Online ordering system When you order online, it gives an estimated time for pickup. It's limited because that estimate does not factor in other orders. So if there are a lot of orders ahead of you, your pizza won't be ready when they say. Keep in mind on game days. Other than that system limitation, the overall service at Jake's is excellent. Local spot here - if you know you know. Pizza's good, beer's cold and the atmosphere is laid back. Prices are reasonable but be prepared to wait a little if you show up during rush hour or after a little league soccer game. They have one counter and one attendant and everyone has to form a line and wait your turn. Service is great. They shine in this area and can't say enough about how friendly and accommodating they treat guests. If you wanna try something new, order their fondu , or, try or the best wings in the south bay! Simple pizza spot. This place is not bad at all. Clean and spacious/great for groups too. There's plenty of parking spots available throughout the entire plaza and it's not too busy during weekday lunchtime. The place is quite convenient if you're in the area. The bar area is where you go to grab your drinks/beer/beverages/straws. Self service area has utensils/plates and napkins. Good setup. Space was noticeably comfortable. Staffs are helpful. Good pizza place vibes inside. There's plenty to choose from their menus. Pick up your own orders at the front counter. We had a combination pizza with a half & half pepperoni pizza plus mushroom pizza. There was good amount of cheese with lots of ingredients/toppings on them. Lemon salt pepper chicken was pretty salty and dry here though. They really hook them up with the salt amount. Buffalo chicken sauce was good enough. Tasty and delicious. I havnt been back here in so long but I went to Jake's and got the Gilroy pizza, a burger and wings. The wings were so good and I usually don't like wings at all! The Gilroy pizza was delicious especially with a side of ranch but I did not taste any garlic in it... Overall a good meal! Staff were all nice and the ambiance was loud and fun! read more

Went to try Jake's Pizza in Saratoga for the first time to celebrate a small birthday dinner with a group. The restaurant is a nice and cozy inside with lots of booth seating and regular table seating. You order at the register and they give you a buzzer to let you know when your food is ready. Service was friendly. We got the large gilroy special pizza, 10 piece bone in wings flavored with frank's red hot sauce, and a bbq bacon burger. Everything tasted pretty good and it was a good spot to chat while eating. read more

5 Stars 5 Hearts The " pizza people of San Jose" aka my family, lol have just visited Jake's for the first time and Loved this pizza!! It was tasty with crunchy flavory crust what more can you ask for! We had a great experience and look forward to getting back there soon for more delicious PIZZA!! We warmed up with a few good beers from Russian River and Seattle, with tasty hot onion rings to nosh. Staff and service were friendly, warm and delivering a great product and experience for our family. The ambiance is pizza parlor fun with sports games playing on multiple screens, good beer poured at the bar and family filled tables all around. Large parking lot - ez. If I could give 6 stars, I would! Chef's kiss Always friendly staff, a jovial family pub vibe and pizza that sends you straight to heaven. The sauce to cheese to toppings ratio is beyond perfect, and I've never had a bad pizza here. Their Caesar salad has good flavor and crunch - a lot of dressing, so if you don't like a lot of dressing, ask for the dressing on the side or ask for it to be lightly dressed. TBH, I liked the old style of zucchini STICKS instead of coins better... but their fried zucchini is still quite yummy and recommended too. They now have online ordering (much easier for me than phone!). Jake's is under new management as of December 9 (OH NO!), and the pizza absolutely sucks. What a tremendous disappointment. We'd been VERY HAPPY patrons of Jake's for many, many years. Their pizzas were (past tense) just delicious. Always great! Now? The new Jake's pizza quality is a giant step down. Just...mediocre. And the prices have gone UP! A LOT of money for a less-than-average pizza. That's certainly not a sustainable business model, is it? (They didn't buy the pizza recipes in the sale??) I hope Jake's new management reads this, because the "new" Jake's pizza is either awful by accident, or by their cheap design to cut costs on quality. Will we go back? It's only fair to give them another try. But it's time to start looking elsewhere. read more

