A friend referred me, after he & his wife bought a house in SF with Jamie, and loved her! Jamie sold my Oakland loft in a tough market, in the time & at the price predicted. She generously went the extra mile & did so much behind the scenes that I'd only find out later, when a contractor or HOA board member mentioned something. I was out of state the entire listing/closing time. Jamie handled EVERYTHING on my behalf, remembering details that should've been my responsibility & that she executed without even asking. She made everything seamless! I've bought & sold 5 properties with 10 different realtors in 4 different states, and Jamie was hands down the best! Jamie's the most uniquely balanced human, with all the focus, drive & accomplishment of a Type A temperament, yet all the chill & ease of a Type B. And most notably, she's just a lovely, genuine human:) read more

Jamie came recommended to us by a friend who had recently worked with her to purchase a home that met the very specific needs of him and his partner. So we went in with high expectations to start with, which were immediately exceeded. Given our budget, Jamie helped us narrow down the list of contenders to those that were realistically attainable, and helped us understand what different list prices meant in different situations. That list of contenders helped us understand what items from our list we'd have to give up to stay in budget. We knew that whatever we purchased, we wanted to be our forever home. So from there, we were able to adjust our budget to account for the various tax implications so that we could stretch our budget but still be really confident that we weren't making a decision we would regret. Once we updated our budget, Jamie immediately came back with more options that checked more of our boxes and realistically fit in our price range, and we found one we wanted to put an offer on! Not content with simply getting us to the table, Jamie spent hours of her time visiting the home with us, inspecting it inside and out, and calling in favors from her personal network to allow us to confidently come in with an aggressive offer without contingencies and with a rapid closing window. That offer took into account the house's overall condition as well as a few items Jamie noticed needed rectifying beyond the home's aesthetic condition. Those terms are what allowed us to win our home, with our offer having the same dollar amount as the next best one, but with more seller-favorable terms. We skipped over an entire bidding war and proceeded to escrow, where Jamie pulled out the stops to make sure there would be no issues with our appraisal, bringing in a painter to clean up some peeling paint that might've been problematic. Our appraisal ended up coming in just above our purchase price and right where Jamie said she expected it to. And the mortgage broker she recommended was able to close in 21 days--including Thanksgiving. Her understanding of the neighborhood, the comps, the process, and the incentives that would be attractive to a seller, as well as her contacts in the industry, allowed us to soar through the complex San Francisco home-buying process without a snag. We don't ever plan to sell our home, but if we were to, we know who we'd want to help us with that process. read more

Jamie is truly a gem, of a person and realtor. Kind, thoughtful, honest, proactive, great listener, thorough, responsive, detailed, incredibly knowledgable, savvy, patient, fun, on and on and on. From the beginning of our interviews with realtors, she delivered incredible value as she heard our needs, clearly explained the process and answered questions. It was such a delight - she was the far and away the unanimous choice. And she even followed up afterwards and provided a definitive answer to an obscure but key question, unprompted! During the whole process she delivered in every moment, anticipating our every question with information and action to prepare for the next step. And always available for calls throughout, helping us land my family members in the best home for them. I really can't imagine a better realtor to have on my team. Thank you, Jamie! read more

My wife and I were ready to buy our first house, but really had no idea what we were doing. On a whim, we went to some open houses with friends in northern Oakland. While nervously poking our noses into various rooms, we met an agent who really stood out to us-- Jamie. We weren't blown away by any of the homes we visited that day, but Jamie and her relaxed, friendly demeanor stuck with us. When we got home, we checked a few reviews and decided to reach out asking if she'd be willing to be our agent. Jamie spent over an hour of our initial meet-and-greet explaining the entire process of buying a house to us. Her explanations were clear, she answered questions with patience. At this and future meetings, if we asked her something she didn't have an immediate answer to, she would defer the question until she could gather more data to give us an accurate answer-- and she always followed up with those answers. As new buyers with only a vague sense of what parts of Oakland we were interested in, Jamie's knowledge of the area and neighborhoods was essential. She helped us to identify different neighborhoods within our price range and suggested regions we had not considered or known about. Jamie also pre-screened houses for us, which was just amazing. We would highlight a dozen or more houses we liked and Jamie would do her due diligence on the property, then visit the best picks in-person herself. This saved us a lot of travel time and the everpresent stress of open houses during a pandemic. Once a home had the Jamie stamp of approval, we would come out and take a look ourselves. We learned a tremendous amount from our time with Jamie. She was instrumental in our understanding of the home buying process, helped us to identify good and bad home renovations, and gave us a stronger sense of what we wanted in a home. Our only regret in our time with Jamie is that we ultimately decided we wanted to look in neighborhoods outside the Oakland area, and we couldn't take Jamie with us. She was completely understanding and encouraging when we decided to move our search outside her jurisdiction and wished us well. We would recommend Jamie in a heartbeat. Professional, knowledgeable, data-driven, and kind. read more

