My family stopped by for lunch this weekend and we were pleasantly surprised to discover this hidden gem in Guilford. The food was absolutely delicious, and the service couldn't have been better. We ordered the chicken vindaloo, aloo gobi, lemon rice, and garlic naan to share, while my brother got his own lamb vindaloo made extra spicy. Everything was packed with flavor, came with the perfect amount of sauce, and the portions were generous enough that we even had leftovers to take home. The service really stood out. Our waitress was incredibly kind and checked on us throughout the meal, keeping our water glasses full, bringing extra rice, and making sure we had everything we needed. The restaurant was on the smaller side but had plenty of seating and a beautifully decorated interior. This is easily some of the best Indian food I've had in Connecticut. We love, love Jaipur Express ! We often get takeout & have eaten in a couple of times. The food & service are both excellent. We have treated out of town guests to Jaipur Express & now when they visit, they suggest it! As a final note the gentlemen who are owners/managers/waitstaff are absolutely wonderful. Jaipore Express was a recent find. A pleasant space set back in a business area and can be easily missed. The restaurant is small but nicely decorated and comfortable. Our waiter couldn't have been nicer. He answered questions and politely offered a few suggestions. Our chicken entrees were perfect! Tasty, good portions, and well executed. The Saag Paneer was not the best I've had. The garlic naan was excellent as well. Overall, a good choice and we'll be back. read more

Probably one of the best Indian meals I've ever had and I've had some good ones but this was over the top. We ordered four or five different things chicken lamb vegetarian everything was delicious. We have been here a few times and tried it for both sit down and takeout. Restaurant has a casual atmosphere, but the cloth napkins and sparkling water on the table are nice touches. The service is excellent. All employees we have interacted with are warm, welcoming, extremely well mannered, polite and smiling. They are comfortable taking requests and making adjustments as needed for spice level, allergies...they serve a really nice portion as well. We've tried quite a variety of dishes now and everything we have ordered here is delicious. Their takeout was just as fantastic (they do quite a busy take out business). It's one of our new favorite places. Great vegan/veg options, plenty for meat eaters, plenty that is gluten free, nut free, etc. Everyone can find something they want on the menu. I've gotten take out from here 3 times and every single dish I've ordered has been delicious. My favorite dish here is the Chana Masala but everything is good. I wish I could gate keep this place for myself because the food is AMAZING! We've been here a couple of times for both dine in and to-go, and everything has been absolutely amazing every time! You can really taste that the food is fresh, great quality, and made to order. Not only is the food fantastic, but the staff is also super friendly, and personable! Finally a great Indian restaurant that prepares food to order. Samosa filled with chunks of potato and freshly cooked peas, seasoned to perfection and baked in a pastry crust. So much better than the paste- filled, reheated variety you get at other Indian restaurants. The lamb korma was heavenly. One of the most delicious dishes I've had all year. Of course it's rich but what a treat. The naan was bubbly and crispy at the corners, and generously coated with ghee. Even the sauces are fresh and not watered down as they are in other restaurants. Last minute decision to try a new Indian destination. They have been open approximately ten months and I can say with food this good they will be open for as long as they like. Simple menu with some traditional favorites and a few new surprises. The service is a little slow or the waiter was letting us savor the food. A super addition to CT shoreline eating with delicious and generous portions of the best Indian food we ever had. The menu was broken down for us by Justin the owner and his description of diverse items from across India provided us just the right information we needed to order. The ambiance in the 20-25 seat restaurant was pleasantly refreshing with traditional decor and many windows. Our meals were prepared to order and arrived with such excitement by our server Jovanna that we knew we were in for a treat. The dishes were each spectacular in taste and presentation and after eating all we could there was enough food to take home for another meal! We plan to come back soon and often! Fabulous dinner at Jaipor Express last night! 5 of us went, aged 24 to 63, and we all loved it. Best Indian food on the shoreline, hands down. We ate in, as it is a lovely restaurant with great ambiance. We shared 4 entrees amongst us and it was more than enough food.
