I recently sold my home in Berkeley with Megan Micco, and I cannot recommend her highly enough. I first found Megan through Berkeley Parents Network, where she had glowing recommendations from other local families. From our very first interaction, I felt a strong personal connection. She came to my home, listened carefully, and gave me honest advice about whether I should add a second story or sell. At that time, she actually recommended that I keep the house and build up, since it would likely be more cost-effective and I loved the neighborhood. That told me right away she was looking out for my best interests, not just a commission. After getting construction bids and thinking things through, I ultimately decided I really did want a change of pace. I reached back out to Megan to list my home, and that's when she truly went above and beyond. Megan put together a comprehensive, strategic marketing plan and personally oversaw key updates to the property, including a kitchen renovation and removal of knob-and-tube electrical wiring. She and her team made sure my home was positioned to attract as many buyers as possible in what was a somewhat uneven market. Throughout the entire process, Megan's communication was exceptional. She checked in with me frequently, explained each step clearly, and was incredibly responsive to my questions and concerns. Selling a home is an emotional roller coaster, but Megan's warm personality, professionalism, and steady guidance made it so much easier. She constantly reminded me to keep my eyes on the horizon, and that perspective really helped. When offer day came, her strategy paid off. We received four offers, and the top offer not only exceeded my expectations--it set a new record price per square foot in the Berkeley market. When Megan told me the final number, I literally burst into tears of joy, relief, and happiness. If you are considering selling your home, especially in Berkeley, I wholeheartedly recommend Megan Micco. She is smart, strategic, honest, deeply caring, and truly committed to her clients' best interests. Working with her turned a stressful process into a record-breaking success. read more

We feel so profoundly lucky to have found Megan. Our journey with her spanned several years, and hopefully it will last a good many more. As first-time homebuyers with a limited budget, we felt like finding somewhere in Berkeley was going to be a stretch - and it was - but it would have been impossible without her. We spoke to a few agents before Megan, and none of them felt right. After meeting Megan, we knew we had found something special. We connected with her immediately. What set her apart from everyone else was actually the reality check she gave us: with our budget, buying the dream house we had imagined was going to be tough. She was the only one who was straight with us and made choosing her a no-brainer decision. Rather than discourage us, this frank conversation led us to trust Megan and respect her integrity. At the start, Megan told us that she gets people into the first home they make an offer on 85% of the time. We were certain we'd be in the 15%. But we weren't. Megan maintains that extraordinary statistic because of how she works. She's honest with her clients and realistic about expectations, but she balances it with being extremely attentive to the market, tenacious, well-connected, and creative. Honestly, what more could you ask for in an agent? We waited for the right moment in the market, and she waited with us. When we were finally ready, Megan was immediately available to us - viewing houses the day we flagged them, always answering our messages, and available any time on the phone. There were times when we felt like maybe Berkeley was too much out of our reach-too competitive and expensive for our budget. Megan reassured us that it was all about being ready and finding the right place at the right time, and that's exactly what happened. Through her careful attention to the Berkeley market, she noticed a little gem that had fallen off people's radar. It was exactly what we had hoped to find: a three-bedroom house in the Berkeley school district with space for a garden, and lots of future potential. She joked that we shouldn't mention it to other clients because they'd all expect a miracle. We couldn't believe our luck, and she really was the person who made it happen. She moved quickly, got us into the home immediately, communicated directly with the listing agent, walked us through all the disclosures, and coordinated closely with our lender to put us in the strongest possible position. Putting our offer in happened very quickly (over the span of two days), and it was through Megan's professional connections and persistence that we successfully won against a competing last-minute bid. She negotiated tirelessly for more than 27 hours straight to make it happen for us. Needless to say, it was a stressful period, but Megan was communicative, hopeful, reassuring, and virtually held our hands through that nail-biting wait. On a beautiful Friday evening, we got the call: our offer was accepted. We were homeowners in Berkeley. As academics, we instantly recognized Megan as an expert in this area. She explained things in a way that made sense and has a remarkable handle on everything from the minutiae of Berkeley city ordinances to renovating historic homes. Basically, we felt supported through the whole process. She was patient with our questions and graceful about our lack of knowledge, never making us feel rushed or ignorant. That was quite an achievement, given how quickly the market moves here. To top it off, she has a real commitment to sustainability and green improvements and an understanding of how climate change will likely affect homeowners in the future. As much as anything, this long view is really what makes Megan special. She's not just trying to get you to buy the most expensive house as fast as possible. We never felt that from her. Instead, she created a relationship with us. It's because of that relationship that we have no doubt who we'll be working with if we decide to sell. We're already recommending Megan to everyone we know, so it's very easy to say it here as well. read more

