They use some kind of algorithm to fake the location you searched for, so you THINK they are local. ---then they whip out their INSTACART app and order your flowers from whatever local grocery store has a floral department in the town you searched for. ---if the hungover 19 yr old filling the order screws up or just DOESN'T deliver the order, there's not much James Cress florist can do about it! It looked nothing like what we ordered (the flowers themselves and the color assortment), was mainly fillers, and looked thrown together haphazardly. I spoke to customer service twice and kept getting the run around that "they were looking into it" instead of just making it right and sending my sister a better arrangement. (They kept claiming they had the wrong number on file for me even when I corrected them when they read it back the first time we spoke.) Horrible. Their customer service is conduct by ai, and I only realized that it was ai after I called multiple times and they told me that's why nothing was working or making sense. It's completely unacceptable to have ai conducting customer service without a human even reviewing it. I was trying to find my new florist on the east coast, and I was excited to try this business again after last year went great. But it botched the entire interaction, gave me incorrect information, wasted my time, accomplished nothing, and I still had to spend an hour with all the calls and emails to deal with the fallout. When I expressed that this was challenging, they didn't offer a partial refund or a coupon or anything. If I could give them less than 1 star I would! The only reason I ordered flowers with this company was because they promised to deliver on Mother's Day. However, after the order, we never got any delivery updates. I called on Mother's day at lunch since the flowers hadn't arrived and they said all they could do was message the florist a message to make sure they delivered them. I asked if I could call the florist directly and they said customer service doesn't have visibility on this information. They also close at 3pm east coast time, so there's no one to follow up with after that. After the flowers never arrived on Mother's Day, I emailed them and got a bot reply that I would be refunded. They have not done so yet. I've now been put on hold with them for 10 minutes and they cannot give me a reason for not delivering the flowers and have yet to issue a refund. I like to think I'm good with searching on the internet but this time was a miss, but also a hit! I live in upstate NY and was searching for a florist in Buffalo, NY to send flowers to a funeral service. James Cress Florist came up in the search and I did not look at the address before I selected my flowers. I did not realize they are located in Long Island and after paying for my order I wondered how that was going to work with delivering the flowers on time - it's at least a 7 hour car ride! After ordering I received an email confirmation with a phone number and email for questions. I emailed right away with my delivery concern. The next morning I also called the store in Smithtown, NY. I explained my situation and concern and the lovely person who answered the phone (sorry I cannot remember her name) assured me the flowers would be there on time and look very similar to what I had ordered online. The floral team works with a network of florists and has a partner in Amherst. I felt relieved after this call. I also received an email a short time later providing similar comforting information. The funeral was the next day. I arrived to find the beautiful standing spray arrangement located near the casket, having arrived well on time, with the card and message. While it is different from the picture on the website it was still lovely! I am so appreciative of the James Cress team and their network. The flowers were perfect and the family appreciated them. We would not hesitate to use James Cress Florists again. Thank you! read more

Paid approximately $150 for a boutique-style floral arrangement ordered on December 31st. What was delivered looked nothing like what was advertised. There was no artistry, structure, or resemblance in design, color, or flowers. It looked like loose grocery store flowers placed into a large vase, which is unacceptable for the price. Customer service made the situation worse. It took multiple emails just to receive an apology. When I requested a refund, I was told it would only be issued if the florist picked up the arrangement from the recipient's home. I agreed just to resolve the issue. Despite complying, I was later told the refund could not be processed because they were having issues communicating with their florist. That is an internal business issue and should not be passed onto the customer. Over a week later, this remains unresolved. I would not recommend this service. read more

The flowers were ordered from a "local florist" website in Houma , LA. I entered the information for the recipient and my own billing address. Somehow the flowers for my friend ended up being delivered to my house in FL, not to my friend's address as I input on the order form when purchasing in LA. I called customer service and the woman on the phone said she could not deliver flowers to my friend because on her end it said that the delivery was the same as the billing address. I entered a completely different address for delivery, the woman blamed me for the mistake and would not make it right even though I spent close to $85 on flowers that were just so so when they arrived. I ordered flowers for mothers day. Instead of going to the big named flower delivery services I decided to give my business to the smaller guys. Well that failed. I ordered a week in advance and when the time came, nothing was delivered. I called them directly and was put on hold for 10 mins. I hung up and called again. I got somebody right away. They forgot about me. When I inquired about my order, they said it was cancelled due to not having resources to fulfill the order. I never received a notice. They said they are using new software and will inform the IT department about it. I don't care. My mother did not get her flowers. Never again will I use a smaller company.