Jamie is an extraordinary person and agent and it is difficult to fully express how amazing she is! My husband and I were connected to Jamie through a colleague who had worked with Jamie to buy his first home and had a fantastic experience; when I think about how fortunate we were to be connected to Jamie through him, I tell myself I must have done something right in a prior life. Jamie is meticulous, so knowledgeable, extremely discerning, and a deeply gifted communicator. As first-time home buyers in the daunting Bay Area market, we had no idea what we were doing. Jamie was so patient, thoroughly explaining every step of the home buying process to us (even though in her shoes I would have been bored to tears, probably having explained the process a thousand times before to a thousand prior clients) and not once made us feel self-conscious for not knowing something or not having the biggest budget. This meant a lot in a market where it can feel like every other person is an all-cash multi-millionnaire. No matter your budget, Jamie will treat you with respect and take her fiduciary duties to you seriously. She will never push you into a home that isn't right for you. She will give you her straightforward assessment, and then she'll give you space to think about it and decide what makes sense for you. It is easy to trust Jamie completely because she will never take advantage of that trust; she is on your side from start to finish. Jamie is truly talented at listening to what you're saying (or trying to say) and repeating your words to you in an order that make much more sense. In other words, Jamie is able to intuit what you want and need before you even realize it yourself. It happened to us repeatedly. When we visited homes together, she knew within 30 seconds whether it was a good candidate for us or whether we should move on (and she was always right). She looks not just at the house but at the surrounding neighborhood to assess whether it's the right one for you. Her judgment skills are *perfect*. What's more, Jamie educated us about how to look beyond the nice staging and tell whether a house was well maintained or whether it would need a lot of upfront work. She taught us how to read disclosure packets and the most important issues to look for. I truly appreciated how she put effort into teaching us how to be informed home buyers; she did not have to do that and we have benefited enormously from her guidance. You will also benefit greatly from the fact that Jamie is a trained attorney. She is extremely careful and will not overlook even the tiniest detail. She will follow up on every seemingly minor thing and advocate for you even when it could go against her financial interest (e.g., negotiating a lower purchase price for you because something wasn't disclosed fully by the seller). If you find yourself in a counteroffer situation, Jamie's negotiation skills (and masterful listening skills) will guide you to the right next move. With Jamie's help, we had our 2nd offer accepted only 3 weeks after starting our search, despite an intensely competitive market. Jamie worked late into the night to put together our two offer packets, even though she knew (better than we did) that our 1st offer was very unlikely to be accepted. She is so responsive and reliable, almost beyond belief. When Jamie tells you she'll do something, she will 100% deliver. She will have your back and she will make you feel like you're her #1 priority, even though you vaguely know in the back of your mind she must have lots of other clients just like you. That is how much focused attention she will give you and your home search (and, I am sure, your home sale too). Beyond Jamie's brilliance as a real estate agent, she is also hilarious, incredibly nice, and cooler than you (OK, cooler than me). She made the home search process fun and as enjoyable as possible. We looked forward to seeing her every time, and I will really miss seeing her and hearing her funny stories! Jamie is THE BEST. We will never work with another real estate agent if we can possibly help it. Thank you Jamie!!!!!!! read more

Excellent RE agent. *Extremely* responsive and knowledgable. Helped us navigate successfully through purchasing a home in the middle of a very competitive 2019 Oakland housing market. I wish we could assign more than 5 stars to Jamie. Suffice to say, next time we are looking to buy/sell, we will be giving her a call! read more

Three words to describe Jamie: brilliant, responsive, and reliable. Jamie was introduced by my coworker to help me with a home purchase. She is remarkable. Everyone that has worked with her said wonderful things about her: lenders, buyers, and insurance agents. Her knowledge of the industry is comprehensive from legal matters and sound investments. She is also fun to work with. Real estate could be very stressful but she made it very easy and streamlined. In shorts, she got herself a client of a lifetime. I absolutely recommend Jamie. read more