Megan is the absolute BEST. I cannot say enough great things about her. When choosing a real estate agent, we had no idea we would be choosing a friend as well. She is an exceptional human and an exceptional real estate agent who goes above and beyond for her clients. When we were looking to buy a home in Berkeley, she demonstrated incredible passion for historic homes and unwavering optimism about finding the right property within our budget. Her charismatic approach made the entire home-buying process not just smooth, but enjoyable. We were actually a little bummed when we found a house because it meant we wouldn't see her as much What truly sets Megan apart is her genuine care for her clients. When we didn't get our first choice home, she sent us gelato to lift our spirits. She never lost confidence that we would find the perfect house, and she was right! When we found a property that met our needs she expertly designed a creative financing offer that lowered the purchase price to help us save on property taxes and city transfer taxes. Since closing, Megan has visited us multiple times, transforming our professional relationship into a friendship. She even dropped off homemade Challah! We feel like we have not just a real estate agent, but a trusted advisor we can call anytime. If you're looking for a real estate agent who combines professional expertise with genuine compassion, do not hesitate to contact Megan who is the absolute best choice. Highly recommended! read more

We relocated back to the Bay Area from Maui this year, and finding the right real estate agent--especially one with deep, hyper-local expertise--was essential. After initially working with another East Bay agent we weren't fully satisfied with, a trusted family friend recommended Megan Micco, and that recommendation truly changed everything. From our very first interaction, Megan's warmth, professionalism, and deep knowledge of the Albany and greater East Bay market stood out immediately. As we began working together and making offers, it became even clearer how exceptional she is--not just in understanding the market, but in navigating it strategically and effectively. She knows the neighborhoods, the nuances of each property, and how to position her clients to succeed in an incredibly competitive environment. For context, we are a firefighter and a stay-at-home mom/part-time architect--not all-cash tech buyers--and we had a very specific goal: to find a home in Albany for its strong sense of community and top-tier public schools. With extremely limited inventory and intense competition, it felt like a long shot. But Megan made it possible. From the time we returned to the Bay Area to begin our search in person, it took just two months for us to purchase our home. Throughout the process, Megan was consistently available, communicative, and hands-on--previewing homes, walking us through disclosures, and guiding us with clarity and confidence at every step. When it came time to make an offer, Megan developed a thoughtful, data-driven strategy and recommended a number we felt comfortable with. She clearly explained her reasoning and advised us on when to hold firm and when to adjust--something that is invaluable in a market where the offer process can feel incredibly stressful and uncertain. In the end, our offer package was strong enough that the sellers chose us over competing bids. We ultimately found a home near Solano Avenue that checked all of our boxes--a place that had been a cherished family home for decades--and we could not be more excited about this next chapter. In a market where success often feels like luck, Megan is the difference-maker. She is not just a real estate agent; she is a strategic advisor, a trusted partner, and someone who genuinely cares about her clients' outcomes. If you're wondering whether to work with Megan Micco, the answer is absolutely yes. We recommend her without hesitation to anyone navigating the East Bay market. read more

When the time came to sell our Julia Morgan home in the Berkeley Hills, we knew its advantages: views, volumes, location and architectural heritage. But we also knew its challenges: old wiring, a cedar roof and, ironically, the very landmark status that gave it its cachet. Enter Megan Micco. Megan, who owns a historic home herself, knew from personal and professional experience what it would take to find the right buyer. In fact, she found us three; each offer was for all-cash, without contingencies, and well above our asking price. This, before our house even hit the market. Megan is not shy about asking for a premium price for her premium service; as seller's agent, she requires a 3.5% commission, versus other agents' 2.5%. But, in our case, the return on that incremental investment was off the charts. Your mileage may vary, but the passion and professionalism she brings to each project will not. Deep thought and partnership went into every decision we made to prepare our home for market. Within a strict budget, she helped us prioritize repairs and upgrades -roof, wiring, painting, floors, landscaping, yes; kitchen and baths, no. Each of these decisions was informed by her knowledge of the market and of fire-prevention, insurance, BESO and landmark preservation requirements. And then, as if by magic, Megan and her team made all that work happen, hiring and coordinating a dozen known vendors who did quality work for fair prices. For these time-constrained sellers, this stress-free experience alone provided fair value for the extra commission we paid. A special shout out here for Jeff Lipton and Pam Faaland, who organized and supervised this work. To be sure, we had differences along the way; one, for example, was about staging. But Megan made us understand we were staging the home for the market, not for ourselves, and that it was time to detach from a home we still loved. The emotional intelligence she brought to this transaction was invaluable. All this preparation was capped off by a smart marketing campaign, including mouth-watering photos, a sponsored article in Berkeleyside, a feature in Dwell magazine and a planned BAHA tour for preservation-minded buyers. (The tour was canceled due to our quick sale to a buyer who, we know, will give this special property the care it deserves. That mattered to us too.) Hiring an agent to sell your home is more than a business transaction; it is like entering into a relationship. Megan Micco and her team are not just the cream of the crop among real estate professionals. They are also genuinely nice people and a pleasure to work with, and we recommend them without reservation. read more

Some agents we interviewed used a standard approach, sticking to a set process that didn't really work for our situation. Then we met Megan. We had been in conversation with her for over three years, and when the time came to sell, she put our objectives first. Megan worked closely with us to understand exactly what we needed. She laid out a thoughtful, custom-tailored game plan and kept communication open every step of the way. Even though we knew the odds of a quick and quiet sale were low, the plan worked exactly as we'd hoped and we felt like we'd won the lottery! The buyers were delighted, and the entire process was flawless. Moving is always stressful, but Megan eased the burden by keeping us informed and connecting us with the right resources. Her strategy delivered exactly what we wanted, a quick sale, smooth process, and the price we were looking for -- all within just a few weeks. read more

