked her why and nowhere on the website told us we needed this! She insisted that we had to, gave us a list at the County Courthouse to contact. My partner goes to the Courthouse and was told to go to other departments since no one knew what to do. All said the birth certificate was enough proof that he was our son! At that point, my partner decided to go back to the school registration department and found out Sonja never showed any of the documentation we gave her to make copies of and the only documentation she showed the supervisor was the translated copy of the adoption decree which was never needed to register in the first place! Sonja also told us to come back once we have the documentation stamped by the County to see her today and guess what?! She was not there today. I expressed how horrible this experience has been! I asked the Director, " are you asking other parents with natural birth kids for an adoption decree? This experience left me feeling we were singled out because we are a sane sex couple. Do not have Sonja have with registration for your child! We took off work and also took our son out of school to register yesterday!