My wife and I would have been completely lost without Jamie. She made the home-buying process in an otherwise chaotic San Francisco housing market smooth and streamlined. Highly recommended! read more

We would give Jamie more than 5 stars if that were possible. We just closed on the sale of our condo and are happy with the outcome, of course, as well as working with Jamie throughout the process. Jamie made this seamless and easy for us every step of the way. Our decision to sell happened shortly before we went out of the country for vacation. NO PROBLEM. Jamie lined everything up and we checked in a bit over texts, emails, but largely watched her magically pull everything together--managing the remodeling, sourcing things like fixtures, finding ways to save money here and there, working with great stagers, contractors, a photographer, etc. Everything came together in less than a month and we ended up accepting an offer about a month after it was listed. Not only did she manage the operations of the sale, Jamie did her research and knew our neighborhood backwards and forwards. She was cool, calm, and a joy to work with. Jamie will make it happen for you, without a doubt. read more

Jamieis extraordinary. I've worked with many agents before. But Jamie's work ethic, professionalism, and competency really set her apart from all other agents I've worked with. Jamie helped me purchase a home on the East Bay. Before submitting an offer: Unlike other agents who sent me listing, accompanied me to open houses, and askes if I want place an offer, Jamie proactively suggested tha we spend some look at the property outside the open house. It made a big difference. We were able to take our time to imagine ourselves living there, not feeling that we were in a rush to make a decision to compete with all the other people who are around. During the Escrow Jamie was super on top of things. She made sure to send text to me if there's time sensitive emails from the lender or escrow. So i don't have to worry about missing anything. The HOA had a little special situation during the closing. It was a last minute surprise with serious consequences. Jamie helped me analyze the situation and pushed things forward very timely. It was a nerve-racking experience for me, and I was just so glad to have her in my court. I trust Jamie and I know that she has my best interest. There are very few agent I can say the same. read more

We always thought we knew the agent who would help us sell our SF home. Then we met Jamie. She impressed us from the first moment we spoke on the phone, advising us to have the SF Buildings Dept correct and update their records about the square footage our home to reflect the renovations that had been done. When she came to our house and we met in person for the first time, she had already done a lot of research about what had sold in our immediate neighborhood and had a fully prepared plan that she then executed flawlessly. She is an excellent listener, gives great advice and never made us feel any pressure. When Mayflower Movers (that's another review) finished packing us up, we handed Jamie the keys to our house, got in our car and left for our drive across country. Two months later the proceeds from the sale were in our bank account. Jamie made a Google calendar so we always knew where we were in the process - when our house was being prepped, staged and shown. There was no drama - it was a dream. You are very lucky (and smart) if you have Jamie Lawrence on your team. read more

I truly cannot recommend Jamie enough. My wife and I worked with Jamie as first time home buyers in San Francisco beginning May 2021 (a tricky and competitive market for condos), and I'm writing this review in mid-August from the dream condo we have already moved into. Jamie came highly recommended from two friends and still exceeded expectations. She provided a superb overview of the process, worked hard to understand our preferences, and provided expertise and thoughtful perspective at every step of the process. Every listing agent we met knew Jamie (one took a selfie with us when they heard she represented us). But the most valuable part was her help in navigating the offer process and closing period, where Jamie's attention to detail and sharp judgment had us moving ahead of schedule. We would recommend her to anyone - go for it! read more

Jamie is an absolute gift. We were first time home buyers and she made the process seamless, memorable, and enjoyable. We cannot recommend her enough. She was exceptionally thorough and kind. We peppered her with questions and she always made herself available and patiently answered all of them. She quickly learned our home dreams and parameters and continually found great options for us. Across the East Bay she had great rapport and connects with other realtors. We learned how disingenuous other agents might be but Jamie was consistently honest, open, and supportive. For all logistics--pre-approval, offers, and closing--she was detailed in her instructions, never had typos, and offered us great network recommendations (mortgage lenders, home owners insurance, etc.). It cannot be understated how amiable she is, putting us at ease and delighting us with her commentary (and humor) during house visits. We love Jamie! read more

