Wow. Such a disappointment, we were here about a year ago and when we frequent the area we always talk about how good it was and how we should go back. Unfortunately we highly regret our decision & will never go back. Let me start by saying the salsas are not good. The red salsa is all heat & no flavor and the green sauce is weird. If you're a Mexican restaurant & don't have decent salsa that's a problem in & of itself. We ordered the Gordita plate & the Empanada plate. The rice was so dry I struggled to swallow it on its own & had to eat it with the beans. The beans were unfortunately the best item we were served. The Empanadas were over cooked and both the Chicken & Beef weren't good at all. There was zero seasoning and the dough was so dry from being over cooked you had to take a drink with each bite. It just wasn't good, not at all. And the Gorditas, first of all you can't even pick them up and eat them. It's definitely a fork & knife item which is unfortunate for a "pocket" that's to be eaten with your hands. Secondly the beef Gordita was off. I don't know if it was the beef or if the seasonings were off but it definitely wasn't good. The Chicken Gordita was just okay but after such a letdown my wife only took 3 bites & gave up. Oh and I didn't get a photo of them but the tortillas we were served were cooked on a dirty grill. You could tell by their coloring. What a shame, our first visit was so amazing! There wasn't a bad item on the plate. So wild to me that they've gone down hill so tremendously. Best thing we had were the iced tea, lemonade & refried beans. What a joke. Don't recommend, especially if you're of the culture, you'll be very disappointed. (My wife was for sure). read more

Me and a friend stopped by for tacos because she had heard good things about this place. The place was totally empty and seemed almost like they were closed. The lady who served us was pleasant but only spoke Spanish. We ordered but then was told they were out of ingredients for the entree I ordered so I chose another only to be told the same thing again. Ended up choosing a chicken plate which was decent but the ingredients did not seem fresh. My friend did not really enjoy her meal either. All plates were around $10 so that's a plus. Maybe we just visited at a weird time but Im not sure if I will be back. read more

Went for dinner on a Friday night to support local and it was so disappointing. Started with stale chip crumbs (only one whole chip) and a very tomato-y bland salsa. Ordered Ranchero Enchiladas and Carne Guisada Enchiladas. Ranchero had no flavor and the Guisada enchiladas came as a Guisada plate?? Couldn't flag our server so the mediocre Guisada had to suffice. Worst thing of the night was the texture of the rice... maybe they used Jasmine rice? Biggest complaint was the pricing.... Very good huevos rancheros--over medium perfectly prepared, spicy sauce but not too hot, refried Beans not too greasy but very tasty. A lot of potatoes enough to make another separate taco. On June 5th I placed an order for pickup in the afternoon, received confirmation emails and texts and my account was charged for the order amount. however, when I arrived at this location at around 4pm, it was not marked as closed but the doors were locked, no one was visible in the restaurant and no cars in the lot. I was charged for a meal but never received anything because online, Jalapeno's was indicated as open and took my order and money but the restaurant was closed in fact. I'm going to report this to Better Business Bureau for followup. read more

Food is great. My family and I always order breakfast tacos from here when we want some but every time I go to pick it up, I notice one thing that draws back so much from this place: The wait times are awful. Every time we order ahead of time so the food is ready to pick up and it's just never ready, I always need to end up sitting on the side for about twenty minutes waiting for it to actually be ready. We used to like this restaurant but visited them last Friday and was disappointed. Ordered the mini tacos asada ( pork) . The flavor is bland just probably salt and pepper. Didnt have the. Used to go before and the food was amazing went back today 02/15/25 and the food was bland and the wait was long....

Me and my family decided to go here for lunch, we found a decently sized piece of WIRE in the salsa. The customer service was definitely not standard. Had to wait 25-30 minutes for our nachos to finally come out. In the end they only compensated a 4 dollar taco for the inconvenience of finding a metal wire in the salsa which could've been a lawsuit if consumed. Save your time and money, go somewhere else. read more

Terrible experience here my sister found a piece of wire in the salsa when she notified the staff and manager they offered no sort of explanation or apology they offered to remove the $4 taco from the tab to make up for the fact we could've swallowed and choked. Service was horrible, took over 25 minutes for food to arrive and other waitress had to bring my plate which was sitting under lamp for a bit. Of course it was cold, butter did not even melt on pancakes. My original waitress never checked on us, had to call from the other side to bring me more coffee. Husband's plate was just OK. We were driving to a restaurant down the road when we spotted this place. We made a quick turnaround so we could eat breakfast this morning. You wait to be seated and pay at the counter/register before you leave. We ordered 5 tacos and 2 coffees with a side of avocado slices for $19. The tacos were over stuffed and the tortillas (home made corn and flour are very well made). The salsas (both) were spicy (well done!). I'm not a fan of their refried beans. I like mine plain- no seasoning, but I could see others would really appreciate. The place is new and well planned out. Not sure why the score is so low - We had a delish breakfast. The food was okay at best. The service was bad. I ordered the mini tacos and the asada itself was good. The tortillas were not. The cilantro consisted of all chopped up stems. My wife ordered the shrimp nachos and was disappointed. The shrimp was bland and overcooked. The pico served with it looked old. The service is what really bothered me. Staff was not friendly and took a long time to take our order. The part that got me most was that they charged for to-go boxes. Their prices aren't cheap in the first place (for a Mexican restaurant) so I don't agree charging for to-go stuff. When I noticed it on the receipt, I wasn't too happy. I got the mini tacos, my oldest got empanadas, my husband got the shrimp Diablo something???, and my youngest got the quesadillas! Every single thing was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!!!! Tried Jalapenos one afternoon for Brunch and I can honestly say the place was clean. You are greeted at the door then sat down. The servers greet you after and bring chips and salsa. Took about 20 minutes for us to get our food. The plate I ordered was the short ribs. They came out great. The sides were a little heavy on the salt. My wife ordered breakfast tacos and the taste was good but she did mention the same thing...over salted. Reasonable prices. Ladies very respectful and attentive. We decided to go back and for a 2nd round. We ordered breakfast tacos and again they were overly salted.