We first met Megan about a year ago when we started our home search, but life got in the way. When our daughter was born a number of months later, we knew it was time to restart our search and put down roots. We re-engaged with Megan and loved her targeted approach, quantitative analysis, and 'can-do' attitude -- she gave us the confidence that we would be able to find a home quickly. Through patient listening and touring a number of properties Megan quickly came to understand our needs and budget. She also gave us a clear picture of the current market conditions and the price range we'd need to be successful. We soon found a beautifully remodeled home in Oakland's historic Idora Park district. Megan expertly advised us on an offer strategy and put together an amazing package that won us the house on our very first offer! We're so excited to move in. Megan is not only warm and friendly but also a skilled communicator who delivers outstanding service. We are so thankful to have found her and give her our highest recommendation! read more

Megan is a family friend. When we began looking to purchase a property in the Bay Area from our home in Chicago she was our first call. We weren't sure what Eastbay neighborhoods we'd be able to afford. We looked and looked for 6 months and Megan hung in there with us, helping guide us to great neighborhoods that would still have gems within our budget. During the search the market continued to appreciate and we were concerned we would be priced out of the area where we wanted to live. After bidding on several homes that we lost to higher offers, Megan found an amazing, intact historic Victorian home in north Oakland close to our family. The house wasn't staged and needed some work, but fit our needs exactly. The listing agent was from out of the area so Megan reached out to Realtors in his market to learn more about his style and how we might gain a competitive advantage. Megan developed a custom offer strategy and through her charisma and dogged determination we prevailed, even against an all cash offer that was close in price to ours. We have grown closer to Megan throughout the search and she has come to feel like family. We are so happy to have found her to guide us through our home purchase, renovation, and if we have to sell in the future. Megan Micco - Highly Recommend. read more

Megan Micco - Compass Real Estate - Real Estate Agents Near Me - Berkeley, California

We found Megan online while contemplating selling our condo and buying a single-family home. Based on all of Megan's excellent reviews, we decided to reach out. On the first offer that Megan wrote for us, we got the home of our dreams - in the neighborhood we wanted, walkable to amenities, a big backyard for our dog, and within our budget. The buying process went so smoothly with Megan that we asked for her help with the sale of our old condo. Megan and her team (Jeff, Milo, Pam) quickly jumped into action - they got our home prepped for sale, put on the market, and then quickly sold. Megan and her team navigated everything so quickly (we bought our new house and sold our old condo within about 3 months!) and they made the process so easy and seamless for us - we really couldn't have asked for a better experience and team.  The buying and selling process is inherently stressful, especially in the bay area housing market, but the entire time we were comforted by the fact that we knew Megan and her team were professional, experts at what they do, and on top of all the myriad of details. As an added bonus, Megan is a really warm, thoughtful, and socially-minded person. Thank you, Megan, Jeff, Milo, and Pam!! read more

This review is long overdue and frankly we have been very busy settling into the home Megan helped us find. Our home search initially began in Lafayette, but after some time, we realized we desired a more diverse setting and redirected our search to Berkeley. Megan came highly recommended by our Lafayette agent, and she exceeded all our expectations. We had very little idea about the Berkeley neighbourhoods but a clear list of what we wanted in the area we live. Megan was invaluable in helping us explore different neighborhoods and quickly eliminate others based on our feedback after visiting open houses. We were thrilled when we found a mid-century home in the Berkeley Hills. The combination of serenity, proximity to local parks, and the ability to walk to Kensington checked all the boxes for us. Megan's knowledge and insights into the local market were instrumental in guiding us to this hidden gem. We are new to the area and country so were very unaware of the complexities of buying in Berkeley. Working with Megan was an absolute delight. She was patient, funny, and made the entire process enjoyable. Her enthusiasm and dedication were evident in every interaction, and she went above and beyond to ensure we had all the information we needed. From providing detailed resources on estimated construction costs to navigating the complicated California home insurance market, Megan was there every step of the way. Megan's lifelong residency in the area truly shines through in her deep understanding of the neighborhoods she works in. Her expertise and passion for her work are unmatched. We wholeheartedly encourage anyone looking for a home in the Berkeley area to reach out to Megan. She is an outstanding real estate agent who will make your home-buying experience a wonderful adventure. read more

