The cues are a better standard than you'll find in any pub, and the baize, while not Crucible standard, is usually in pretty good nick too. It almost invariably proves cheaper than playing anywhere else, unless you're with someone extremely slow, as you can play for an hour for just over £6. Riley's often has offers on too, so you can get 3 hours for the price of 2. Even though I'm a bit of a chubber there's normally adequate room for queuing, but if it's particularly busy and the balls dictate you sometimes have to wait for a second to allow someone else to take a shot. TV's showing the latest sports results/matches are a bonus.

The alcohol isnt particualry expensive, its probably about average, and the music tends to be the latest chart toppers and the like. The smoking area is really REALLY small however, not enough room to swing a cat really and this can be a problem when the place is packed. Its a great place to go and observe the 'mutton-dressed-as-lamb' on a saturday night attemptiong to strut their stuff on the dance floor - most amusing!

They have a pretty standard bar selection, prices are around average. One gripe - unless you're a seasoned pro, I'd avoid the poker tables, things can get serious and a little heated, nothing too major, just the odd raised voice. But these are off to one side and can be easily avoided if you're just coming to play pool. A fun night out.