Jamie is amazing. We were looking in both SF and the East Bay, and she knew both markets very well and was able to explain the nuances and tradeoffs associated with specific streets and neighborhoods in SF, Oakland and Berkeley. She'll tell you exactly what you need to know at each step of the process, and is a delightful person to spend a Sunday afternoon looking at wainscoting with! She is also extremely connected within the real estate community, and often knew the inside story behind the houses for sale (i.e. what price the sellers were really looking for, what structural work needed to be done, whether it was being flipped by a shady contractor). She helped steer us away from a house we probably wouldn't have been 100% happy with, and ultimately gave us great advice about how to make a strategic offer on the house we did want -- and we got it (our first offer!!)! We're thrilled with the outcome, we enjoyed the process, and we highly recommend Jamie. read more

Jamie Lawrence rocks our world. In addition to helping us sell our Condo last year, she has helped us navigate buying a home during the pandemic. She is responsive, knowledgeable and patient. She spent so much time helping us view houses during the pandemic which was no small feat. She made the home buying process a breeze. We will most likely not be using her again anytime soon because she helped us find our dream home, but I cannot rave enough about her mad real estate skills! read more

To whom it may concern: I would like to personally endorse Jamie Lawrence for the EXCELLENT work she did for me over the last 9 months during my home search. I know Yelp can be a forum to game praise and a soap box punish brands but this review comes from the bottom of my heart and I would like to it clear. I WOULD NOT BE A HOME OWNER WITH OUT JAMIE. She went above and beyond the call of duty several times to ensure that I was fully informed, comfortable and prepared to compete in this ferocious marketplace that is San Francisco. I may not have been the most ideal candidate for her to represent(conventional loan, in the 600-900k price range) but she treated me like an all cash start up millionaire. She made sure to connect with each selling agent and fight for my offer each of the 5 times we bid on a new property. Jamie was always accessible too, answering emails/texts/calls at all times quickly to keep me competitive. If you want an edge in this town you would be a fool to use anyone but Jamie. You know the housing market is bad when you put an offer on a 1-bedroom home, your offer is $100,000 over asking price, your offer is one of 17 other offers, your offer only comes in 10th place of the 18 offers, and you find out the winning bid for the home went for more than $200,000 over the original price. Sadly, that's San Francisco for you these days. Happily, Jamie Lawrence was our agent when this was our real-life situation. Jamie had been 100% real with us when my partner and I had told her we wanted to try to buy the aforementioned house... an insanely cute little place in a desirable, though not particularly trendy neighborhood in the city. Based on her knowledge and experience with comparable housing situations throughout SF, Jamie had estimated what she believed the house would go for (which was well above asking price, and truthfully, out of our price range). She was completely supportive, timely, and detail-oriented as she helped us put our initial offer in. She was never pushy or judgmental. Of course, she was right that the house would end up going for ridiculously over asking price. While we were disappointed, working with Jamie had made the process understandable, digestable, and less painful than it might have been. Without any pressure or expectation, she encouraged us to keep trying. Then came along the TIC (tenancy in common) in the same neighborhood as the first house. It did take several months to work out all the kinks, but with Jamie's help, the TIC was eventually ours and we can say we've been happily living there for a few months now! Jamie was on point throughout the entire frustrating, though ultimately successful endeavor. She utilized her expertise and legal background to help us negotiate the many steps and other parties involved in purchasing the unit and writing up the brand new TIC agreement. She always kept us up to date with the latest snag or development in her persevering communication with the seller/seller agent, loan office, insurance company, etc. She let us vent when we needed to. When everything was done and the home was ours, she congratulated us with some very thoughtful, celebratory/first-time homeowner gifts. It's little touches like these, and the whole package you get when working with Jamie, that make her an absolute dream agent to work with in San Francisco. I recommend her 500%! read more

I wish there were 6 stars available. From the other reviews it is clear I am not alone. The others recommending Jamie before me are spot on: "No obligations to buy, and her ernest want for what felt right for me." My wife and I never felt pressured to buy - we only felt like our best interests were all that Jamie cared about. "She is very knowledgeable and easy to work with" This is so true... the seller's agent wasnt as on top of things as Jamie was, so Jamie ended up doing double work - she handled every small snag that arose, did almost 2x work and never complained... all of which lead to a great result for us. "I WOULD NOT BE A HOME OWNER WITH OUT JAMIE." Then, when were ready to buy and were negotiating the contract, we almost backed out of a sweetheart deal of small potatoes - Jamie calmly backed us back off the cliff and explained to us why we were making a bad decision - 2 years later we have 300K in additional equity instead of double the rent we were paying "Best of all, Jamie is a calm presence during a very stressful process" I couldnt have said it better myself. You cannot go wrong hiring Jamie. I do not think you could do better than hiring Jamie. You should not think twice about hiring Jamie. read more