We were introduced to Megan through a family member who works in real estate and wanted to place us in the very best hands. From our first conversation with Megan, she gave us helpful tips and guidance on the home buying process. She asked thoughtful questions that got us to deeply consider our underlying motivation for buying and added a helpful lens for property evaluation. She was patient and did gently advise us against making purchases when we suggested projects that were simply too complex or expensive. At last, a unicorn of a home popped up and we were sure it was too good to be true. A mid century home with Sea Ranch energy, we were worried that we would be caught in an overbidding situation. Megan did a quick round of comps and spoke to the listing agent (who she had previously worked with) and came back with optimism that encouraged us to put forth our very best offer. She met us at the house, walked through the process and helped forecast what offer day would look like. Megan is exceptionally good at expectation management and forecasting how things are likely to go. She continually checked in with the listing agent to make sure nothing was off track. We sat anxiously waiting but we think Megan knew she had it in the bag for us. When she received photos of our young son at our first home, she sent back heart emojis and jokingly said "Baby's first mid century." This summarizes what it's like to work with Megan: fun, efficient, kind and homey. Don't hesitate to give her a call! read more

Megan provided a top notch partnership with us as we rushed to buy our first home with a baby on the way. She worked with us to see lots of houses quickly and our first offer was accepted on a competitive home! She also worked with our mortgage broker closely and demystified the offer process for us. On top of that she is very personable and easy to work with. Thank you Megan!! read more

As we began thinking about purchasing our first home, we interviewed a number of different realtors and were about to commit to one when a friend gave me a rave review of Megan. She had helped them land the first house they put an offer on, and they had loved the experience. I'm so glad I listened to my friend. We really clicked with Megan on a personal level, but even more importantly felt that Megan was the "shark" we needed to compete in this crazy housing market. She was honest with us about the likelihood of finding a 3-bedroom in Berkeley with our budget (not great), and still enthusiastic about giving it everything we had. I went in fully expecting to purchase a 2-bedroom fixer upper if we wanted to stay in Berkeley. During a tour of a couple of properties Megan asked, at the last minute, if we had time to take a look at one more home that hadn't been on our radar. She felt it might be a perfect fit and it had not received any offers on offer day. We toured the house and I couldn't stop asking "you really think we have a chance?" It was our dream home - beautiful yard, 3 bedrooms, and right next to my kids' favorite park. We scrambled to get our financing together with the lender Megan recommended, and then she carefully advised us on disclosure considerations and how to pull together a strategic offer. While we were working with the lender, Megan was coordinating with the seller's agent, who was going out of town. At one point she texted us "The seller's agent is losing service in 45 minutes, let's do this!" Somehow, within 24 hours of seeing the house for the first time, we had an accepted offer in our dream neighborhood! We're still shell shocked that we were able to find a home that met every need, is in Berkeley, and was within our budget. And now we get to be friends and community members with Megan too. read more

We found Megan in an amazing coincidence. We connected with a real estate agent in Pennsylvania while we were considering a move east to be closer to family. When I explained to her how painstakingly we'd restored and remodeled our beloved home in Berkeley and how we'd need a particularly meticulous agent to represent our sale, she lit up and told me that I should meet with her cousin, who just so happened to be an agent in Berkeley. I didn't realize how special a connection we'd made until we met with Megan in person. We had experienced an unexpected and devastating loss in our family and had to accelerate our move, and I will never forget the sensitivity and care Megan showed us during a challenging time. From the start, she and her team were incredibly professional, pragmatic, and organized. She clearly understood our home and appreciated the work we had put into the property, and went above and beyond to prepare our home for sale very quickly. We felt so well taken care of at every stage of the process - Megan's personal and detailed approach, as well as her experience and deep connections to the community, made our home sale a very seamless and entirely stress-free process from start to finish. We are forever grateful for Megan and her team. I couldn't imagine a better outcome, both financially and emotionally. read more

I turned to Megan to help sell my house after leaving realtors who did not listen to me, or even include me in decision making about the house I owned. Megan was able to sell my house for more than 40% over the list price in only six and a half weeks. She made things happen, in spite of a very tight schedule and several unusual features of the property. Her team of Jeff, Pam, and Milo kept track of all kinds of details that I would not have otherwise managed. I'm amazed. In the three years that I've been thinking about selling, I never imagined it would turn out so well. Megan Micco and her team are superb! CH Cole read more

We were introduced to Megan Micco through a co-worker who was already working with Megan. My partner and I wanted to explore different neighborhoods and find our first property to purchase. Megan's process organization and clarity stood out to us. From the initial intake call, she made herself available for questions and provided a comprehensive market update, including current macroeconomic conditions and how they may impact our borrowing power. For the initial kickoff tour, she recommended seeing a couple of properties, and we ended up finding the perfect condo during that first tour. She then applied dedicated considerable time and effort to secure the property and help us prevail against several competing offers. Throughout the escrow period there were ups and downs due, in part, to the changing California insurance market, but Megan was very well-informed and helped us remain calm. She helped us consider essential factors we hadn't even thought of from condo insurance to California Earthquake Authority coverage options. She also opened her rolodex and introduced us to insurance brokers who helped us get coverage quotes. Navigating the home-buying experience can be daunting, but Megan was there as a reliable support throughout the entire process. She didn't impose her opinions on us; instead, she guided us on how to approach each situation thoughtfully. Her approach of teaching us how to think about things proved far more valuable than simply giving prescriptive advice. We couldn't have asked for a better agent than Megan Micco and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a transformational real estate experience. read more

