We have been loyal customers of Jamie Oil for over 9 years. We recently encountered an issue that left us without hot water in frigid December. Following a service call, Jamie Oil diagnosed the issue as a hole in our water heater coil, and indicated we needed to replace the hot water heater. They indicated they would send an estimate. After calling them several times to request the estimate, I finally received one 5 days later! That's a long time to wait just for an estimate when without hot water in winter. Ultimately, we went with another company that provided much more professional, polite, and prompt service. I would like to commend 3 of your technicians. We recently had a new furnace installed on 2/6/26, on an emergency basis. The two technicians, Jeff M. and Dave Q, were very competent, knowledgeable, and efficient. The install was done the day after we requested it. An additional service call was needed on 2/9/26 to correct an unexpected complication. Jim, another technician came out and was able to diagnose the problem and correct it speedily. Avoid this company at all costs. I just bought this house in Massachusetts which has radiant heating so I have to buy oil for the furnace. Every week, like clockwork, I got a Jamie Oil postcard in the mail. EVERY WEEK. So I thought I would try them. The make you sign a contract, and in the contract is AUTOMATIC DELIVERY whether you NEED oil or NOT. The also give you a promotional price to start as well. 1. the 1st time they came to visit and filled up my tank with oil, it was very little (I don't use that much oil). Got the bill and the bill was incorrect (sorry we are having "glitches" with our billing system") then they fixed it. Still didn't need any oil but they delivered yet AGAIN and I didn't need oil, and AGAIN the billing was wrong again and was told (sorry we are having "glitches" with our billing system). So now 2 deliveries when I didn't need oil and 2x billing "glitches". Ok, so I get a call from the sales guy asking if I needed any oil and I advised no, I still have more than 3/4 tank, and am told ok we won't deliver this time,,,,,HOWEVER 4 days later I get a delivery and the bill is WRONG again. I call the office to ask why I had a delivery when I specifically advised that I did NOT need any and that my bill was still WRONG for the 3rd time. Of course now I am mad as it appears NO ONE knows what they are doing at this oil company!. I am told that their billing sysytem is having "glitches" again (what, do they have billing glitches EVERY month !?! come on now!) Then I told the lady that I already spoke to a sales rep 4 DAYS AGO and said I didn't need any oil at this time, and was told "well, we must have had some miscommunication" REALLY???? Then I started to get hot under the collar and was told not to use language like that. So they DON"T PAY ATTENTION TO THE CUSTOMER!...THE BILLING SYSTEM IS A JOKE!... THEIR COMMUNICATION IS A JOKE !!!. The lady on the phone then transfers me over to another lady who then says "you signed a contract for AUTOMATIC delivery of oil", and I replied, "if it's automatic, then why did your sales rep call me and ask me if I needed oil?" Then she goes off on me saying that "you signed a contract...." Now I know why they have you sign a contract... So they can get away with doing these deliveries when you DON'T NEED OIL. So the bottom line: do not use this company. They will disregard what you need, screw up your billing, and treat you like you are an idiot. There are other companies out there that will not do this, and when my contract is up, I'll be going to one of those. read more

Their salesmen (Dennis McMenamy) sold me the contract with very great promises, then their company pulled my credit check (I had over 780) and sent me an official contract. But then, when the next day I called their office with clarification questions about contract terms, their owner Nicolas was not friendly at all, and said that they are increasing oil price for over 10% than stated in the contract because the oil price increased worldwide, and he sent me the new offer. When I said that the oil price did not change in this one day he decided to revoke their offer stating they cannot take me as a customer as I did not "immediately" signed their offer. This is very weird way to run business... why would they pull people's credit if they are not going to fulfill their promises... Be careful with what they promise you, and read well the binding contracts they are asking you to sign. Will never call them again... read more

