He greets me with a great big smile each time he sees me. He is very caring, very smart, and very congenial. I measure every other doctor I see by his standards. He keeps up with everything about me and my medical conditions and I know I can count on him to know what he is talking about when he prescribes medicine or refers me to a specialist for treatment. I had a credit from the "other side." Who knew that 1) the two sides of the business do not use each other's forms of payment and 2) they have two different reservation system for the same services on two different sides of the building and I was to know "who I spoke too" and "how I booked my appointment." (I showed them my phone call log and the text sent to me from the spa side to make a reservation. Though I was told they share the same phone numbers.) Even typing this complicates me further. The entire transaction before and after the treatment was so appalling. And the way they treated me. I will use this in training across the US on how a few simple poorly handled customer service transactions can cost you thousands of dollars. As after this fiasco I cancelled my next procedure with a doctor that was quiet expensive.

I think my pregnant daughter got annoyed at the lengthy discussion he and I had about UF and Jax. Haha! He's younger, easy on the eyes (that never hurts Hehe), easy to talk to, and has an excellent bedside manner. I SO wish he was actually in practice here in Jacksonville because I have been looking for a great gyn for years and years now. I'm still looking! He answered all my questions I had about my daughter's pregnancy and didn't rush us at all. He knew I was visiting from 650 miles away and he knew it was going to take a miracle for me to get there in time once she went into labour. When he delivered my sweet little granddaughter, Annabelle Marie, he was so patient with my daughter (and my daughter went all natural during her delivery). She couldn't have had a better doctor. I also love the fact he is affiliated with St. Dominick's Hospital in Jackson, which just happens to be my hospital of choice in the area. Two thumbs up, Dr. Baten... you're awesome!

My mother was in tears for hours after leaving her first ever appointment with Dr. Amundson…read moreyesterday morning. During the visit, she experienced treatment that both she and I believe was influenced by prejudice. The lack of compassion and coldness while addressing her is something she has never experienced from a surgeon or doctor before. Every symptom and issue she described, he repeatedly insisted was a mental health concern and that she should consult a psychiatrist. Her recent medical history could not have been fully reviewed because she has already seen two psychiatrists, as requested by the insurance company. Both psychiatrists determined that she is competent and that her ongoing and severe pain is not a psychological issue. He claims to have studied her most recent MRIs, yet both scans she has had in the last six months show that she has arthritis, a tumor, and degenerative disc disease. The DDD is causing her L4 and L5 bones to grind against each other. Yet he looked my mother in her face and said "you are not in pain and need to seek a psychiatrist." He also stated that the discectomy that she underwent surgery for in 2023 for a bulging disc was "unnecessary and useless".