Megan is phenomenal in every which way, and we are so glad to have worked with her in finding our first home. Her knowledge and expertise in the Bay Area market was evident from our first meeting. We appreciated how honest and clear she was from day 1 in answering all of our questions, and loved that she's a third-generation Berkeley native. Her passion and love for the community really shines through (she makes charitable donations with every close), and this is just one of the many things that sets Megan apart. Throughout our search, she was consistent and prompt via email and text responses. When it came time to writing offers, Megan was swift and guided us through each step with care. While the first two homes we bid on didn't pan out, it was because we didn't want to go higher. Those losses, while disappointing at the time, turned out for the best since Megan found a beautiful home for us in Albany just a few days later. On a corner lot with plenty of light, in a family-oriented neighborhood that far exceeded our first home expectations - we were stunned and couldn't believe it. We 100% wouldn't have found or landed our dreamy home without Megan and we're forever grateful. Megan is the bee's knees and so, so good at what she does. She's the real deal, people. read more

You have to hire Megan if you're seeking a local agent who can provide extraordinary listing support and fantastic financial outcomes. She came highly recommended as a vetted listing agent in the North Berkeley area through a property manager who handles my investment properties. Megan also specializes in unique and historic homes, and my childhood home that we were selling and which my father rebuilt in the mid 80's, definitely fit that description. Our first meeting was professional and personable, walking through the home, Megan's genuine delight in the unique characteristics of the architecture (and her ability to identify them), made me confident in her ability to present them as benefits to potential buyers. She described how features that could have been viewed as dated, like reclaimed bowling alley floors, vintage tile, unpainted wood, and glass walls, could be positioned as elements of a unique North Berkeley home. Megan presented a comprehensive marketing plan that featured several private events and social media strategies to generate buyer demand. By the time we hit the market there was a buzz of excitement around our listing. She handled all the property preparation (I was out of state most of the time), kept me regularly updated throughout the process, reassured me on how things were going, and guided me on disclosures preparation. We were thrilled to receive 2 exceptional offers after less than a week on the market. We closed with an all-cash offer only 8 days later. Megan helped us hit our financial goals, leaving us with a great feeling about the transaction and letting go of our beloved Berkeley home. Before we met Megan, we were struggling to navigate the Bay Area market, and had yet to find a good match with a realtor who both understood our goals and was dogged in helping us achieve them. Luckily, good friends of ours introduced us to Megan. They had been represented by Megan during their own search and purchase, and had wonderful things to say. Needless to say, Megan lived up to their reviews. We had a good idea of what we wanted as first-time home buyers, but found ourselves in an incredibly competitive market and narrowly lost out on our first couple of offers. Despite the losses, Megan was with us every step of the way. She walked us through the process, helped set our expectations, and provided invaluable expertise leading up to and on offer day. Though we lost the first two homes we bid on, we were in the top 3 bidders each time, and gained invaluable knowledge. We felt more and more prepared as the search went on. We finally found a property on a beautiful corner lot, with a backyard, wood floors, and gorgeous light in a lovely neighborhood. Megan showed her mettle on offer day, staying in constant touch with the listing agent and pushing hard to make sure we emerged victoriously. After the sale, Megan advised us about the closing process, shared recommendations for local tradespeople, and even sent over dinner on move day so that we didn't have to cook. We are in love with our new home and attribute our successful purchase entirely to Megan and her knowledge and skills. She is a strategic agent, an expert advisor, a skilled communicator, a fierce negotiator, and an all around lovely human. We were introduced to Megan through a friend who is a home stager and works with dozens of different real estate agents each year. She told us that Megan was the best. We had already interviewed a few other realtors, but hadn't been wowed until we met Megan. Her presentation was far superior to anything we had seen, from her focus on social justice to the deep support provided by her team throughout the listing process. She provided impeccable references and even projected the presentation on our big TV to make it easy for everyone to see. It was a slam dunk! Megan and her team executed the listing preparation flawlessly. We moved out on Monday and the property was on the market the next Saturday after painting, cleaning, refinishing our deck, and beautifully staging the house. We felt deeply supported throughout the process, both professionally and emotionally. And of course the outcome was incredible! We received an all cash offer for $1M more than our asking price and we closed in just 9 days, less than 3 weeks after moving out. Our stager friend was absolutely right--there are dozens (if not hundreds) of real estate agents in the inner East Bay and Megan is, hands down, the absolute best! read more