First of all i would like to thank Jamie for a great job done. She is really personable, approachable, and a go getter all at the same time. She never pressured us into buying something we weren't really interested in. We always felt she had our best interest in mind. We searched for our home for a little over 1 year. She was extremely patient and I appreciated her professionalism and expertise in real estate. She would let us know of things we may need to be concerned with in case we were serious about placing a bid on a property and would never keep anything from us, really transparent. I highly recommend Jamie. read more

Working with Jamie was awesome. She helped us buy our first home (a condo in the Outer Richmond). Buying a home, especially for the first time, was a very complicated and stressful process. Jamie makes everything as simple and stress-free as possible. What I particularly appreciate about her is her frankness. She's not trying to up-sell you or shoehorn you into something that isn't quite the right fit. Instead, she is straightforward and honest, and will let you know whether she thinks you are making a smart decision. She gives you room to breath, but will not hesitate to provide you with sound advice when requested and needed. She is also extremely well-organized, responsive, and professional. No email or phone call went without a response for more than a few minutes. Every one of the seemingly thousands of documents was properly drafted and delivered on time. If we buy another home in the Bay Area, we will definitely use Jamie to help sell our home and serve as our buying agent. I haven't ever used anyone else, but it's hard to imagine how someone could do a better job. read more

My husband and I loved working with Jamie! We have worked with Jamie twice and it's been a wonderful experience both times. She helped us buy a new home in San Francisco. We were so happy with the experience that we worked with her again to sell my mother-in-law's condo. She is extremely organized, professional, knowledgeable of the market, and has a great network of people to work with. Overall, a true professional. Can't recommend her enough! read more

Working with Jamie is as good as it gets. As first-time homebuyers in this crazy Bay Area market, our learning curve was so steep. She walked us through everything, and spent time at the beginning of our search (when we didn't even have a loan approved) to get to know us, what we wanted, what we could compromise on or not. She sees the potential of properties, and educates her clients throughout the process. It's such an emotional and stressful process, but Jamie was calm and orderly throughout--sharing timelines so we could prepare our schedules and documents, letting us know the impact of certain decisions, and sending us detailed comps when we got serious fast on two homes. She's incredibly detail-oriented and effective, but also warm and easy to work with. One of the qualities we most appreciated about Jamie is that she would always walk us through the risks and rewards of certain offer concessions, and then give us the space to make the best decision for our family. We ended up with an accepted offer on the second home we made an offer on, and we move in this week! read more

Jamie really is as good as it gets. Buying a house in SF is a stressful and disheartening business and takes a lot of time, but Jamie was always available to chat, able to turn around documents quickly and guide us in a no-nonsense way that was so valuable to us as first time homebuyers (although once we finally found a place, as our 6th offer, we felt almost like old-timers!). Using Jamie's suggestions, our bids often ended up being just under what the houses sold for. Although it was sometimes frustrating, it means that Jamie had a good sense of what was appropriate, but wasn't willing to suggest we bid way higher than the property was worth just to get the sale. Not everyone has a real estate agent who is looking out for them and maximizing their investment. That kind of an approach speaks to her character and commitment to her clients. I trust her implicitly and she was the best part of the process. read more

Jamie was excellent to work with! She was so easy to helpful, and really wanted us to find the right place. It was our first home, so we weren't really familiar with the process, but Jamie was patient and knowledgable. She was always accessible and calm even during some pretty crazy back and forths with sellers. Jamie also has a great network of people that she knows in the Bay Area and was really helpful by introducing us to a good mortgage broker and insurance broker, too. She's also a genuinely fun person to spend going to open houses on weekend! We ended up with a beautiful home in South Berkeley that perfectly suits us and we couldn't be happier. We honestly can't recommend her enough. read more

Jamie helped us sell our house in Oakland, and words cannot express how good she was at her job, and how easy she made the process. In this market, you might think houses basically sell themselves, and while this is true in some ways, there's also a ton of work that goes into the process. We had already moved out of town when we decided to sell, and Jamie handled literally EVERYTHING there was to do to get the house in great shape to sell. When the unexpected happened (like when the larger house two doors down went on the market exactly when we were planning to with exactly the same asking price we were planning to ask, or when fedex somehow lost our signed escrow documents on the eve of closing), Jamie was right there, with clear communication about our options and great problem-solving. I felt like I was in the hands of a true professional every step of the way, and I was actually sort of sad when the whole process was over and we no longer had a reason to talk to Jamie every week or so! I cannot recommend her highly enough. read more

