Several of the trees were located near our home, making the job even more challenging. From the beginning, Caleb demonstrated professionalism, experience, and excellent communication. One thing that really stood out to me was his honesty and transparency throughout the project. We have a playset in our backyard that could not be moved, and one of the trees had a widow maker hanging above it. Before starting the work, Caleb thoroughly assessed the situation and clearly explained the potential risks, including the possibility of damage if the limb were to fall. I appreciated that he took the time to discuss these concerns with us beforehand rather than leaving anything to chance or surprising us later. That level of communication speaks volumes about his integrity and confidence in his abilities. He wasn't afraid to address a difficult situation head-on, and his skill operating the equipment was impressive to watch. The entire crew worked efficiently, safely, and respectfully around our property. Despite the size and complexity of the job, everything was handled with precision and care. It's not often you find a company that combines expertise, honesty, and customer service the way Caleb and his team do. If you're looking for a tree service company you can trust, I highly recommend Caleb and the team at From the Ground Up. We couldn't be happier with the results.

Only then was I informed they'd be late and wouldn't be able to do the work, despite a 3-hour window clearly set in advance. This was for an estate property with a looming deadline and an appraiser scheduled. When I pointed out how disruptive the lack of communication was, I was met with a snide remark telling me to "give them a call" when I couldn't find anyone else -- and that they'd charge me an extra $100 for a rush job. Completely unprofessional. If you want reliability, respect, and basic customer courtesy, look elsewhere. Wolfe Landscaping made it very clear how they treat their clients.

Wow! What a HUGE success our retaining wall pathway project has been! I have posted "before" and…read more"after" photos as proof of the superb results, but they reveal only indirectly the superb process and efforts through which these results were obtained. David Burton produced a superb design. Jeremiah and Sam busted their butts, through two very hot and humid weeks. They were always polite, never in the way, and highly meticulous. In my opinion, they are also highly skilled, operating excavators and other machinery expertly in tight and difficult terrain. Every time (and there were several) that I worried about a placement or a height or grade or whatever, Jeremiah stopped what he was doing, listened patiently, and then took whatever measure to allay my fears. He was kind, considerate, and responsive, as was Sam. It's fair to say that Distefano Landscaping overall did a superb job for us in every imaginable way. And the job came out right around the quoted price, even though there were some bumps (like buried stumps) along the road.

Drew was our main contact (and was very patient with us) through the planning and execution, and Rick (aka Erik) led the work. It was a pleasure to watch this team work, and to work with Drew, Rick and Will through the process. Highly, highly recommend. Neighbors are all commenting on how nice it looks. I had a retaining wall…read moreI was going to be having removed and sloped but in order to do so, I had to remove trees which sat in the middle of it on the top. Joe was very prompt in responding to my inquiry and got me on his schedule as quickly as he could. We agreed to process the request the third or fourth week of August. He gave me an excellent quote! As always, Joe did well to come out and examine the trees himself and described his plan on how he wanted to fell the trees. He ended up having some other things come up but still managed to keep us in the same time frame as agreed upon. He felled a cluster of about 5-6 trees grouped together. These tree were close to the road and had one direction they could fall in a space between my house and my pool deck. He felled this group of trees in less than three hours (far quicker than I expected) and he did so on a windy day! We agreed to do the clean up and removal of the trees ourselves, but he still helped cut up some of the trunks before he left. Joe also re-checked some trees he had previous concerns about and explained the signs I should watch for so they don't become a further issue. I will always call Joe first for any of my tree needs. He is professional, responsive, willing to educate you, and reliable. I highly recommend him for anyone else with tree needs that are within the area he covers here in Vermont. Joe's first and foremost concern is always safety for the people and structures that dwell on job sites.
