Most damn fun you will have on any whisky tour. As others have said, even if you have been on tours in the US, this is so worth the time. Freeway close and plenty of parking. Such great people who are more than helpful, and will talk your ear off if you are interested. The lovely ladies are MORE than generous with the pours too. Do yourself a favor and come. Jameson Experience - Distilleries Near Me - Midleton, Colorado

Had a fun time doing the Behind the Scenes tour with our guide Peter. Hubby and I were most pleased with everything. The ONLY thing is if you want to fill your own bottle straight from the cask DO NOT purchase it online! Only in person since the one on line is apparently not the same. We had supposedly bought the personalized bottle and not the straight from the cask when online it stated it was. So we had to buy another bottle to have the experience of filling up our own bottle. Everything else was smooth and easy. We got to try various Jameson bottles giving us a fun rounded tour. I reccomend this to anyone who likes to drink. Just an fyi the original distillery is the Bow straight in Dublin. This is their 2nd location. read more

You can see all the high tech newer buildings from the grounds but you don't get to visit them. The gift shop is where your eyes will really light up. Full disclosure: I am a Jameson drinker. So naturally, I thought this tour was pretty freaking awesome. The tour starts out with a video showing the history of Jameson whiskey, and then you get a pretty detailed walk through of all of the historical old distillery buildings, complete with explanations on what purpose each building served. Many buildings still have the original working machinery inside, so you can get a very good idea of the whole whiskey making process, even if you don't actually see the whiskey being made. At the end of the tour, everyone gets one drink in the bar, but if you're very lucky, you can be one of the volunteers the guide asks for, and taste a sampling of Scotch, American Whiskey, and then Jameson so that you can compare the three. And then you get your free drink like everyone else. I was one of those lucky volunteers, and ended up with a certificate saying that I am an official Whiskey Taster - YAY! All in all, the tour took about an hour, and our guide (I can't remember her name) was a lot of fun - she was bubbly and enthusiastic, and you could tell she loved her job. After our tour, we ended up having some lunch in the café on site, which was amazingly tasty. I had a large portion of the Seafood Chowder, and my husband had the fish special of the day. Delicious! After that, we headed back to the bar to taste some very expensive, very exclusive whiskey (totally worth it), and then into the shop to buy some souvenirs and gifts for our friends (also Jameson drinkers). All in all, I thought it was a really interesting tour, and a great (and very tasty) way to spend an afternoon. I would definitely recommend the Jameson Experience to anyone, tourist or local, who happens to be in the area. read more

The whiskey apprentice tour in Middleton offers a truly in-depth look at the Middleton distillery and distilling as a whole. For those interested in both the mechanics and the craftsmanship in creating a distilled final product, this tour is immeasurably beneficial. With a limit of seven visitors per tour you'll find it to be both intimate and memorable. Included are almost all the most captivating details of all the other experiences as well as a few exclusive ones. For a final note, the description on the Jameson website does list a new make spirit tasting included in the apprentice tour. Please be sure to get clarification on that. When I took the tour, unfortunately I was not given said opportunity. I was only able to explore the new make via sense of smell. Overall, this is a stop well worth your time. Slainte! read more

We had the most excellent time doing this tour. It was super informative, with a bit of Irish wit and it was just real fun. At the end of the tour, you get a free taste of the Jameson at the bar straight or with mixers. They also have a menu you can order from (the Irish Coffee with Jameson was most excellent). The gift shop offered some offerings that were distillery specific - one being the Distillery reserve bottle of Jameson that is aged 12 years and you can get a personalized label on the bottle. This would definitely be listed as a must see in my opinion. read more

Visiting the distillery was one of my best experiences while in the Cork area. The tour itself is interesting and informative and not too long! At the end of the tour I was able to participate in a whiskey tasting as well! I enjoyed a late lunch in the café and absolutely loved the distillery salad - pan fried smoked salmon on a bed of fresh spinach with crisp bacon, pumpkin seeds, fresh sliced veggies and a delicious vinaigrette. The café also offers a variety of baked goods such as pecan and apple pie. The gift shop has a variety of souvenirs but my favorite was the whiskey filled truffles - wish I had purchased more than two bags. read more

After realizing that I would be in Cork for my birthday this year, I knew exactly where I wanted to celebrate (hint hint, it was at the Jameson Experience). We enjoyed excellent service and a great environment throughout. From the worker at the front desk to the tour guide, we were impressed with the level of friendly engagement on the part of the individuals running the show. The tour itself was wonderful. We learned an exceptional amount about the Jameson distilling process. It was intimate and intensive, unlike the Guinness tour in Dublin. Out of the two, this one definitely felt more worthy of our limited time in the country. After spending ample time exploring the distillery, we were all given a taste test of an American whiskey, scotch, and Irish whiskey (Jameson). The Jameson was easily the best of the lot. We got to continue celebrating after with a free drink coupon at a cozy bar inside the main building. The gift shop was a bit pricey, but featured an excellent selection of rare Jameson bottles that are difficult to obtain elsewhere (Duty free at the Dublin airport actually had most of the same items, just as a heads up). Overall, this was one of the best birthdays I've had in a long time! read more

