Expect a wait but I can see why and it's worth it. Great food, good service, and a nice atmosphere. See the pics.

Jam Cafe in Victoria may not have started the brunch craze, but it sure put it on the map. I have utterly stuffed my belly full, at all three Metro Vancouver locations & I loved it! The original location here is a pilgrimage to make, when in Victoria. Get here before 9am or you'll be waiting over 90mins to get in - restaurant size is small. The setting is in a cool rustic atmosphere. Portions are humongous & very filling - the menu options are incredible. Drip coffee, one of the best in town. Service always on point. So I've made my pilgrimage - will you make yours?

A classic breakfast/ brunch place that's so worth the wait. They're quite often lined up, but we woke up early and managed to get in with no wait just shortly after they opened. The service is great here and the staff are super friendly. The food is HUGE portions, so come hungry, or at least ready to take some leftovers home! They were well lined up after we finished our meal, have patience to wait for your table!

On a cruise and was looking for a place to have brunch in Victoria. The reviews sold it. Especially saying they had a wait time most times. So Thursday morning we pull up and I Uber my Mom and I to Jam. Did we have to wait. Yes! Was it worth it? YES! We only waited about 20 minutes in beautiful weather, in beautiful Victoria. We had been looking at the menu( online and in person) so we knew what we wanted. My Mom got grapefruit juice and I had a wonderful lavender mimosa. My mom had the Gravy Coop. I had the Fat Elvis and Crispy Bri and Rosemary Peach Benedict. The only only complaint was the eggs. No flavor pale yoke. We really wish they were farm raised eggs. With the Gravy Coop, her chicken and hash browns seasoned well and crispy and the biscuit!!!! Order is solo if you have to!! Best biscuit Ever!!My Fat Evlis Waffle. DELICIOUS! I tried to take the rest on the boat with me. The flavor is so good. If you like a peanut butter banana sandwich you will love this. My Benedict, I wish the brie was not panko coated and fried. Just egg wash and flour. It took away from the flavor of the brie and it didn't go well with the dish. The Rosemary Peaches. I wish the peaches were sweet, but Rosemary and Peaches is so good. My hash browns were also wonderful. Staff is so sweet and amazing and that was needed visiting a new Country/City. Would I go back? As fast as I can book a flight!!!!!

There was a brief wait to sit (less than the 20 minutes quoted). Everyone was extremely friendly. The menu is extensive and everything looked delicious. I got the Cracker Jack French toast which had Nutella and bananas. It was delicious. It had whipped cream on the side and a nice side of fresh fruit. I shared it and had some of the savory Benedict dish of my co-diner. I'd definitely keep this on our list and come back. The restaurant is so cute. It was decorated for the holidays.

Heard a lot of good things about Jam Cafe and that it was highly recommended so decided to give it a try. The interior is really cute and they have a good variety of brunch items to choose from. My one downside is that nothing I ate was that special and all the food items just felt really heavy and over salted in my opinion. I feel like because of the ambiance, nicely plated foods and huge portions, this place is worth trying once, but I don't think this is somewhere I'd come again if I needed a regular brunch spot.

Inside and a bar too!

I am not sure what was better the food or the staff! Everything was DELICIOUS and the people were so nice! I would suggest if you're not a lumberjack that you might consider sharing! Huge portions of fabulous food!!!kudos

Oh man. Jam Cafe is honestly the best breakfast place I've ever been too. Ever since my first time at this location almost 10 years ago, my family has been going regularly to the ones in Vancouver over the years and after all that time, the food is still phenomenal! Even though our male waiter let us know it was only his 2nd shift and he was still learning, he was great. Kind and attentive, and knowledgeable about all the dishes and specials. The French toast bite special sounded so good so I got that and a side of scrambled eggs. I'm fairly confident I've tried more than half of the menu but these LARGE cinnamon sugar coated pieces of French toast were hands down my favorite meal I've ever had here. After I drizzled some maple syrup and the cream cheese icing that came with it on top, they honestly tasted like mini cinnamon rolls. Absolutely insane! The scrambled eggs were great too. Soft and tasty and not over done! The rest of my family all loved their food as well. No complaints from anyone! The thing about Jam is you get a lot of food! Especially those Charlie bowls so my mom and sister probably only ate half, maybe a bit more! But we ended up sharing the French toast bites around the table and everyone agreed they were incredible. It makes me happy knowing I can keep visiting their various locations and the food will always be fantastic and the workers will always provide a positive atmosphere. I said it almost 10 years ago and I'll say it again, you HAVE to eat at Jam Cafe if you haven't tried it yet. It's simply the best.