We went here for a quick dinner tonight. The place was a bit busy because of the 49ers game playing but there were still some empty booths available. Service is fast. You order from the counter and you get a beeper and have a seat. When the buzzer goes off, you come up to pick up your food. It was quick to get our food. Jake's is our go to place as soon as we land in California. My in laws have a Jake's pizza waiting for us as soon as we get to their house. Today instead of eating a pizza we had their burgers. My husband grew up in this area and he said their burgers are so good. It was my daughter's and my first time having burgers at Jake's. We all got the cheeseburgers. My husband added bacon to his. All of the cheeseburgers came with potato chips. We also ordered a side of fries. The cheeseburgers were so good. They were so juicy and oh so good. We all ate pretty much the whole thing. Even my daughter who doesn't like eating the bread ate it all together. The fries were so good also. Glad we got to try Jake's for burgers tonight. Almost every Friday night is pizza night for my family and while we have our go-to favorites, we have been trying to check out a new place whenever possible. Jake's has popped up every time on Yelp's top South Bay pizza spots but truthfully, I'm not the biggest fan of "American style" pizza, which is why I have never rushed over here. However, one day I was finishing up with a client who lived nearby so I thought I would finally check it out. It was quite packed and lively when I entered the restaurant. It has the vibe of your typical American pizza joint... definitely a place where you would have a kid's sports team pizza party or a family night. The staff is super friendly and attentive. We got the combo, chicken garlic, and veggie. As I mentioned earlier, I am usually not a fan of American style pizza but I was quite impressed with theirs as the crust was not super doughy or heavy, which is usually my experience. The toppings were fresh and definitely contributed to the overall pizza tasting delicious. As I said, American-style pizza is not my go-to but if I am craving that style, then I will definitely be back here or even if I am looking for a sit-down pizza restaurant that can accommodate a large-size party. read more

We have been loyal customers of Jake's of Saratoga for 29 years, but not anymore! Super Bowl Sunday was at 3:30 p.m., so we order 3 pizzas at 1:30 p.m. for pickup. I thought we were being smart by picking up our pizzas early to avoid the crowds. We were told the pizzas would be ready in 35 to 40 minutes, so we arrived at 2:05 p.m. When we arrived, we didn't recognize any of the "old" employees. Jake's in under new management and all the "old" employees are gone. We paid for the pizzas and were given an LED buzzer to alert us when our order would be ready. At 2:30 p.m., the buzzer had not gone off, so I looked at the pizza boxes in the warmer and saw a small, medium, and large pizza. I thought this might be our order, so I asked, and yes it was. The pager never alerted us. We got home at 2:40 p.m., ready to eat. The pepperoni and combo pizzas were fine, but our custom pizza was wrong. I drove back to Jake's to exchange the pizza for the right pizza. An employee took the pizza back and instead of immediately making me the correct pizza, I was told I could get a refund or wait an hour to and an hour and 15 minutes for my new pizza. It was 2:50 p.m. I figured I wouldn't miss too much of the game, so I chose to wait. I was given an LED buzzer again, but I knew the staff doesn't know how to use the buzzers. While I was waiting, and waiting, and waiting, a customer came in and said that none of the 3 pizzas he ordered had any sauce. He asked for a container of sauce. Another customer came in because she received the All Meat pizza instead of the Gilroy Special. A pickup customer received her wings and didn't get her pizza until an hour later. At about 3:20 p.m., one of the employees, I'm guessing the manager, collected LED buzzers from maybe 10 of us waiting. He placed all the buzzers on the counter. He figured out that not everyone was getting alerted when their pizzas were ready, so he did try to help. He even offered me a free drink; no thanks. I just want my pizza. At 4:00 p.m. the manager was gone. I'm guessing he had enough and needed a break. I went up to the pickup window and asked if my pizza was ready. After being ignored for a bit, I got, "NO!" I had been waiting for an hour and 10 minutes by this time. Talk about agitated! At 4:20 p.m. I got my pizza. Hooray! Only an hour and a half wait. I could go home and join my family for Super Bowl. You'll never believe this. When I got home, at 4:30 p.m., my pizza was wrong again! (This whole fiasco began at 1:30 and ended at 4:30.) I was so done! We will never, ever buy another pizza at Jake's. If the employees had made my pizza immediately after I brought it back, instead of making me wait an hour and a half for THEIR mistake, I would give Jake's a second chance. Incompetence shall not be rewarded! We will spend our money at Checkers Pizza and Cicero's Pizza from now on. read more