Fantastic experience! I loved the guided tour of the Jameson Distillery. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and very tolerable and friendly to the young kids. The tour was informative without being boring. I actually found a new found appreciation for the Jameson and all of the work that goes into making an Irish Whiskey. This is a distillery tour of the Jameson Distillery so if you have been on other distillery tours then you know what to expect. It was a good tour, interesting, and there's a tasting at the end. Tips: - when they ask for volunteers, you should. At the end you will get to do a whiskey tasting. - you can have Jameson neat or Jameson and ginger with a lime at the end - gift shop has a lot of good stuff, but if you are buying liquor to take home I'd recommend buying duty free at the airport. If you are buying it to drink right now, then I say go for it. I am not a whiskey or whisky or bourbon drinker at all - too many bad nights in college on Jack Daniel's and Crown Royal and Jim Beam and, well, many others. HOWEVER, I have to admit that I developed a taste for the Jameson and ginger and drank it many nights after this tour. New fan made? Yes. But even better - my mom, who doesn't normally drink and certainly doesn't drink whiskey, loved it and also drank it many nights in the pub. Two new fans made? YES! I now have a bottle of Jameson in my bar. And unlike the bottle of Jack Daniel's, the bottle of Jameson is for ME! read more

A great, if slightly expensive tour of a former distillery. Our guide was not the happiest about giving the tour, but she would perk up in certain areas or if you talked to her one on one. You get to tour from the beginning of whiskey creation to the final product in a tasting. If you want to become a certified whiskey taster, speak up at the end...it can get filled very quickly. Even if you don't like whiskey straight, they have options for you. I had Jameson and cranberry juice, which was very very tasty. They also mix it with OJ and Coke. At first I thought the tour was over priced, but I was pleasantly surprised by the knowledge of our guide. The tour itself wasn't overwhelmingly exciting, but it was definitely informative- especially if you're interested in whiskey. My favorite part was at the end where they give you a sample of three different types of whisky, one American, one Irish, and one Scottish, and you have to guess which is which. After hearing how each are made, it was really interesting to taste them side by side. Our group was small which was nice because we saw some tours with 30+ people. read more

Having been on a Bourbon tour in Kentucky, this was similar. We got there early and had a few drinks at the bar before the tour. The tour itself is about an hour a very informational and good. At the end of the tour, they ask for about 8 volunteers. If you get chosen you will do a whiskey, bourbon, and scotch tasting. The prices in the gift shop are more expensive than Cork Airport Duty Free so I just got the versions exclusive to the distillery. read more

After a disappointing trip to the Guinness brewery in Dublin we were a bit cautious about the Jameson Experience in Middleton, but our fears were completely unfounded. It was a wonderful tour through the old distillery buildings with the new distillery looming in the distance. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and they had plenty to see over the course of the hour. At the end of the tour we were treated to a whiskey tasting of the Scottish, American and Jameson varieties so we could experience the difference in flavors, we also were able to enjoy a complimentary Jameson cocktail made with ginger ale and a slice of lime. We stopped here on our tour of cork and we were pleasantly surprised by the tour. The Tour was conducted by a lovely and very knowledgeable woman who took us through the whole distillation process of Jameson whiskey. We were able to walk through all the different rooms and learn a lot about the history and the process. The tour concluded with a whiskey tasting and glass of Jameson. I had high hopes for this tour after reading the good reviews. Turns out it was just ok; definitely more to tour, explore & look at than the Old Distillery Tour in Dublin. Both tours run the same, they choose 8 volunteers to serve as "Whiskey Tasters" at the end. (Don't appear too over eager or you won't get picked). It was nice to explore the old buildings but I really felt a little rushed as our tour guide was leading a very large group. There were a large number bus tours there when we arrived. Overall, nice experience; I'd choose this tour over the Old Distillery Tour in Dublin if you were on the fence. read more

It's a little confusing when you walk in and you only want to do the tastings. But otherwise the staff was great, especially upfront. They provide the individual tastings and bar offerings. Food in the back. Parking can get crowded, but you should be able to find a spot. Love the way they reused the barrels to become chairs! read more

I participated in the general distillery tour offered to guests. I was a little disappointed in the tour because it felt rushed. I am a whiskey lover and was hoping to have a tour with detail and stories like I got at Tullamore and Kilbeggan earlier this week. That was unfortunately not the case here. We spent no more than 5 minutes at each point through the tour and weren't given much info. Additionally there wasn't time to ask questions, and when questions were asked, the guide didn't know the answers. Over all not bad, but not great either. read more

This was super fun. I'm actually not a whiskey drinker at all. I think that's because I had only tried bad american whiskeys. I did the whiskey tasting at the end of the tour. What a great experience! Definitely do it! Even if you don't like whiskey! I learned a ton. We tasted three whiskeys, jack Daniels, Jameson and Jim bean. It was so interesting to actually be able to notice differences. Jameson doesn't burn! It's still not my drink of choice, but I have an appreciation for it. The tour was provided by a friendly and educated docent who took time to answer any and all questions as well as keep us all involved.