As a first time home buyer, the whole process can be so daunting! My #1 piece of advice is to work with people you trust. Enter Megan Micco... Megan helped me feel at ease due to her deep experience, calm confidence, and willingness to answer all my questions. She was relatable, a good listener, and bonus - fun to work with! (Honestly, I miss touring homes with her!) We started shopping right when COVID hit and then I decided to take a pause, because the world was feeling pretty crazy. She gave me the space to do so, but was ready to jump right back in when I was. She understood my budget, and concerns - purchasing a home on my own as a single woman was overwhelming. As a first time homeowner in my family, she respected what a BIG deal this was for me, and my family. After some shopping and her accurate assessments of selling prices, we adjusted the neighborhood I was shopping in and got serious about making offers, all while keeping my priorities in mind - turn key, outdoor space, and room to entertain. I landed in an awesome home, in a great neighborhood in East Oakland (where I am from, and now proud to be a homeowner), and stayed within my budget. The Oakland real estate market is competitive and you need an agent, like Megan, who knows the market, works well with selling agents, communicates every detail, and makes sure you land a home you love. After over a year of searching, and feeling totally lost and overwhelmed by the home buying process, some close friends of ours who had worked with Megan in the past suggested we call her. We interviewed her and immediately recognized that we NEEDED HER. During our first call we mentioned that one of our top priorities was to find an architecturally significant home. We could hear her excitement over the phone when we mentioned this as Megan specializes in representing unique and historic homes. Shortly afterwards, Megan called with a great opportunity to purchase a classic mid-century property in a safe and quiet neighborhood. After going over our concerns with her, we realized that the house was a perfect fit for our long-term needs. We had been working with a real estate agent friend and under their guidance we submitted offers on a number of homes without success. When we most recently lost out on a house that we really loved, we realized we needed a new realtor if we were serious about purchasing a new property. Following an extensive internet search we interviewed several top agents in the area and felt a deep connection with Megan from our first phone call. She clearly laid out her practice style and articulated a specific game plan to achieve our goals. Right out of the gate we could see we were now working with a truly exceptional agent. After just one tour with Megan, a house came on the market in our ideal neighborhood that we had previously ruled out because we thought it was going to sell for more than we could afford. When no other buyers showed up on offer day Megan recognized an opportunity and sprang into action. We quickly submitted an offer and within less than 24 hours two other competing offers rolled in. After a round of seller and buyer counter offers, we won the house! Megan is a magician! After working with her for less than TWO WEEKS, we are in contract in the dream house of all dream houses. We don't understand exactly how she made it all happen but we are equal parts grateful and in utter disbelief. We have already referred Megan to two of our close friends and will continue to tell the world how amazing she is. Pick up the phone and call her, just do it! read more

My husband is deeply rooted in the East Bay community and has been a personal friend with Megan for a long time. Megan has the right blend of subtle persuasion and hussle and we knew she would be the perfect person to represent our family in a home search. My husband and I had been trying to buy a home for nearly 5 years and when we saw an estate sale in the El Cerrito hills with a fabulous 3 bridge view, we went to speak with the seller. We made a strong connection with the owner and fell in love with the property. We quickly called Megan and she jumped in her car within 5 minutes to check out the opportunity. She realized the seller was looking for a connection with a buyer who would value the rich family history of the property and wanted it to feel personal, not transactional. Megan vouched for us and said she would help with paperwork but that all communications could be direct between buyer and seller. It was a wild process and very emotional. There were points when we thought the mortgage may not come together but Megan kept us on track and touched base with our lender on a regular basis to keep the deal on track. She supported us with love and compassion throughout the process. The sellers have now become family friends. We're pinching ourselves that we're so lucky. Everyone needs a Realtor who will treat your family and largest life investment with care and dignity. Therefore you owe it to yourself to choose Megan. read more

Megan recently helped find and successfully close on a first-time home purchase for one of my clients. As the Mortgage Lender for them and their extended family over many years, they trusted me to refer them to a professional Real Estate Agent who is experienced and knowledgeable with the current low inventory market. Megan made everything shine and happen! She was strategic in seeking out properties and being competitive with offers. Her communication and care during the process was top notch. The teamwork to the finish line was outstanding. Anyone buying a home in the Bay Area should consider Megan Micco as their first contact. Thank you Megan, for helping create home ownership for extremely happy buyers. It is truly what matters most. Summer Anderson - Mortgage Loan Officer with American Pacific Mortgage read more

Megan was referred to me by a long time work colleague, who Megan helped buy/sell several properties over the past few years and came highly recommended. My father was in the process of selling his home in Texas and during that time, I rushed into looking for homes and I began working with another agent. After losing out on several bids and not giving me the proper resources to feel empowered as a potential home buyer did I realize how much of a mistake that was until I decided to circle back to Megan. To sum it up, Megan knows what's up. It takes a seasoned pro to navigate the Bay Area housing market and Megan brings all her experience to help figure out the how, what, where, and when of buying a house. She toured with us over a stormy week and we were in contract on an exceptional home by the weekend. WHAT? Do yourself a favor and hire a pro. You know the old adage, you get what you pay for... read more

