Business Lunch Special
Zoe B.

Jamrah has one of the best lunch specials in all of DeKalb. This business lunch comes in fish, veggie, combo, or spicy chicken and is available for $9.99 Tuesday-Friday. They also have special platters available for less than the price of the regular platters. I got the combo platter which comes with beef shawarma, shish kabob (beef), chicken shawarma, shish tawook (chicken), kefta (lamb), and a falafel. It is also served with rice and Jamrah salad (I opted for extra rice instead of salad today), and a pita. The combo business lunch is such a great deal for the amount of food you get. I also highly recommend getting a side or two of the garlic sauce to dip everything in. The service is fast and very welcoming. The restaurant is very spacious with lots of indoor seating and outdoor seating for the warm weather.

This is our first time here. We were excited to give this restaurant a try. The dining area is big, there are booths and tables. There is lots of natural light which we love and there are shades you can pull down to prevent the sun from getting in your eyes. They have a fountain soda machine with Pepsi products as well as a smaller iced tea machine. My husband ordered the combination platter and chose the lentil soup and rice for his sides. I ordered the salmon platter. I did not get to chose and sides but it came with broccoli and a huge serving of rice (two different kids) They called my husbands name and there was only one meal in the bag. He had to ask about my Salmon meal. I don't think anyone would have left without it, you could tell the bag was not full. My husband started eating his meal while I waited for mine. His lentil soup was cold, I asked for a new one and the lady said she would bring it to the table with my salmon platter. She surprised us with the Poblano soup too which was also yummy. While we were eating at least 30 people came in and stood in line. It was 3:14 so I can only imagine what the line is like here during dinner time. My husband liked his combination meal but the meats were a little dry for his liking. He did enjoy the char taste and would order it again. The salmon was cooked perfectly. I put some of the garlic sauce on it and it elevated the taste. I would definitely order it again. The rice portion was huge... you definitely won't go home hungry. The baklava they sell is around $7 and is prepackaged. It was very fresh and tasty... well worth the cost! The prices are reasonable. However they do charge a convenience fee when using a credit card and pay close attention cause it will ask you to key in a tip percentage. You have to press skip if you want to tip more or less. The overall experience was good and we were glad we chose to come here to eat and will most likely dine here again when in the area.

Best place around here for Middle Eastern food. It actually has two locations, with one in DeKalb and this one in Sycamore being the better place. Jamrah certainly has the local market cornered it seems. Here is basically the main one if you want to call it. This is the one more often in operation. A good time is to come at lunch and save a bit. It has a deal on the platters. These are pretty big things. It's a buck less at lunch. We like to get the Vegetarian Platter. It's about $9 at regular price, so it's still not bad. This comes with 3 falafel pieces and your choice of sides. Choose from the listed choices. Get 3 items from among baba ghannouch, fries, hummus, rice, and salad. All good. The last time here we got the baba ghannouch, which was chunky and creamy, and there was a lot. Hummus was also the best. They have a variety of salads to choose from, and we got the Jerusalem salad. Having a platter allows you to get a lot. It's the best value for sure. This location is the one that's open most times because the other one has problems with staffing and this one doesn't or whatever.

Online price 11.99 In store Price 15.99 I'm not talking about taxes.

I am happy to report that this business has reopened. The sign now reads "Shawarma Kabob Falafel…read moreHummus." Same management, same great food. They still sell bananas and local Middle Eastern cookies from Chicago bakeries for desesrt. The menu might have changed slightly, but fans of Pita X-Press will probably find their favorites. We ordered a vegetarian platter, which had baba ghanouj, hummus, two kinds of cucumber salad, four falafels, and a generous, freshly warmed pita. It was enough food for a light lunch for two. We enjoyed watching the cars pass under the Belvidere Oasis as we ate our food. So glad that this business is back.

Now this is a real OASIS !…read more While coming back from Janesville, we stopped by this oasis to get something from Panda Express. The moment we walked in, the plane of Panda Express went down the drain as the first food stall was Pita X-press. Full fledge Mediterranean menu with onsite fresh shawarma, pita wraps, falafel were just irresistible. I went for #4 gyro with rice and salad. My friend had chicken, gyro and rice. They were happy to offer a range of sauces and add extra meat for free. It tasted fresh and delicious. The best part was enjoying the food on the benches right on the top of I-90, the real oasis experience. Courteous staff. Great food. Cheap gas lol. It may sound like guilty pleasure to go to an oasis in wilderness to enjoy Mediterranean food, but I am definitely going there again.

My friend recommended this place to me since I go to Middle Eastern restaurants and cafes semi…read moreoften. This is located next to B'n Chingon (an okay Mexican place). Parking is sufficient. This is a nice, small Middle Eastern market compared to Souq Fresh Market in Lombard. Souq is very big. This market has a lot of unique Middle Eastern snacks that I've never seen before along with a kitchen that you can order lunch and dinner from. Lunch is served 10 am - 2 pm. I believe dinner is served from 2 pm to 9 pm. Don't quote me on the end dinner times. They have 3 tables that you can eat at. I came after 10:20 am and I ordered the chicken kufta lunch special, two different kinds of samosa, and kebabs. Prices were cheap, I got all of this for $25. They also have an area where you can get some fresh meat and deli items. Staff was friendly. Overall 4 out of 5. If they fixed the kebabs, it would easily be a 5. -chicken kufta lunch special 5 - he made this fresh. You get one pita bread with it. Meat was soft and tender. The rice and salad were very tasty. Huge portion. -samosas 5 - I got one beef and one potato. They were both delicious. -kebabs 3.5 - he gave me two big kebabs but they did not taste freshly made. I'm no stranger to kebabs and I usually like my kebabs to be tender and juicy. These were semi tough and kind of dry inside. I can see the spices in them but they would taste even better new.

Always hot and delicious…read more Best roast chicken dinner around. They got lunch specials as well!
