I just wanted to make a correction in my previous review, which I really appreciated the information. The kid goats on-site do not actually provide the milk for the goat cheese, but they are the babies of the mamas that do. The cheese actually comes from Breen Mesa Farms which is a local business, either way it's all great cheese and you can purchase it at the ranch.

The cows at this ranch in the Animas Valley are hormone and antibiotic free! They process the cows at 18-30 months of age to maximize marbling, tenderness and flavor. This beef is dry aged for 21 days and then cut and wrapped. We have bought grass fed, organic beef here three times. The first two times were one pound packages of ground beef. These were nothing like store bought beef, they formed super juicy burgers with a wonderful beefy taste. This last time we stopped in like a Boy Scout. We brought a cooler from home and were prepared to buy in bulk. We settled on the sizzling deal package for $86.70. This package comes with 2 pounds of ground beef patties, .99 pound of beef flank steak, 2.12 pounds of top sirloin cap, 1.31 pounds of petite rib roast, and 1.22 pounds of boneless top sirloin steak. This works out to $11.34 a pound, BUT you have to remember you are paying for quality. There is nothing like this hormone and antibiotic free grass fed, organic meat. This meat is healthier than grain fed beef and is higher in CLAs and Omega 3s. They also offer a savory package for $81.60 which includes chuck roast, diamond cut rump roast, short ribs, stew meat and soup bones. The total poundage of these cuts is more than the sizzling package so the price per pound would be less (but you are also paying for about 3 pounds of soup bones). Next time you are in Durango, give this place a try, just remember they are not open on Monday-Wednesday during the winter.

This place was really cool and very tasty. I got their veggie burger, garden salad and a beer. All of the ingredients were really fresh. The environment outside is so beautiful! It was a really great place to bring my dog. There are tons of tables to choose from out in the open, under the patio/deck, or under a cute apricot tree. We got caught in a sudden downpour and had to move early on but it was still a great experience. I would definitely recommend.

Beautiful surroundings, great food, great COVID-19 set-up. Lots of spread-out outdoor seating, masks required, sanitizer available, social distancing markers on the ground. We had the veggie sandwich, BLT, apple kale slaw and fingerling potatoes - everything was delicious.

Absolutely incredible. Not only was the atmosphere breathtaking - most memorable lunch experience and food on our entire trip so far. We had some drinks and the best burgers, ever with a view that could not be beat !

Wow! The most beautiful place on earth. It's like waiting in paradise until Jesus comes... Great views, great burgers, great shopping in their market. Loved sitting on the picnic tables and watching the sun, grass and livestock. Nothing like it. Found this nice lady at the farmer's market in Durango. Had to check out the farm. Thanks for making my trip their unforgettable. PLEASE NOTE: This would have been a five but I reserve five (5) stars for my last meal. Just haven't found it yet. One day...

One day, Eric and I went on a day trip to Piedra Hot Springs, a lovely, little riverside springs…read morethat seep into the cold river water unless you use rocks to dam the warm water and make pools. That's right - no man-made construction + few people = perfect summer day. We emerged from the springs feeling relaxed...and famished. Luckily, Chimney Rock Farm was nearby. They were advertising sandwiches, so we stopped in. We got a sandwich. Then another. Then a carrot cake cupcake with a pile of cream cheese frosting. Then a jar of pickled beets, a ton of fresh produce, and a bottle of plum vinegar. And then we were poor. But happy. Chimney Rock is an organic farm, which means I admire them very much. They also make a ton of yummy things in jars - conserves, pickles, apple butter, preserves, and beets. And THEN they make tons of delicious food on-site per order. Breakfast burritos, pastries, bread and other baked goods, sandwiches, and sides. Their potato salad is rockin', and their raw broccoli salad is delish. For sandwiches, I highly recommend the shredded beef. A fun place to stop if you're traveling between Pagosa and Durango. Sadly, too far a way to drive JUST for the farm.

While taking a day tour with a group from Pagosa Springs we traveled 160 to Durango. The driver…read morecasually mentioned the Farm as we passed and then included "The ladies make really good sandwiches and sitting on the porch is the best way to enjoy them." He was correct. We made it back for lunch the next day. It is about 20 minutes from Pagosa on the south side of the highway. Fast? no fresh is rarely fast. If you want fast go to the burger drive through before you leave Pagosa. This place was refreshing and the Colorado breeze coming across the porch was better than any air conditioner invented. They usually have one or two soups daily as well as a small sandwich menu. The sandwiches are prepared in a panini press. All greens are grown on the farm. If you are into organic and fresh, don't drive by, stop and enjoy.