Pork belly Benedict

Outstanding food and service. Server was attentive, knowledgeable and really pleasant - offering recommendations for dinner spots for later. Pork belly Benedict was perfect. Soft and delicate egg poach, creamy hollandaise, and delicious onion jam. Crispy & buttery hash browns. Big egg omelet with amazing maple bacon, diced tomatoes and cheese with a side of salsa. Highly recommend

Thankfully, it was not raining outside while we waited for a table to open up. Heard that it's sometimes a two hour wait but we only had to wait for maybe 30-45 minutes. Small little restaurant with fantastic service. Friendly and always smiling. Not seeing photos of the Breakfast Tacos, I thought I'd take one for the team and post a photo. Glad I did. Not sure how they filled that taco with some much goodness. I think every bite had a mixture of delicious and flavorful ingredients.

We had to wait a little while out on the sidewalk before we got a table just before noon on a Friday. It was worth the wait! They had lots of bennies on the menu and all 3/4 of is ordered them. My Blackstone Benedict left me swooning. The candied bacon was to die for! The whole thing was divine. My husband ordered off the specials board-the pear & goat cheese Benedict. He liked it and said he would get it again. Our son tried the avocado and grilled tomato Benedict, saying it was good, and all ingredients seemed fresh and high-quality. Our daughter-in-law wouldn't get the huevos rancheros again, saying it lacked flavor. The tortilla wasn't cooked enough but the pulled chicken was pretty good. She noticed French toast ordered by diners at other tables and wished she would have gotten that or a Bennie. We all struggled a little to cut through the bottom of our English muffins, even with a knife but they seemed house made and we tasted great! The service was friendly, attentive and prompt.

Crispy Brie & Rosemary Peach Benedict

Best Eggs Benedict I've ever had!! Crispy Brie & Rosemary Peach Benedict was killer! Sounds like a strange combination but it is honestly it. You won't regret it! Love the vibe of this place, atmosphere is on point! Looking forward to coming back to Victoria just for this!

The line ups are always long, but worth the wait. Good variety of oddly paired foods, always a delight :)

A solid spot with its own distinct vibe and an impressively long menu…read more Great for groups since there's something for everyone, and the portions are generous. Almost too much for one person. One thing that stood out: unlike most diners that only offer one brewed coffee option, this place lets you choose between regular and dark roast. Small detail, but appreciated. I went on a weekday morning, so there was no wait, but the space isn't very large, so I'd recommend making a reservation during peak hours. Staff were friendly overall, and the atmosphere is worth experiencing. That said, while the food was consistently solid, it wasn't particularly memorable. I ordered the Valentino, smoked salmon and poached egg on an English muffin with avocado, but the avocado was completely unripe, which brought down both the texture and the flavor. With a menu this wide, most dishes land in the "good" rather than "great" range, and execution details like that make a difference. If you're going for variety and the overall experience, you'll be satisfied, but if you're hoping for something exceptional, it may feel a bit underwhelming. Bottom line: a reliable brunch option for groups, as long as you're not setting the bar too high on the food itself.

Fairholme Manor - Amazing breakfast!!

I was so excited to stay here at Fairholme Manor given the positive reviews but I thought overall…read moreit was just okay. Let me start off by saying breakfast really was five stars. It was delicious and beautiful. A lot of love and effort is put into this. Sylvia's scones are phenomenal. If she opened up a bakery I would buy all her scones and loaves. The bathroom is a nice size with a big tub. So why the three stars? There is a radiator in the room but ours didn't work well and would heat up and did not stay hot. We were cold. If you are on the first floor please note that sound travels. you can really hear any movement above you and you can hear conversations very well outside your room which didn't make me feel particularly comfortable since I'm sure even just is talking normally can be heard by others as well. Didn't feel amazing from a privacy perspective. When you book it says there is daily housekeeping. There's no daily housekeeping. We were asked if anything was missing from our room by the breakfast server but nothing else. If you're expecting your trash to be emptied or bed to be made that did not happen our whole stay. Location: not really walkable to the downtown area or most things in Victoria. A couple other small things that I wouldn't even mention if the above two were no issue: The bed was okay although not super comfortable in my opinion. The outlets are really inconvenient and there aren't many. They mention there is tea, hot chocolate, and coffee. There's no hot chocolate and no creamer in your room if you want some later. I do think this place could be good for others but it was not the right fit for us. For a bed and breakfast the room just wasn't super comfortable for us to want to spend time there.

Sylvia is a gracious experienced host with great recommendations for dinner spots. We tried both Pennyfarthing and Pagliacci and were happy with the both choices. Pagliacci had a good live band. And to top it off a small herd of deer have made the neighborhood their home. It all added up to a great stay. We'll book Fairholme again for sure.
