    Beef chimichanga.

This jalapenos tasted like Mexican food for gringos. It was kind of bland and the menu was the typical, and tonight it fell flat and didn't really do it for me. Went with the chimichanga, I usually get that but this thing came out looking like a football, I got the beef with the jalapenos and the cheese on top. But even with the jalapenos and cheese on top it was just bland. Just ground beef, beans jalapenos and cheese didn't taste any flavor kind of a letdown should have picked something else. I wanted to get the nachos with the meat on them but they were 15 bucks and wouldn't do it with a half order so he just ended up getting the cheese nachos I think they were $7.99 they were loaded up with cheese and pretty tasty. But again nothing really set me off tonight got me thinking oh I got to go back to jalapenos for blah blah. Kind of boring sorry they're good people and it's clean. But tonight just getting three stars.

Great Mexican spot in Pontiac. First came here back in 2017 and then several times post pandemic and nothing has changed! Food is still on point, great (large) menu selection, good portions. Free chips and salsa and it tastes like they're made on the premises. Carne asada is moist and flavorful. Mexican rice and beans, you can't go wrong with it. I've had the burrito, tacos, enchilada, tostados. Everything is 5 stars. Gotta say the Mexican food scene in Michigan is amazing. Ive had a lot of Mexican food in SoCal, so that's saying a lot. Also it's up in Pontiac so by golly I'm pleasantly surprised and satisfied. I hope this place continues to flourish and stay open. Service is prompt and the free chips get refilled fast. Ambience is quiet, plenty of booth seating. Decor is colorful, the walls are decorated. Staff is very friendly. If it weren't such a drive for me I would come here every weekend.

First time trying this restaurant when in the Pontiac area. Very good and authentic. Friendly servers and quick service. The salsa is great and they have 3 types to try. The atmosphere has a nice Mexican vibe and nicely decorated. Will return to this restaurant again! A must try for sure.

So this is my mom favorite restaurant and I love coming here to celebrate, dinner, or any special occasions. This restaurant is a family owned business. It's looks different on the outside but the it a different vibe inside. There's plenty parking opportunities and it doesn't get busy here on weekends. So my mother and I came here on a Monday night to grab dinner before I had to fly back home. We were seated immediately, was given chips and salsa. There's three options of salsa from mild to spicy. Taste according to your spice level that you can handle. We ordered our drinks and food. I ordered the carne asada steak tacos and it came with rice and beans. (I skipped the bean option) I'm not a fan. My mom ordered the chicken enchiladas like always. So, half eating our food, and we asked for boxes to take our food to go. As I was pouring my rice into my to go box, I found a hair underneath the rice. I was disappointed and disgusted. I told the waitress and there was no apology or ask if I wanted a remade of the food. I would come here again, if they addressed the problem.

The food was good. It did take a while to get my Margarita. I ordered an Italian Margarita. It was very tart and honestly seemed like there was no alcohol in it at all. i don't drink often and it was a large Margarita and it didn't phase me at all. Normally one beer or glass of wine goes right to my head. I wouldn't order a margarita again. We love their chips and Avocado salsa. The portions for the food are large. The service was okay not exceptional but our servers did check in right after the food came but not again.

On 10/7/23, we were visiting from Illinois and decided to stop and eat at Jalapeños Restaurant. The food was really good and the Top Shelf Margarita was well served and tasted great. We had the bistec a la Mexican, sope dinner, steak tacos, Carne Asada plate, and the chips were free. Plus our kids had the fried Ice Cream and my wife had the flan. Our waitress Adriana was very attentive and provided great customer service.

The food is great everytime I come in there! Very tasty and flavorful, not one of the restaurants that over season their food. The seasoning on the meat is just right. The host was more attentive to our table then the server. Very friendly atmosphere, and will definitely recommend to my successful friends.