These guys are the best. I've been doing business with them for 8-years. I Had a problem this morning with my furnace. I called at 8:15AM, they responded by 10AM. The Field Service Technician troubleshooted the problem down to an electrical board. He didn't have the part but was able to use a "Stop Gap Solution" to get my heat back on. He then relayed the required part back to the office so it could be ordered. That's excellent customer service. read more

so I emailed Jamie Oil about getting my furnace clean I like to try to do that at once a year before the heating season begins I got an email back saying that because I don't buy all my oil from them that they can no longer service my furnace we started out with Howie oil Back in 2003 and then Jamie Oil bought Howie out The fact is we do buy all our oil from Howie oil it's just that we have a pellet stove which we use during the day we only use the oil at night so we usually only buy one tank a year I think the reason why they canceled me is because of a service call that we had where there was something was wrong with the heat coming on it was kind of strange I could hear the the fan coming on no heat and I'm like why is the fan coming on because it doesn't normally come on during the day and only comes on after hours gonna go to bed so I tried to figure out what was going on but I figured I just got a call them The guy came out and said nothing was wrong he said we must have had the fan on instead of auto The next morning we had the same problem where we had no heat they did come back out and fix the problem the second time and she insisted that we had our fan on almost intentionally trying to piss me off which she did looking for any recommendations but all these oil companies seem to have good reviews and bad reviews it's kind of like going to a car dealership read more

He said he could talk to the owner of Jamie Oil about honoring the contract but he would only do so if I removed my yelp review. I asked Nick to put the owner on the phone with me to discuss the review. Of course he was not available. I thought that seemed very sketchy and asked him to have the owner give me a call so that we could discuss both the review and Nick's request for me to remove the review in exchange for Jamie Oil honoring my original contract. well, this was a good day. they send me renewal notices which i ignored as i wasnt resigning with them for a third season. the previous two years they wouldnt deliver until i paid and signed 2 contracts ending in october 2011. with the requests for new service, the last one said if they didnt hear from me, they would assume my service was terminated. this morning, while i was at work, they came to auto deliver, put in 27 gallons and then billed me. i called to tell them im not a customer nor was i renewing my contract, and those bastards threatened my credit record because they fill till you die i guess. they claim that service and oil delivery are different and as i said they will auto fill until told not ever show up in writing. bbb and ag's office are where my free time is going to go. if you can, stop using them read more

Check your bill carefully and record all conversations. After a bankruptcy discharge a check was mistakenly sent to Jamie Oil in the amount of $200. The outstanding balance with them was only $180.00 In a phone call to D the bookeeper on 9/23/2019 she said they never received notice of bankruptcy and that after two years the account was still open. She said they would return the money if they heard from the attorney. On 10/ 22 , D told the attorney they were not going to refund the money. Are they so hard up for money? read more

Having been a customer of Howie Oil for some 6 years, I just came into my office this morning to find our furnace had stopped working. I looked online to get the phone number to find that they had merged with Jamie Oil...so I'm now a customer of theirs and they have an excellent opportunity to impress out of the gate. Afterall it's when things go wrong that you really really need good response: I'm pleased to say that they haven't let me down, less than 45 minutes later Josh has turned up, fixed the problem (something was broken) and we're back on our way to heat. Maybe a little friendlier on the phone would enhance the service but honestly that's less important than a speedy resolution...it certainly is when you're shivering!! When we first arrived in Hopkinton I had never used Oil heating before and knew nothing. This was in the dead of winter so quickly the oil soon hit the bottom of the tank and I was desperate. I saw the Jamie Oil sticker on the tank - called them and they responded super fast and saved the day. Lately we've had to change contracts around and I had first a very nice lady, Dawn, on the phone and then Tom called me directly. Everyone was very understanding and even though the problem was completely mine they helped me out - so I have to disagree with the negative ratings here. Avoid it if you can! Good price to lock you in and offered credit which you can use only if you are willing to accept the ridiculously high price the second year. Will come to fill your tank while you are away at work even if you talk with them several times on the phone saying you won't renew the contract. If you are determined not to pay 70 cents/ gallon higher price than the company you already signed contract with, they ask you to pay $100 labor cost to pump the oil out. Not an honest and fair business at all. Worst experience ever dealing with an oil company! In the end, I paid the oil, Jamie Oil Company pumped into my oil tank without my consensus, using the unit price which is matched to what I have with the new company to settle this issue. read more

