I always love to find a local hole in the wall spot on my travels and this week was no different. While out trail riding we came across Jake's and decided to stop in for some lunch. It was quite busy even earlier in the day. We found a spot and quickly ordered some burgers, wings and such. Service was friendly and we settled in to enjoy the live music and people watch. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have a couple of TVs above the bar and a bit of outside seating as well.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This seems to definitely be a stop for bikers as we saw many. Food was a bit slow to come out, but fries were crispy and burgers great. I loved the Jake's Burger with the green chilis. It added a great kick. Parking is a dirt lot out front, but well maintained.

Loved everything about this place! I had the Steak dinner (for lunch) and it was delicious. Lucille was behind the bar and she does it right... conversing w her guest, greeting everyone as they walk in and [[HIGHLIGHT]]the atmosphere is perfect,[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Keep doing your thing Lucille I'm excited for the upcoming season for you. Peace... Frankie G.

Cool patio with cornhole, lots of seating, some covered some not but a good watering hole!

Owner short-pours like crazy. Gotta do better. [[HIGHLIGHT]]That said they do have a nice patio.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]You are stuck here though as it's the only thing around.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

All those black plaques are to memorialize former regulars. And look at that...a real Heisman Trophy!

Loved the ambiance and look of Jake's Corner and everyone was friendly enough. The server made a fresh pot of coffee for us and that was really nice. I was a little confused when we ordered and were given a restaurant pager like you'd get at Olive Garden to let you know your table is ready. As we were walking around and looking at the decor, I guess it went off cuz a regular let us know. What we didn't know was that we had to go out back where the kitchen is to get our food! Sadly the food was just mediocre. My guy's chicken fried steak was beyond salty, so much so that he only ate a couple of bites. The potatoes were lacking in seasoning and the sausage tasted a little odd, not terrible just odd. My guy thought the gravy was good but I thought it was bland. My over easy eggs were cooked to perfection. Biscuits were good too. Not sure if I'd go back. There's another place down the road a bit heading towards town that I'll probably try if we come this way again.

The place is cool, if you order food you will wait a Looooong time. No waitress. The deco is really cool

This is a great place to stop while riding the Roosevelt Lake loop from Mesa, Jakes, Globe. Burgers are good and beverages are cold.

Each time everyone has been super friendly, going above and beyond to chat about some of their favorite things to do around this area and/or chatting about whatever topic we land on. While stopping in for a drink or a sandwich it's, even in June, it's been great. There's lots of umbrellas or shade that allows for a nice cool mountain breeze to keep cool from the summer sun. Enjoying a coffee on their deck warrants for a great Mountain View. Last year I stopped by and got their coffee, and it was underwhelming; BUT we stopped by twice this year while visiting and it was a stellar improvement. I am very particular with my espresso/lattes and really enjoyed mine this time around! There are lots of choices of flavors, however, I think something that could really help improve the coffees even more would be some homemade syrup! Thank you Sip for a great time. Excited for the next time we see you.

My daughter had been there a few weeks ago and told me about the place. She got coffee and a chicken salad sandwich. There is a very nice place to sit that wraps around the back. She was impressed. They must be famous for the chicken salad sandwich as three people ahead of me ordered them. Well I came back Sunday morning. My wife and I shared a pecan caramel brownie. Really ready good. Sat outside at a table with a view. Now waiting for our next trip to Pine.

The location was really nice and open with a patio, and the inside was spacious without the tables being packed together. Plenty of room to sit back and actually enjoy your meal. I went with the ribs, and they were smoked just right--exactly how I like them. Honestly, they didn't even need BBQ sauce. I ate some with just the rub and some with sauce, and both ways were delicious. The mashed potatoes were so good I should've ordered more. The mac and cheese wasn't overly creamy, which was perfect for me, and I can't forget the Caesar salad. Really good Caesar salad, and one thing I always appreciate--serve it on a cold plate. This one came out nice and cold and was super fresh. Overall, really good BBQ, great sides, and a nice comfortable location. Definitely worth the stop if you're in Payson.

