I hired Joseph again to do an inspection on a home that I'm currently in escrow with. I mostly wanted him to check out an attached sunroom which had power running to it, but I wasn't certain if it was wired properly. Joseph checked it out, ensured it was done correctly, gave me additional quotes for fixing a couple of floor outlets and a 220 in the garage, and even fixed another outlet for me free of charge. ETA: just read his reply which is completely dishonest. I have the text exchange. You said you were coming, you did not. I texted you every single day, you didn't bother to respond. I never once asked for you to come in 24 hours, I asked you to simply show up for the appointment times you scheduled. It's one thing to be a flake, but quite another to be blatantly dishonest. Super disappointing. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME. JAL was recommended to me by my mom, so I had high hopes. He came out and gave me a bid, and it was a reasonable price so I decided to move forward. He then scheduled the appointment to do part of the work, and didn't show. I texted him and he said he had a family emergency, only after I reached out to him. Ok, that happens. We reschedule. He has to reschedule. OK, that happens. We reschedule. He doesn't show up. Several hours after he was supposed to arrive, he tells me he's stuck in the mountains, due to snow closure. OK, but a call or text would've been helpful. He tells me this isn't how he normally operates, apologizes, and rescheduled. He comes out and does the work. No problems. Then he's supposed to come out and hook up a hot tub. This was part of the original quote/discussion. I tell him the siding is being replaced and maybe it's easier to pull the line through the wall with the siding off. He agrees. But doesn't come til a couple days later and then tells me no, the siding needs to be done first. I let him know when it's done, he says he's going to come and get the hot tub hooked up (I had an event this week so he knew it needed to be done asap), but he never shows. I texted him every single day asking when he was coming and he never responded until the day before my home event and tells me he had another family emergency and he can't come until mid-week the next week. I am absolutely livid. Now the hottub won't be hooked up in time and if he had just been honest from the start, I could have hired someone else. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME. read more

On arriving to my house for a consultation, Joseph refused to wear a mask despite the fact that my two-year old son was in the house and hasn't received his Covid-19 vaccination. I asked Joseph if he could put on a mask before he entered our house, to which he responded, "I don't wear a mask while I'm working." He mentioned that he's received his Covid-19 vaccination, so I asked him if he could show his vaccination card, to which he responded with attitude, "Yeah, I don't do any of that - That's private information, I'm not going to share that with you." I asked him if he was really willing to forego business over not wearing a mask or showing his vaccination card, to which he responded: "Yeah." To top it all off, we had to reschedule our original consultation (which my wife and I had planned our morning around) because Joseph had a last-minute emergency to take care of related to picking up his son from school.
