disgusting and boring

The worst skating experience ever!!! dj was so unprofessional. he had the nerve to yell in his microphone acoustic nightmare the speakers were so loud people were putting in there earplugs. the dj knew the speakers were loud cause he had earplugs. Not clean, not good service, not good skates, and the safety employees were not keeping children safe. Me and my lawyer are thinking about a class action lawsuit. good playlist though but still I wish arson upon Rolling Thunder Skating Center tickets machine didn't even give you tickets!!! and there's no currency at all what a waste of money I could just scream in fact I will aaahhhhhh!!!! utterly disappointed.

Quaint, Dated, family skating rink in NE Philly that has been around for decades. My fondest memories of this place dates back to the late 80s; when it was called USA skating rink. Such great memories!!! As a teen I skated here as well. By this time it was known as "WoW" & would literally transform into a night club for teens. We would skate til about 9ish and dance the remainder of the night away in the center floor. I wanna say at some point it experienced another name change; Jamz and now Rolling Thunder. This is a Family Skate Rink and adults and teens are often extremely aggressive on the floor despite the many announcements of rules throughout the skate sessions. I do not recommend letting your toddlers skate alone at this place. While they have walkers for beginners, it isn't safe & folks don't adhere to the rules. I recommend if you are an advanced skater going to another rink altogether. Entry is reasonably priced however, if you need to rent skates, they are in terrible condition. I recommend bringing your own.

Fun place to spend time with kids. Music was a little boring but we had a good time. They have both inline and roller skates for you to choose. We could easily change from roller to inline skates. It was not crowded on a holiday afternoon. Concessions are not exciting and we did not eat, only had some sodas. It's reasonably priced and we would go back again when in Philadelphia.

Rolling thunder, formely known as Wow was really fun! I haven't went roller skating in ages and it definitely brought back nostalgia and made me feel like a kid again! I came here a couple weeks ago, for my goddaughter 8 year old birthday party. Firstly there were kids, kids, kids everywhere! My best friend arranged for a party of 25 kids, which included access to the skating rink until closing and a special section for dining which included two large pizzas, sodas, fries and chicken. My nephew and I got a different package for unlimited access to the skating rink, games and rides for around 20.00 for the both of us, which was not bad being as though we were there all day from 12:00 in the afternoon to 8:00 at night. Rolling thunder skating rink has so much to offer for a fun time such as mini amusement park rides, carnival foods, friendly staff, arcade games and popping music. The only negative I noticed is later in the evening as the place got crowded, the little kids on the skating rink would get pushed by the older kids however the skating guard would direct as much as he could on the rink. Overall if your interested in having a kid's birthday party, I recommend coming to the neighborhood skating place, trust me your kids will definitely be exhausted by the end of the day cause there's always something to do. They also have skating night for adults as well. Come and join the fun and get your skate on!

Me and my friend putting on our skates

I went on a school trip super fun. The skate rentals didn't cost a lot like 5 dollars only thing was the food and souvenirs were expensive.

We celebrated my niece birthday here On 6/5/22. Manager was great, she had everything ready to go with the table, drinks, plates, napkins. Dj was great. He shouted out the birthday girl many times. We went when it first opened at 1. It was clean and the rides were ready to go. We had a ball and will be back.

Daughters broken arm after a teenager running around like a crazy animal knocked her down!

The old chairs(tilting and broke), bathroom, and skates looked to be from the 80s. I guess the rink was closed, and it sat, and someone brought it and opened it with everything from back in the 80s!! There's security at the door, and they frisk you down! Look in bags and even went through the party food. The staff was nice and the woman who tended to the party was very nice and accommodating. If you have a party you can't bring in burgers and chicken because they sell that. When I put on the 80s style skates, I didn't feel comfortable because they were wobbly! Some people who I was with were skaters and refused to put the old skates on. Some people brought their skates. B.Y.O.S. the floor was warped in some places. The rink makes you sign a waiver before giving you a party band. Someone in our group was run over by the speed skaters and was hurt very badly. They announced that the slower skaters should skate in the middle. However, we couldn't get out there because of the speed skaters!! It was very scary trying to get to the center on the floor!!! Most people just stayed on the side all evening. Overall, I was disappointed at the condition of the skate rink but enjoyed the time with the people who came for the party.

Came down to this spot for some ice skating with a few friends and though it was kinda fun, I doubt…read moreI'd go back again to skate here because the skates are in horrible condition and it felt like a poorly put together middle school dance with bad loud music and cheap club-like LED lighting. Upside, it's fairly cheap (a few dollars cheaper than the one at Wissahickon) and it wasn't overly crowded (but then again, it had snowed over a foot of snow so I doubt people wanted to leave their homes). They do have food but based on how run down the place is and how poorly maintained the skates/ice is, I'd suggest you eat beforehand or bring in your own little snacks. It is open daily to the public from 8p-10p then afterwards it's for those who play in the local hockey league. Check their website to check for times because it does seem to change fairly often. If you do want to come here, you should consider bringing in your own skates. Parking: Small lot Price: $8 admission + $2 skate rental

It is a little cheaper ($2 less) than the nearby Wissahickon skating rink, so in some sense you get what you pay for. It wasn't terribly crowded either, which made skating mildly more enjoyable. If you're looking for a cheap place to skate and aren't picky on rental quality, this is the place for you. If you don't fit into those categories, head over to Wissahickon.