It was only four months ago when we first reached out to Megan about purchasing our first house, and four months later, we've already been in our amazing house for two months! It happened so quickly that it's still hard to believe. Rewind to September 2021, we had been casually considering purchasing our first house for some time and were finally thinking about it more seriously. An internet search yielded great testimonial on Megan's success as a realtor, particularly for first time buyers. We reached out to her and were surprised by how quickly she responded (within an hour!), and how personal and engaging she was during our first call. The market in Berkeley is daunting for first time buyers, and Megan's approach resonated with us right away - most of her clients get their first houses within the first three months working with her, thanks to her strategy and not wasting time and emotional energy on offers that are very likely to lose. Not only was she deeply attentive to our list of property needs, but she also shared many of our values regarding sustainability and energy efficiency. As we began our search she advised on potential upgrades for each property that would address our values, but also generate a solid return on investment over time. We wrote an initial offer which we didn't win, but the process of touring homes gave us clarity on our most important criteria which was location, the outdoor and natural light. When a property hit the market that has met most of our top priorities, we excitedly emailed Megan who went right to work putting together a comparative market analysis and reviewing disclosures with us. We followed her advice and put in our very best offer right out of the gate, and were thrilled to learn our offer was accepted - and that was within a month since we first talked to Megan. If you're looking not just for a great agent, but a deeply compassionate individual who is focused on sustainability and can advise on smart home upgrades, Megan is definitely our top recommendation. read more

Megan helped us buy our first home in Berkeley, and we absolutely recommend her 100% to anyone looking to work with an effective and kind real estate agent. We cold-emailed her towards the beginning of the pandemic, and she was fast to respond and set up a time to meet virtually and discuss what we were looking for in a home. We got the sense that Megan, of all the agents we initially talked to, really appreciated the quirkiness, character, and history of East Bay neighborhoods and houses in a way that really allowed some joy to shine through the dystopian nightmare that is the Bay Area real estate market. Over our home-buying process, Megan had an uncanny sense for what we needed from her at any given time, which was--alternatingly--patience, responsiveness, information, consolation, emotional management, and a pep talk. She knows the neighborhoods and the real estate community in the East Bay extremely well, which always made us feel like we had a leg up in the competitive house market. She took the time to get to know us personally and to learn what we were looking for in a house, and when we found the right one (all of us knew it right away), she helped us put together the most competitive offer we could and then make sure no one swooped in and outbid us at the last second. Buying a home in the Bay Area is confusing and stressful, so I can't imagine any other agent doing a better job of making the process smooth and painless as Megan did for us. We definitely recommend you reach out to her! read more

Megan has acted as both our buying and listing agent within the span of 2 years. We couldn't be happier with the results she helped us achieve! A Google search led us to Megan, and we took a chance based on her responsiveness, professionalism, and charitable giving. She returned our call promptly, went over the process of buying a home, and guided us on how to be successful. We found the perfect Craftsman in Oakland two weeks after working with Megan and got our offer accepted after the first buyer got cold feet because of Megan's diligence in staying in touch with the listing agent. Fast forward and Covid changed everything. We made the hard decision to move closer to family. We knew we would work with Megan without question. She was just as helpful as a listing agent - she did a walk through and created a project plan for small updates that would help us get the best return on our investment. She guided us through each step and amazingly got the house fully prepared for the market while overseeing kitchen updates, landscaping design, and painting, all within 10 days! We received three pre emptive offers on our home but ultimately held out and were thrilled with the final sale outcome. We could not have done any of this without Megan's guidance, knowledge of the market, and positivity. We are so thankful to have met her. If you want to efficiently buy or sell a home, Megan is your best bet. read more

Megan Micco was the listing agent on a home in Kensington. When a job opportunity came up for me at UC Berkeley we were excited to move across country but had heard stories about the crazy Bay Area real estate market. When I saw this house, I knew it would be a perfect fit and immediately contacted Megan. She responded right away and was sweet and helpful. She made the process easy and stress free by communicating proactively and even meeting me at my hotel on the evening my flight landed to hand off the keys. If you are looking for a smart, hardworking, local agent who really knows her stuff - look no further! read more

I had gotten to know Megan on a personal level after working with her children at summer camp over numerous summers. When it became time for my husband and I to start looking for homes, we knew that we wanted to find someone in the community- someone who was knowledgable, trustworthy and would help us check all the boxes we were looking for. Needless to say, we did not have to search much farther than Megan. After our first zoom meeting (this is all during the COVID-19 pandemic!!), we knew Megan was the go-getter we needed to help us achieve our home owning dreams during a difficult time. She was knowledgable, available and proactive with us and helped us find the home that we were looking for. read more

We were introduced to Megan through several different friends who had worked with her previously. Since our friends had all had such a wonderful experience working with Megan, we felt like we were in great hands right out of the gate. We began looking for a single-family home but decided to take a break to start a new business. After raising some financing for the company, we reconnected with Megan a number of months later and began an active search in earnest. We realized that our budget was limited, but it made sense to get into the housing market as soon as possible while mortgage interest rates remained historically low, and we could start building equity. We toured several places with Megan, and learned A TON from her (things to look for on-site, how to read disclosures, and unlocked a whole new "home ownership" vocabulary). We found the perfect townhouse with vaulted ceilings and big windows that allowed in plenty of light. We valued a 'turn-key' option that wouldn't require a lot of maintenance yet would meet our space needs. Megan charged forward and advised us perfectly, leading us to beat out 8 other offers to land our new home. Throughout it all, we felt like we were in incredible hands, had honest and open lines of communication, and came away with more than just a successful broker relationship, but a new friend. We are so appreciative to our community for introducing us to Megan, and plan to recommend her to other friends far and wide. read more