Came for lunch, it was pretty busy. Our server was friendly, but super slow. She may have been the only server in the restaurant but that's ok. I had a Paloma (not pictured, $7.50) to keep me busy while waiting for food -The asada fries were HUGE and shareable for 2-4 people. -My lunch carne asap con salsa verdee was phenomenal and would 100000% get it again. -Chips and salsa we're amazing -the Paloma was strong and two would get you buzzed

From the doubled up corn tortillas, to the tender well cooked meat, cilantro and their wonderful sautéed onions these Street style Taco's are as authentic as anything you would get in Mexico. The gratis house chips and Salsa were equally tasty and a nice complement to the Taco's all being washed down with a sugar cane based Mexican coke. The total bill came in at a very reasonable cost of $12 which is a great value in today's economy and a great deal by any standard. Relative to staff and facility, this appears to be a small family run business where the restaurant itself is located in a small strip mall at the corner of Franklin and Square Lake Rd with an equally small footprint for the restaurant. This is a very unpretentious business (think hole in a wall but in a nice way) with a limited number of dining tables and small staff. Having said that, I had no problem in getting seated and getting my order taken and food brought out in fairly quick order! I have been on a kick for a while now trying to find the best taco joint in the the northern Oakland county area and have to say this is as good as I have come across up to now and am a big fan of this business. If you are into well made authentic Mexican street taco's than this is a must visit for you. This was my first visit here and definately will not be my last where I will be combining this dining venue with my regular Bloomfield Hills Costco trips which is a Quarter mile from the restaurant.

The meats was very tender & flavorful, veggies quite fresh and finished product very very tasty. As a cautionary note, the Salsa was probably a medium on the spicy scale and if you like your food mild you may want to ask for the mild salsa that comes with the chips. Other item of note here is the chips and salsa come gratis if you dine in where they were good but not quite at the level as the taco's which were over the top good! Relative to the restaurant and staff, the facility itself has a smallish footprint where there are just two tables and one very long counter with stools for indoor dining. My take of this is that much of the business is probably carryout. Staff was very friendly where you order your food at the counter and they bring it to you if you are dining in the restaurant. there was no table follow up at this point where it really operate as a quasi fast food joint which I was totally OK with, Overall really good food at a very reasonable price (2 steak taco's were $8) where the taco's are some of the best I have had in Metro Detroit. If you are a fan of good authentic Mexican food than this is a business not to be missed.

I was sort of hesitant about dining here, but the place is a okay. There's obviously limited parking and seating here, so FYI it's not good for groups. Maybe a party of 4, tops. I reviewed the menu and kind of scoped the place out when I was inside. There's a wall and door that separate the restaurant portion from the station itself, so that's good. Some of the tables were dirty and looked like they were in need of being cleared, so it made a tight situation even tighter because it meant I had to sit right smack dab in the middle since there was only 2 other places to sit. My server was nice and answered a lot of my questions. The menu's decent but it's mostly dinner entree's here. I went with the 2 tacos that came with rice and beans since I was kind of hungry. Sadly, they don't have barbacoa, just ground beef and steak, in regards to meat selection for tacos. There's also pork and chicken, but since I don't eat pork and didn't feel like chicken, that kind of narrowed down my options to what i was going to get. As for drinks, they also don't have any fountain pop here at all, nor do they serve glasses of water. You have to purchase bottled water or no water at all. I think it's a $1 a bottle. They have can's of coke and some Mexican pop, and that's kind of it. I docked a star for the limited drink options because it was kind of a bummer. Plus, since seating was limited and the place wasn't packed, the tables could have been cleared sooner than later. As for the food, I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. I mean, it wasn't life changing but definitely good and the beans were awesome. The rice was good, and I mixed it with the beans, so that was tasty. Tacos were very yummy and over all, it was worth visiting here. Regardless of the tables that needed to be cleared, I wish they would at least have glasses (or Styrofoam cups) where you could at least get refillable ice water or something. Maybe they don't have the space, I'm not sure, but that's kind of a thing for me. Overall, a decent quick lunch spot or place to carry out from.