Hello Everyone: This review is for Rim Country BBQ and Wood Fired Pizzas in Payson, AZ…read more This was our first time at this restaurant. We would definitely come back again. Because we could not decide what to order, we got the sampler plate which had meats, sides, and dipping sauces. The photos show you the "before" and "after" of our meal! Bathrooms are clean. We had no problem finding off-street parking. Analysis of experience: This plate is enough for two people. You get: two ribs, two 1/2 pieces of sausage, a scoop of pulled pork (about 1/3 to 1/2 cup), two thin slices of brisket and some sliced smoked turkey breast. Also included is a sampler container of their dipping sauces to enjoy with your meat. Sides included: baked beans, corn, mashed potatoes, coleslaw, potato salad and mac & cheese. Our meat favorites were the ribs and the pulled pork. This is why: I first tried a bit of each meat with no sauce. I don't want to review sauces and sauces can cover up/mask many issues just like a coat of paint on a wall. Therefore, I started with meat (no sauce) tastings, then moved to the meat and sauce tasting. Ribs: The rib meat easily cut off the bone and was tender. There was not a lot of meat, the bones were pretty big as you can see, but what meat there was had a nice flavor and was tender. Pulled Pork: The pulled pork was some of the most tender I have experienced. This meat went well with ALL the dipping sauces served to us. I did not get a lot of smoke flavor to it, the flavor was subtle, but that allowed for the sauces to shine a little bit. Brisket: The brisket was tender, but I felt the fat line on the top of the brisket was still too intact for me (not rendered enough so the fat juices get down into the meat) and I thought the brisket was a tad dry. Turkey: The turkey breast had a nice flavor, but again, it was very subtle. This meat was also a tad dry, not bad with sauce on it, but could have been a little juicier. That was perhaps my least favorite because it was on the dry side. Sausage: The sausage was 1/2 of a sausage cut in 1/2 again as you can see in the photo. This was a spicy sausage with a charred cut side, very nice. The char on the sausage added a nice crunch to each bite. My husband and I both agreed our favorites were the ribs and the pulled pork and should we return, these two meats would be on our radar. Regarding the sides, here is my review: The yellow corn was average - nothing special. The mashed potatoes were average - nothing special. Mac & Cheese - average, nothing special. The sauce on this item was too runny for us. The sauce wound up against other items on the plate. The cole slaw was nice, fresh tasting, but I think it needed a dash of fennel. The coleslaw and the potato salad (items which are served cold) were co-mingled on the plate with all the hot items. I would have preferred them being served inside a small bowl or container on the serving platter to keep them cold. The potato salad was very good - I would definitely order that again. The beans were excellent - I would definitely order those again. This menu item is also served with a piece of garlic bread which was very good - it had melted butter on it and tasted like garlic! I am giving this 5 Stars even with some short falls regarding flavor and or juiciness because of the environment, friendly staff, clean bathrooms, available to find parking without driving around, and menu choices. The menu is large, enough choices for everyone to get something. If we are back in the area, we will try one of their pizzas. Hannah was our server and she did a nice job checking on us since she knew it was our first time there. Very pleasant, nice smile, and good with her customers. Enjoy!

We ordered a double smash burger with bacon (an extra $2 charge) along with tomatoes, lettuce, and onion. The burger arrived with no bacon and none of the listed veggies. We also ordered a triple smash burger with cheddar cheese and tomatoes, lettuce, and onion -- again, none of the veggies were included. We also ordered a mashed potato bowl with chicken, corn, and brown gravy, but there was no brown gravy in it at all. Even though a lot of our order was missing, I will say the food itself still tasted good. The biggest issue, however, was the customer service. The young girl working there, who looked to be around 16 years old, was extremely rude and snotty. When I asked for plastic utensils, she replied, "We do not have any." I asked how we were supposed to eat mashed potatoes and gravy without utensils, and she shrugged and said, "Ma'am, we are a bar, we do not have it." I responded that I've ordered takeout from many bars before and they always provide plastic utensils. She then sarcastically replied, "Good for you, have a nice day." I tried speaking with who I believed was the manager (he nodded when I asked if he was), and while I was explaining the issue, the young employee continued interrupting and talking over me. Another waitress overheard the conversation and quickly returned with plastic utensils, proving they did in fact have them available. The employee then changed her story, saying she "didn't know" if they had utensils and claimed she was super sweet to me(not rude). There is no reason an employee should be speaking to customers this way. She clearly needs additional customer service training before handling customer interactions on her own.
