I'm not one to impulsively review a business negatively. I actually like to reach out to resolve my…read moredifferences due to understanding customer service and healthcare as I work in it, but I have to say this has been the worst experience I have had with a PCP HMO practice. Absolutely no care for patient care, only want you to schedule physicals and then downplay your real issues when discussed. The only PA that was actually caring was Lindsay and she left and that's when it became very apparent this practice is lacking. Called several times for real medical concerns and was told to call back @7:30 in the am every day to see if could be triaged in that day, but never was. Sad and disappointed in the healthcare system, but I transferred recently and it was a big reminder to never settle as there are healthcare providers who actually want to see you instead of sending you to urgent care or ER!

To start of with : I have had good experiences with Nurse Pam and Dr Novak…read more However, the administrative side of this practice is really problematic. 1) Most appointments (in my experience) run much later than scheduled (in some cases more than 1 hour!). The practice says that if the wait time becomes too long they can reschedule, however I recently had to wait even longer during the rescheduled appointments. The actual appointments feel incredibly short and brief, but I guess this is the unfortunate state of healthcare in the US, wherein you only get to talk to your doctor for less than 15 minutes. Appointments do feel fairly rushed. 2) The front desk seems to be very disorganized with keeping track of payments, be careful to save all your receipts or risk getting constant letters that you owe money to the practice! In my experience, they have not properly recorded co-payment and claimed that I did not pay. I have otherwise had good experiences here, but these issues (long waits and poor billing organization) sadly makes for an altogether poor experience

I have been seeing Dr. Novak on and off for over 25 years. He is an excellent Doctor and I would…read morehighly recommend him. He is independent and open minded, and will not try to corral you or subject you to one size fits all medical treatment. This is a small independent medical office, one that is increasingly rare these days, so what you might have to sacrifice in waiting times or sometimes overworked front office staff is more than made up for by the quality of personal medical treatment you will get from Dr. Novak.

There's just something unusually poor about Tess Maloney that compels me to write a review. I've…read morebeen to this health care center several times, but I usually see Dr. Anderson. I don't understand how Tess has a job here, but I have my suspicions. From what I've observed, Tess basically sits in her office until it's absolutely necessary to see a patient. She seems to resent the work, and would rather just look at her computer all day. Her role appears to be more of a manager than a provider. The two times I did have an exam with her, she rushed through it entirely too fast and didn't even listen to me. The second time I saw her will be my last. I was in pain for two days, and the first day afterwards it hurt to sit down. I'm going to UCSD from now on. Avoid at all costs. Anyone who doesn't take care of their own health, shouldn't be managing yours.

The sub par trend continued when I met Dr Allen. He seamed uninterested and mostly annoyed that he was talking with me. After asking only a few questions he ordered a blood and urine test, which I did. I was told I would hear back from them with the results in 3-5 days. After 7 days and not hearing from them I called them only to get a voice mail box to leave a message. The next day I get a call back to say they used the wrong form to send the test in and they have to redo it can I come back. I was there in 2 hours to see the same sloppy guy behind the counter. I was told to go pee in a cup again. This time when I put the cup back in receptacle, there was another patients full cup still in there waiting to be received. GROSS. Once again a week and half later I have not heard from them. I called and was forced to leave a message again, two days has gone by and I still have not heard back from them. I am unimpressed, and have no confidence in the doctor or his staff. I will not be going back nor will I recommend them to anyone else.

I can only say wonderful things about this office. I'm sad that my girls recently had to go to an…read moreadult doctor since they turned 18. All 3 of my children were seen by Mary for years since birth. I had all premature babies so I had to go in often. One had asthma in which we had to deal with for years. This child also ended up with RSP? & ended up at children's for 5 days, Mary followed up with us & checked in to make up she was okay. When I asked about different vaccines Mary did NOT recommend every vaccine. I appreciated that because sometimes some doctors push things that I'm unsure of. She works with infectious diseases & I felt comfortable listening to her. One other child has adhd, in which I felt needed help with school. I requested medication. Mary switched medication 3 different times & helped find the correct type & dosage without side effects. The other child had bad eczema in which required allergy testing & various testing for rashes. She was also my wild child & got stitches several times. With her allergies she had stomach problems so we dealt with bathroom issues. Thankfully she sent that one to Children so we didn't end up with a mega colon. BUT The most grateful thing Mary Aspin did for my family wasn't for medical. She will always be our hero. She came to a trial to support & be with one of my children to testify against a non family child abductor. She did not have to do this. It was on her own time & caring love to support our family. She stood in since we weren't allowed in the court room while one of my kids testified against a creep. By being there. I feel my daughter felt comfortable testifying & getting a creep convicted. She has gone beyond being a doctor with all she has assisted us in our life! She is very knowledgeable & she is blunt but she has to be because she has a lot of patients & needs to keep the office moving. The office can get a little crazy busy there but I have always been happy with Sharp. I always write all my symptoms & questions down before going so we are in & out in a timely manner. People that are late or aren't ready for appointments can affect visits. I have always been happy with the ways they explain answers if I don't understand a condition or medication my child had.