A good real estate agent helps you find a house, a great real estate agent helps you identify your long term goals and guides you to the house that fits, even if that means talking you out of a house that doesn't fall within the guidelines. Megan was introduced to us through our friends and past clients of hers. Through our experience with another agent prior to meeting Megan, we realized how personalized and attentive her approach was. She took the time to get to know us on a personal level which enabled her to map houses that fit our lifestyle, school, and commute considerations. We searched for the right house for several months and Megan never swayed when we asked her if we would ever find "the house". She kept our confidence high and when an adorable bungalow on a tree lined street popped up, she jumped into action. She battled to get us the house we wanted, communicated every step of the way, and empowered us to make the decisions that resulted in us buying our gem of a house. We felt well guided and cared for under Megan's stead and consider her more than an advisor now. She's a friend. Highly recommend! read more

Megan Micco is a superstar and we were blessed to find her. I was helping my daughter purchase a home and we had been working with a real estate agent for several months. We were feeling frustrated as it wasn't a great personal fit and we didn't feel well advised. We had met the agent at an open house and just fell into working with her without really interviewing alternative Realtors or considering the skills and temperament that would best meet our needs. My daughter-in-law, a real estate agent in Oklahoma, mentioned that if we were dissatisfied with our current representation she could put us in touch with a top local agent. She did some research and introduced us to Megan. Wow, What a difference Megan was! We felt like it was a great match from the very beginning. We quickly honed in on an ideal property, but it was likely to sell for more than we wanted to spend. We decided to make an offer and were competing against 5 other buyers. We didn't think we were going to get the house, but Megan stayed closely in touch with the agent on offer day and kept pitching why our cash offer would be the best option for the sellers. We never felt pressured by Megan, but at the same time she was excellent at explaining why this particular property was a unique opportunity and what the alternative (and ultimately, less attractive) options were. Her perseverance paid off when we got a call from Megan telling us we had won the home, all while she was on an out-of-state college tour with her son! I can't overstate how amazing Megan is, how professional, how effective, and really just what a great person she is. My advice to anyone looking to transact in real estate is don't settle for the first agent you meet, unless it's Megan." read more

We were introduced to Megan through good friends who had a great experience when she represented them as they bought a home in Berkeley. When our family of five starting busting out of our rental, we knew it was time to take a serious look at buying a home. As first time home buyers, the process felt daunting, but Megan put us at ease. She got down to business right away - learning what was important to us, what our budget was, and making recommendations based on our feedback. Megan introduced us to our lender who was able to get creative with our loan options. Megan was also immensely helpful in figuring out what homes are likely to actually sell for (spoiler alert - it's not the list price!), which really helped us narrow our search. When I saw a home pop up one morning online, I sent Megan the link and she was as excited as I was. We scheduled an in person tour for that afternoon, which only confirmed our interest. Come offer day, she spent the morning on the phone with the listing agent, along with our lender, making sure we had the best possible chance at getting our dream home. In the end, we were in competition with a buyer with a much larger down payment but with Megan's help, we were able to prevail! Megan left nothing to chance and thanks to her help, we are moving into our beautiful new home this week. You simply cannot do better than working with Megan! read more

We were introduced to Megan through some friends, well before we had plans to purchase a home. Time passed as our careers developed, we expanded our family, and we began to evaluate the market to get a sense of where we wanted to live and what we could afford. Megan was great at staying in touch with us during this time over multiple channels including Instagram and text, and she would consistently forecast the accurate selling price of properties we were tracking during our early evaluation process. She clearly understood the market intimately. When we were finally ready to jump in, Megan actually dissuaded us from making offers on a few homes due to the amount of repair work that would be required, and she felt we could find something that better fit our needs. We eventually found a great house in a really convenient Berkeley neighborhood near Bart and close to parks and grocery stores. Megan advised us on structural engineers, home insurance, and retrofit options which gave us the confidence to submit an aggressive offer. We found ourselves neck and neck with other buyers, but between Megan's stellar reputation and the lender she suggested to us, the listing agent felt confident to recommend our offer. We were thrilled to find ourselves in contract and are so happy that Megan was there to shepherd us through the entire process to an outstanding conclusion! read more

I can't say enough good things about Megan. My husband and I are first time home buyers, and we knew we needed a guide to walk us through the process. We both feel as though Megan delivered above and beyond our expectations of an agent. From the get-go, we felt completely at ease with Megan. Every interaction we had with her was warm, attentive, and informational. She was always honest with us and understood our emotional state as first time home buyers. Her expertise on the local community was very obvious in her strategy and network, and she was leaned in during the search, offer, and closing process. She has a knack for thinking through creative solutions during negotiations, and she is a master at making sure that all the players are doing their respective parts (whether it is building a relationship with the listing agent or reaching out to our lenders). She was (and is) our trusted advisor on buying a home, and we know that she is the first person we will call if and when we choose to sell. Megan has our highest recommendation. With Megan, you can trust you're in good hands. We can't wait to move into our new home in Upper Rockridge! read more