Jake's is part neighborhood bar and part family restaurant with pizza, burgers, sandwiches, and salads. It is larger portions and guilty-pleasure food. We stopped in mid-afternoon and both ordered the fish sandwich (fried halibut) and lemonade. You order at the counter and the food is then brought to you. The gentleman staffing the register was very friendly. Though fried, neither the fish nor the French fries were greasy. The sandwich contained a very large piece of fish that had a mild flavor. It was a juicy sandwich. The fries were hand-cut style. It was all very good. It wasn't healthy or something I could eat often, but for a classic done right, Jake's was the place. read more

So you order once you come in at the cashier, then walk to the next counter to pick up the drinks and then find a table to seat. You can call ahead to reserve your tables. This time the onion ring is better than fried zucchini because the fried zucchini is a bit too fried and doughy on the outside. The golden barbecue wings are good, the fried wings are also crispy. I love this place. The staff is helpful and friendly, the ambience is casual and self-serve, and the food is always consistent, and there's plenty of parking. I do wish they would rotate their beer selections more or have a bigger selection. The only tap that rotates seems to be the Russian River one, and it tends to be the same few selections rotating back and forth, occasionally getting something exceptional that somehow never comes back. This is risky for retaining the beer crowd, as we'll be searching for the next better place to go, and one might just become our permanent go-to place that replaces Jake's as our hangout. read more

Value for the money - 10 The small pizza is enough for 2 people, and it's larger than many medium-sized pizzas at other places. Sauce - 7 It's a bit spicy, so be advised. I like it. Cheese and toppings - 8 The right amount of both makes a nice pie. They get it right. Crust - 2 The foundation of any great pizza is a fantastic crust. Sorry, but IMHO this crust was quite bad. It was dense, chewy, and rather tasteless. Not a crisp or a puffy crust like you get with handmade sourdough. It had fork marks everywhere on it. We wondered if it was a pre-made frozen crust. I ordered this to go. I'm a bit disappointed that the combo doesn't have a lot of topping wish they would put more. I mean compare to mountain Mike they filled their pizza with toppings. But i like Jakes pizza cause the crust is just right i like the amount of topping atmtn mikes that would be perfect with Jakes. For me Jake's of Saratoga is my go to pizza place. The crust is tasty and good on its own. the cheese is thick and no one is stingy with the toppings. The service is fast and helpful, the place is traditional sports bar/ pizza place with some outdoor seating and bench seating along with big tables. TVs in several locations and a few arcade games for the kid in all of us. They also have a respectable hamburger too. read more

Was in the Saratoga area today and couldn't stop a nostalgic craving for Jake's, best location for the local chain and better than The Garrett imo but yes I'm biased lol. Custom veggie pie and garlic fries w/blue cheese are both still so good. First time back after years and very glad it's kept up with that comfortable divey feel in the Saratoga/Cupertino area (hard to maintain in those cities...) and the food is still so good. Easily the best pizza in town and staff was nothing but kind and accomodating again. I remember the high-school classmates they used to hire when I was at that age and they've really kept the atmosphere comfortable for all kinds of pizza lovers. Busy Friday as I remember it but timely takeout order. Only tiff is with the prices, but completely understandable...it's still Saratoga, so pay up, life ain't cheap there.
