My team wanted the Queso as a starter which truly I did not care for, didn't particularly care for the flavor. I chose the Street Tacos and I found them to be very good. Had lunch with my Son and Wife here. I had lunch fajitas, my Son had lunch chimichanga, and the wife had a taco salad. The salad was good, the chimi was good, but the fajitas were below mid. Chips aren't very good and too thick, but the salsa was good. The service was mediocre. It seemed as though they were understaffed. I liked the decor in the restaurant. Last time we were here we had a bad experience with service and our meal and weren't certain we would ever return. We always try to give a business another chance, so here we are again. The hostess was so unfriendly and never greeted us so my wife wanted to leave. I convinced her to give them more of a chance. We got seated and had a very friendly waitress and she did a great job. Very friendly and efficient. Food was back upto the standards we appreciate. When a person enters a restaurant, they hope to be greeted by the hostess and maybe told they will be with us in a minute. We had heard the beans were fabulous and decided to give it a try on a Saturday evening. We were seated right away and had drinks within a few minutes. Our food was delivered fairly quickly as well. The chips were a bit overheated and lacked salt. My burritos supreme with steak and cheese and topped with queso was delicious! And the rice and beans side was as well! Standard Mexican place, but pretty good. They were very accommodating and were able to cater to my requests. I ordered a side of fajita onions and veggies, beans and rice with corn tortillas, it tasted pretty good! Very greasy tho. I was hungry and ate every bite, no regrets. I don't kno if the decried beans were vegetarian, (I ate them anyway). They come with melted cheese on top, so not vegan - unless you're okay with picking the cheese off. Which is what I did. Their salsa was a similar consistency to spaghetti sauce, with a few more tomato chunks and some cilantro thrown in. I enjoyed it. I like the fact that they have little jugs so that you can pour your own, convenient. Their chips were nice as well. I was super craving some chips and salsa and was glad to have something of above average quality to eat. The staff was very friendly, and the atmosphere was good too. Noise level was not too bad, but definitely there. I'm from Texas, and I have had good Mexican, this wasn't bad for being in Kansas!! I would probably pick here to eat over the other Mexican places I have visited in Salina. They didn't have black beans tho... which I was kind of skeptical about, because what Mexican place doesn't have black beans. Anyway, overall a good experience and I would revisit. read more

Living in Salina for 6 years now, I had driven by this place a few hundred times. I always thought "how the heck does this place stay open? The parking lot is always empty!" Well just last week my friends and I decided to go out to eat and they suggested Jalisco's. I wasn't too thrilled and my expectations were pretty low, but they promised it was good food... ...let's just say I was pleasantly surprised! The first awesome thing you must try is the bean dip. I'm usually just a chips and salsa kinda girl, but the bean dip was excellent. Make sure you have someone to share it with because it is huge. I wasn't crazy about their salsa but I quickly forgot about it the second I dipped my chip into the wonderful mixture of beans and queso. I also had a strawberry margarita. I'm not going to lie and say it was the best margarita in the world, but for $2.75 I was satisfied! For my main meal I had the Jalisco's burrito. The meat had wonderful flavor and I absolutely loved the peppers and onions inside. I would definitely order this again. Moral of the story: don't judge a place by its parking lot. My mom and I stayed the night in Salina on our way back from Denver last week and we ate dinner here. The service was excellent. Our waiter was so helpful and cheery and friendly, we just loved him. I had the carne asada tacos and they were sooooo good! White cheese that melted over flavorful steak on soft flour tortillas... mmmmm. The beans were yummy also and even though the rice was a bit dry it did taste good and I liked that it had corn in it. My mom had a beef taco and some guacamole salad and said it was great. One of the highlights of this place is that they have $2.50 margaritas. While it wasnt the best frozen margarita I've ever had it was pretty good and just one had me feeling quite nice after a long day of traveling ;-) Honestly, I wish I could pick this place up and transport it to my hometown, so I could enjoy it more often.