I have been with Jamie Oil since buying our house in Uxbridge back in 2016. I'm very surprised by the reviews that gave them a bad rating. I have had great customer service always. If I did have an issue, it was always resolved by a phone call to a very pleasant, polite, and helpful person from Jamie Oil. I have always thought they were a good company, but today they went above & beyond when (not to my knowledge) they came to top off my oil tank while I still had gallons to use at the lower locked in rate. Not realizing that & didn't want an expensive delivery at this time, I sent them away. After wondering why would they come so soon after delivering a full tank in April, I called them and to my surprise was told that's what they were trying to do, because seeing the price is so high now, they wanted to delivery my remaining gallons at my locked in much lower rate. I was so pleased and apologetic I had sent them away, what a dummy. They are going to come back out and make that delivery again. To me that "Great Customer Service". Thanks Jamie Oil. Horrible company to try to work with. Our oil price went up by $0.70/gal. I was horrified to know that they do not contact their customers ahead of time about such a huge price jump! I'm disgusted that this is how they treat their customers. When I called to ask about this, the woman scoffed and huffed and puffed at me saying no other company does this. Well, i'm sorry..if no other company does this then they are all thieves. "We have over 5,000 customers that we'd have to contact." I am supposed to be on automatic delivery. So I didn't realize I had ran out of oil until I was putting my kids to bed and the heaters felt cold on probably one of the coldest nights of this whole winter. After I called them, it took them over 45 minutes before one of their on-call people would call me back. I told the guy that called me back that I have two little kids, not because I wanted to be prioritized but because I needed to know how soon they would come by in case I needed to take my kids to my in-laws. But before I could finish the sentence, the guy was like "it does not matter if you have kids or not, that's not gonna make us come any sooner!" A guy showed up about 3 1/2 hours from the first time I called. I was expecting to see him in an oil delivery truck. Instead he showed up in a van and said he could only give me ten gallons to get me through the night and to call back in the morning to have them fill up the tank. I couldn't sleep that night as i was checking the heaters every couple of hours, not knowing how many gallons our boiler would burn on a cold night. The ten gallons did take us through the night. And they did fill up the tank within 45 minutes from the time I called in the next morning. This is the first winter we've tried these guys and also the first time we've ever ran out of oil (which is pretty darn scary when the temperature was supposed to drop to 11 degrees). Most probably this will be our last winter with these guys and hopefully the last time we ever run out of oil. read more

Stay away from Jamie Oil. They cannot be trusted! We signed up with Jamie Oil last year for a fixed price contract. The contract states that they will deliver oil from Oct 2011 through May of 2012. I got no notices to renew my contract until Septemeber 2012. So I called them to ask, and they said that the customer has to call if they want to renew. I told them I will call back IF I am interested in renewing. I did not call back because I had noticed that they were charging the wrong price per gallon, and when asked, they would make some or the other excuse. Today they came and delivered Oil even though I had specifically told them I would call if interested. Not only that, we have no written contract for this year! When I called the office to complain, all they said is that we do not have a contract, but the automatic delievery is still on. I had a technician come for a tune up service. After he left I noticed oil leaking or oil that had spilled during his visit. The entire house smelled like oil from this area. I called Jamie Oil the next day which was Saturday and the women could not care less about our complaint and concern for oil possibly leaking out of the tank. She did not assist me at all and she also hung up while i was speaking to her. I understand that it is a weekend, but I called the office number and she picked up. The least she could do is explain that she will notify the office on Monday but instead she hung up while i was asking her a question and couldnt even spend 30 seconds understanding the problem or concern i had. read more