I came to see her, since a friend suggested I do, without her EVER making me feel that i needed to be anything but myself - and she showed me everything she is about: integrated, professional approach, bringing to this visit a human quality that had me feel so trusting and relaxed with her excellent expertise around housing and properties. I never felt as a client may feel; no obligations to buy, and her ernest want for what felt right for me. She chose to see me on her time, w/out me having her as my realtor, and it was the most refreshing exchange. She also knows the realtor I am currently with, and spoke well of them but more importantly, I walked away feeling that I had made a friend in someone who has the greatest sense of respect and kindness. This is someone I would highly recommend to anyone seeking to find a place. She is wonderful, works magic within her skills from communication to being the most active listener. Her assessment skills are perfect. She is one a of a kind. Around three months ago, my wife and I contacted Jamie after getting a recommendation from one of her previous clients. Last week, we closed on a beautiful house in the Central Sunset! It was exactly the kind of house we wanted. Jamie was instrumental in making that happen. There's a lot of hysteria in the SF real estate market right now. We got outbid several times by offers that seemed totally irrational. However, Jamie was very patient and collected and she kept encouraging us to make reasonable offers and stay in our comfort zone. Jamie was great at making our bids look attractive with personal letters from her and our lender. After getting an offer accepted, Jamie worked very hard to make sure the closing went smoothly. She coordinated all the inspections and signatures. The closing went off without a hitch. It feels amazing living in a real house! Thanks Jamie! read more

Our family could not recommend Jamie more enthusiastically. She is simply amazing. She previously represented us as buyers in 2012. Based on her outstanding performance in that transaction, we immediately hired again this year as sellers. Despite having complete confidence in Jamie, we had low expectations for the sale. The condo market was down, during the pandemic, our unit was located in one of the oldest buildings in SOMA (e.g. high volume of superior inventory), and the prior three comps in our building had taken months to sell. Jamie delivered an amazing result: she met our bottom line purchase in less than 1 week listed on MLS. This was not luck on her part: she had the condo perfectly staged, her marketing was A+ and she blew buyers away during the showings based on the number of disclosure packages requested and the quick sale. Jamie is talented, smart, hard working and delivers results. The cherry on top is she is a delightful and friendly, and builds a team around of her similarly great people. read more

I can't believe 6 months passed since Jamie helped us find our home, and I still haven't written her a review. Jamie was amazing! We met Jamie three years before we were ready to buy, and as soon as we left the open house, I knew that one day we'd hire Jamie to be our broker. Her legal background made me instantly comfortable (I'm an attorney as well). Jamie was most valuable in helping us sift through various buyer disclosures and identifying the most important information to focus on. She was available to us day and night, once revising an offer at 11 PM after we decided to lower our offering price. We got the house so Jamie's willingness to do the last minute revisions saved us $100K. I recommend her to all my friends. read more

We've had a great experience working with Jamie. She's whip-smart, reads people well and is free from the dollar-signs-in-the-eyes phenomenon I've experienced with several past real estate people. I had an outstanding experience working with Jamie when I purchased my home in Oakland late last year. Jamie was a respected classmate in law school and I have known her for seven years. I know her to be extremely intelligent, thoughtful, and appropriately discerning -- all of which are a huge plus in a realtor. Knowing her as I do, I was extremely comfortable going to her for our first big home purchase. Given some of the difficulties associated with this particular property, I can now say what a phenomenal guide and resource Jamie proved to be. Our house is an early 20th century home and we found that there was substantial deferred maintenance. More deferred maintenance, in fact, than was evident from the seller's reports or was evident to us at a first glance. Jamie, however, had the foresight to take timely and appropriate steps to uncover the full extent of issues with the home. She took the lead in contacting no less than ten contractors/inspectors -- structural engineers, heating specialists, roofers, pest inspectors, home inspectors, electricians, and chimney specialists -- and obtained reports and estimates. The scope of this effort is not something I would have undertaken (or even thought to undertake) on my own, but Jamie's efforts in this regard were critical to our success in this transaction. Indeed, they led to a price reduction of over $30,000 relative to our initial contract price. What I realized after the fact was that Jamie brought her legal training and sensibilities to this transaction. She spotted potential problems, conducted an investigation, and then built a case for a substantial price reduction, which she then presented to the seller. Throughout all of this, Jamie was incredibly responsive and diligent in executing the details of the transaction. She went out of her way to manage our mortgage broker when some issues arose with the terms of our loan. All in all, she was completely reliable and acted 100% in our interest. I would recommend Jamie to anyone, and have already given her name to several close friends who are in the real estate market. read more

