Never got a chance to get seated, never got a chance to eat. We're waiting on a table to finish being cleaned and some dude walks in and sits down at that table. We were just meandering through this area recently and discovered the cute little downtown area of Farmersville. Five out of six locals recommended this place. I checked it out on YELP and it only had 3.5 stars, so that gave me a little pause. However, five out of six locals can't be wrong, right? The first thing you notice are the prices...it's like you stepped back into 2015; hardly any entree's over $9.99. along with the obligatory chips and salsa, they also offer free queso. My wife had the "Mexican plate" - 2 tamales, an enchiladas and crispy taco, rice and beans - $9.99. I had 12 shrimp in a chipotle sauce with rice and corn tortillas - $10.99. The beer and margaritas are also incredibly affordable compared to most places these days. Is it the best Mexican food that I've ever had? No. But it was quite good and I would certainly eat here again. Our servers were great - Michelle is quiet and efficient. Mona is efficient and a bit of a prankster. Excellent teamwork. Been here twice. This is small town Mexican food, hole in the wall type place. You seat yourself when you arrive (there are no signs about this). If there are no tables available, you wait for one. The menu has a lot of food and combo options. They do have a bar, but didn't seem to have a bartender. The servers were making their own drinks, so you can't expect to place a fancy bar order here. They dont bring you a check, you just pay at the front and they'll know what to charge. Service is slow, for any small time town. No need to hurry through dinner, just sit and relax and your food will be ready when its ready. They do provide chips, salsa and queso for every guest while you wait for your food. Good luck not filling up on that before you get your food. The salsa and queso are both so good! I love their chili con carne. It's got deep flavors, hints of cinnamon and a great mouth feel. The steak was super flavorful and juicy. It can stand on its own. Affordable dinner, left full and would return again, now that we have some expectations settled. read more

The food is always good and comes out pretty quick considering how busy this place gets. Sometimes service is slow but the staff really bust their asses to get everyone taken care of. Food is bland tex mex not much flavor. The queso is watered down . People not friendly . Ordered a taco dinner and about a third of it was filled . Really expensive taco dinner to have them bring out your tacos not even half full . They could have added cheap lettuce and I would have noticed . I Mentioned it to the waitress and she said that's how they make them and she could do nothing about it . I didn't complain further but will never go back . Not very well managed to allow a customer to leave o and never return over something like this . Before this I Would go a couple of times a month because I thought it was the only place in town . But since they served me near empty tacos and wouldn't fix the problem I have discovered two other places in town that are much better . read more

Went for lunch today and saw a sign that said now hiring servers. I was prepared to be patient since I already knew they we're probably short staffed. When I walked in 3 employees were right up front 2 mopping and one vacuuming. I asked do I sit anywhere they said yes. I sat and waited and waited and waited. All 3 continued to mop/vacuum. No one ever said hi or welcome. Never got a menu, never was spoken to again and I waited 10 min. Y'all need more than a server. You need leadership and management. read more

I went today to have lunch with my husband. Waiter seemed like he didn't want to be there. Also I ordered the seven seas, the sour cream sauce was bad. Not just bad in taste I mean bad as in expired. It smelled so bad I spit out my first bite and just ate my rice. I mean we only went to eat because we barely missed Over Yonder. I remember now why we don't go there. Sorry but never again. I usually go to the one in McKinney but I had a Dr. Apt, in town so we went to have lunch before. I was taken back when the waiter whined about us sharing a meal the last time we were there. There were 4 of us ,we each ordered a meal and a drink but he severed the people that came in after we did and when he finally brought us our lunch he never came back to the table. truly not sure how this restaurant receives more than one star. it's very dirty inside with greasy tables, stained carpets and a thick coating of dust on the walls and decor that sits above the booths. the one and only time we went, we were seated where we could see the staff area where drinks are filled. how very insightful that was! the bucket that is used to scoop ice out of the big ice machine, into the small ice cooler was placed on the floor and then used to scoop out ice. meaning, the dirt and grime on the bucket from the FLOOR was TOUCHING the ice they put in your drink. the food was not fresh at all, wasn't even hot all the way through. disgusting. should be shut down by the health department. read more

We were able to check out this cozy little place Friday evening, and all in all, had a good experience. Service was prompt, chips and salsa and caso hit the table w/i minutes. Lots to chose from and the prices were reasonable, even good, considering how good it was. The only negative, would be the margarita. I had a "large" rocks and salt, and it lived up to the large....but light on the tequila it seemed, so a second large was ordered, and still......they still tasted great, just no kick, which was ok until I noticed they were 11.99 or something close to that, each! 24 dollars for 2 drinks, and I'm not even getting the point.....that was the only negative. Either drop the price on those or make them worth it....great dinner orherwise! We'll be back, just sticking with beer maybe! read more

My wife and I went here tonight (Friday night) during their busiest hours. Nonetheless, all of the staff had smiles for us and we had a minimal wait. The waitress (Cassie) was prompt and attentive. This was our first time visiting and it was ok. They give you free queso with your chips which is a plus, but it was bland. Definitely had to mix with some salsa to give it flavor. I ordered the chicken fajita quesadilla...to me, "fajita" means there are veggies in it. No veggies, just chicken and cheese. My quesadilla is on the menu with one scoop of guacamole and one scoop of sour cream. I asked to take off the sour cream and double the guacamole, but they are stingy and I wasn't allowed to do that. Which I guess is ok because the small scoop of guacamole I was given was brown on top I might give them another try because I work close by, but I wasn't impressed. read more

Seems to be going down hill. They still have the best Mexican food in Farmersville. The service is not what it used to be. The beer menu is not good. Dos Equis on draft , Bud Lite, and Coors Lite. No Tecate. No Heinekens. The table service is slow. Took about 15 minutes to get waited on 7-24-2018 at noon. Place was only 1/4 full. Just no hustle. A group at another table was just leaving when we entered. 6 or 7 empty bottles and and 6 settings of dirty dishes. It was still that way when we left at 1:00 and hour later. They don't bus the tables. You don't turn dirty tables! The food came within 10 minutes of the order. It tasted good and there was plenty of it. Had to chase down the waiter to get my ticket. Not a bad experience, but definitely not great. Next time we want Mexican we will drive about the same distance to Maria's in Melissa, TX. They hustle to turn tables. No dirty dishes. Great service and the margaritas are the best. The food is very good and they serve cheese queso with the hot sauce. I had not run into anyone doing that in a while and it was a nice touch. My only little disappointment was the tortilla wish they would make their own because the ones we had seemed like packaged ones. After having homemade ones the packaged ones just don't make the grade. Such small hidden location. Never heard until my friend introduced me here today. I ordered the chicken fajita enchilada plate with frozen strawberry margarita and my friend ordered the mexi enchiladas I believe with fajita meat sprinkled on top. The chicken was cut thick pieces so I could not finish my plate but was very tasty! And My friend had given me a bite of his and it was delicious too!!
