    I am updating my review to a one star. IMO you don't need the white glove service. My husband and I could lift the pieces. It was just another way for them to get $975 out of me with the fear of how heavy the items were! What a joke! And the assembly the delivery guys did is comical.

    You are obviously very polished at replying to bad reviews and complaints, it's clearly a theme. What's more your claim about free damage is an utter joke, clearly this has never been about free damage but even if it was table came fully crated in plywood. In talking with the freight company about the disservice you're trying to push upon them, and me for that matter they advised that they do not wait for someone to get tools in and create the product for inspection and your insinuation otherwise is comical and clearly part of your eye are disgusting in reprehensible business practices. I recently bought some additional furniture and actually thought about buying furniture from another Boutique manufacture but then reflected on my experience with you and bought it through Restoration Hardware instead where I can be assured of a decent product and reasonable customer experience.

    We ordered one of their desks for our new home and are very pleased with our purchase. We even copied the overall design of the room in their promotional photo for the overall design of our office.

    I ordered the Arthur tin Maplewood and a harvest wheat finish. The picture below is what I received as you can see. They are two different stains. James and James is refusing to fix this issue and claims that this is a variation of what I ordered. So you can order a black stain and possibly get a brown stain or white stain or orange stain and they will claim it is simply a variation. The base is not secured to the table top. I received the base and table top separately in the same delivery, but they were not secured to one another so right now the table wobbles I can simply remove the table top from the base. I can spin the table top. Again they are not secured to one another . James and James is refusing to give me instructions on how to properly secure it. Peyton who has been "helping" me, has no idea how to help me. She has been no help what so ever. This is a very disappointing purchase.

    If I could give a zero I would have! I would not purchase anything from James and James because they would not stand by their product for me! The first issue we were told the table and chairs would be in in 6 weeks and it actually came in 13 weeks. At the beginning the customer service was amazing very friendly but when we received the set was when the customer service changed. The stain was not correct and NOTHING like the pictures on their website. When I complained about this they said that I got what I paid for and stain takes differently to different pieces of wood, which I completely understand. However, it had a gray stain on it and they were insistent that it was not gray, that it was exactly what I ordered. IT WAS NOT! I know the difference and can tell if something is gray or not. They are completely unwilling to take any responsibility for anything! After the delivery people opened the box there were several marks on the table that they blamed on the delivery people. Doesn't James and James pack the item up before the delivery company picks it up? There were red tape marks on the table from the tape they told me to give it a good cleaning with a little "elbow grease" really...I need to scrub a brand new table?????Although they maintained their fake nice customer service they were never going to help me, again, they refused to take responsibility! The table wobbles and when I told them they told me to tighten the legs and when we turned the table over we notice the leg was completely broken. When I sent them pictures they agreed to replace the leg but it would take 2-4 weeks. I called this morning to get a status (because we are unable to use the table for fear it will fall on someone) l had to leave a message with still no response. In all fairness the 4 weeks is this Friday July 30th so they have 3 days left for the 4 week timeline which I don't have high hopes for. Also, the chairs look like something you can get at any low budget store they were cheap and crack and squeak when you sit on them and the stain is blotching and just bad quality. James and James should not be doing business like this I spent a lot of money for something that is sub-standard quality in my opinion. I hope whoever reads this will take it to heart and not let their friendliness fool you! Buyer Beware!!!!

    We ordered a table and did not pay extra for the white glove service, but should have. It took about 4 weeks longer than the original estimate, which was not a big deal. When it was delivered, the base was cracked in several places. Because I signed for the delivery, they said there was nothing they could do. They should have said there was nothing they will do, as other companies are able to provide solutions. When our table was delivered, the top was in a crate with about 12 screws holding the crate together. The base of the table had at least 8 screws holding in packaging. So in order to fully inspect it for damage prior to signing, I would have had to make the delivery men stay for about 20 - 30 minutes while I unscrewed and unpacked the table. I guess the people at James and James have never had a delivery to their home, but this is not reasonable. I can't believe you need a customer to suggest this, but perhaps you should automatically add a few hundred dollars to the already pricey furniture to cover insurance for delivery/shipping problems? From reading other reviews on here, it is a common occurrence and probably the reason for the MANY poor yelp ratings.

    Bar Stool

    We ordered four black bar height stools. After 12 weeks they arrived and they were counter height. We were told " 12 more weeks" for the correct stools. The new stools arrived and they are not black. We contacted customer service and they said " they are within our black tolerance ". Refused the return. Had to have them stained ourselves. Horrendous service top to bottom.

    Design of furniture is fine but quality of paint / finish is poor... buyer beware. Outdoor furniture will not last....Paint will chip off

    THIS is what I'm looking for in a local gift shop! First of all, location: Center Street Mercantile is not on Center Street anymore - it's on Block Street in the same shopping center as Little Bread and Dark Star. It's a welcome change, much easier to get to with a better parking situation. parking nearby is paid during weekdays, but it's free nights and evenings. There are coin meters and you can get more than an hour of time with $0.25. Second, the goods: Nice variety here of party food, decorative bowls, jewelry, local carvings... Good hodgepodge of things. You'll pay more here than at a big-box store but the goods are fairly priced. They also have a farm fresh eggs sometimes! Third, the candles: Yes, the candles get their own category. The owner of the store has a collection of candles he has made that are scented like different hot spots in Northwest Arkansas - Majestic Lounge, Common Grounds (RIP), Thorncrown Chapel, the ballpark... and they really capture the scent of each of these places! I would buy the entire collection if I had the money, but I do have four of them. Fourth, the owner: SUPER nice! He's always been super friendly when I am in the store but he doesn't look over your shoulder while you're shopping. He's really knowledgeable about everything in the shop. The store is generally open Tuesday through Saturday, but I was super thrilled it was open on a Sunday for the Christmas season and I definitely spent my money there today. I'm really happy to support this local business.