I cannot recommend Jamie highly enough! If you're looking for an agent, stop now, because Jamie is the one. We had been on the hunt for a house for more than a year, but literally weeks after our first meeting with Jamie, we closed on our dream home in Oakland. Jamie is brilliant: she listened, asked the right questions, and understood what we were looking for immediately. (In fact, I think she know what we wanted/needed better than we ourselves did.) We were first-time buyers, so naturally a bit anxious about the process. But Jamie explained everything clearly and expertly--we went from zero knowledge to really understanding everything about home-buying after an hour chatting with her. The first house she directed us towards (literally the first one!) was our dream home... and that's the home we bought. I really don't think it gets easier than that in the Bay Area. When it came time to make an offer, Jamie was super savvy, clear, and compassionate when we had our momentary freak-outs (as any first-time buyer would). Thanks to her smart negotiating and clear communication, we closed quickly and painlessly. Jamie is an amazing person: a pleasure to work with, and to hang out with. Thank you, Jamie, for everything--we will always be so grateful! read more

We first met Jamie in May2013 where we submitted our first offer with her. She was referred to us by the listing agent, which we have to say, very grateful to her to have referred us to Jamie. It's been a blessing to work with Jamie. No pressure, no hassle attitude from a very knowledgeable person. With her law background, she was able to answer all of our questions and if she doesn't know the answers, she would spend the time research for us and send us necessary materials to read. Over months of searching, a few more offers and disappointments later, we finally found a place and closed on it a few weeks ago. Jamie has been quick and very responsive to all our questions and demands. She is very professional and pays great attention to details. She stuck with us for about 10 months and that says a lot about her patience and perseverance. I believe if it's not for Jamie, we might have given up searching after the first three months. Thanks Jamie for sticking with us for all these months and we will always be grateful to you. read more

Jamie is the type of real estate agent you look forward to meeting up with. My fiancé had used her for several other real estate transactions previously but when it came time to represent both of us she went out of her way to get an understanding of what we BOTH needed. She had an initial meeting with us to understand our "needs" and "wants" and then tried to set realistic expectations about what we could buy in our budget. We spent almost an hour just doing general searches on homes already sold to level set our expectations of what our budget could get us based on actual sale prices and NOT listing prices. She also gave us great tips and tricks about how to buy in an area we loved but didn't think we could afford. When our perfect house became available she worked really quickly to get everything in order for us to put in an offer, one that was accepted! She was ALWAYS available and responded to our inquiries quickly. Even when she was out of town she sent an equally qualified and attentive substitute in her place. We did a 1031 exchange on the property and Jamie, being a former accomplished attorney and overall intelligent person easily understood many of the legal and complex non-legal issues that arose. You can tell Jamie is an expert in her field, but best of all, she is the type of person you hope stops by for a beer once you move in. Thank you Jamie! read more

Jamie helped my husband sell his condo in the Mission and he liked her so much that we also used her to help us buy our first home together in Noe Valley. We had several agents competing for our business and we chose Jamie to represent us both times. I would not hesitate to recommend her as both a seller's agent and a buyer's agent. The most important and best aspect about working with Jamie was trust. We trusted her recommendations for selling our condo and for competing in the difficult housing market in Noe Valley. She got us top dollar for the condo which enabled us to buy something that was perfect for us. She knew what we wanted and sought out places pre-sale that fit the bill. Her recommendations for price were always right on. On the two places we didn't get that we bid on, if we would have followed her recommendation, we would have gotten them. It all worked out for the best though, because we got a place that was perfect for us. Jamie was always very supportive and easy to work with when we were being neurotic. She dealt kindly and supportively with both me and my husband even when he and I didn't agree and even when we were both calling her to go back and forth and changing our minds at the last minute. She is the epitome of cool and collected and made a a stressful process so much easier. She's the best! read more
