Cheryl knows how to use the sound bowl so well, I fell asleep twice during slow flow yoga. Great hip stretch that I didn't even realize I needed. read more

Nice yoga studio- I did their intro offer and enjoyed several classes here. They have many different styles of yoga including yin, vinyasa and a separate studio for hot classes. I'm not into hot yoga so much but tried their yin and vinyasa options. The yin classes are very chill and one included a guy playing instruments and even singing. My favorite vinyasa was the Saturday community class which was high energy and good vibes. Studio is very clean and the stone floors are so refreshing when it's hot out. They have some cute merch like hats and shirts. Ample lot parking. Would definitely come back here especially for the Saturday community class. read more

Meg attends to every detail in such a thoughtful way- the playlist, the community care, the props, the flow and energy in the room. I can't imagine a more ideal yoga experience. read more

I took a therapeutic yoga class. The instructor, Laurel, was incredible. The practice was centering and educational. The space was also gorgeous, and easy to get to even though I live 30 minutes from the place. I'd recommend this school to anyone looking for a yoga school that is intentional, mindful, supportive, and still encourages the class in ways to expand and deepen their experience. read more

Wonderful evening at paddleboard yoga on Thompson Lake. Haven't used a paddleboard before & Vivian was great at teaching us the basics, getting us comfortable on the board, & I surprised myself with how many poses I could do on the board. And we had eagles watching us! read more

If you are looking for the most authentic Indian place for yoga. This will be your place. Staff is welcoming and loving and seem to be full of gratitude. I felt like my spirit felt happy as soon as I stepped into the door. The smells made me feel as if I am back in Pakistan or India, somewhere near my ancestors. I tell you it's all about the smells and aromas that bring your being into a whole different dimension. No, I am not high on anything just filled with gratitude and Love, trying to find more peace and this place had it. Returning for gentle class with Mary. I enjoyed Allison's 9am Saturday kundalini class. The class was great. Allison made the class very approachable and was a total delight.

Amy's vinyasa class is one of my favorites. She is an excellent teacher and compassionate person. It was my first vinyasa class in almost five weeks, and it was like coming home. Thank you, Amy and Jai! read more

Jai Yoga School - Yoga Near Me - Slingerlands, New York

Great teachers, great classes, each one unique, supportive environment. Truly one of a kind

I just bought a 6 month membership and I have really enjoyed my experience so far, especially with the Monday Yin and Meg's vinyasa class. All the instructors are welcoming and knowledgeable. The space is great. Ways to make your programming better for me personally (I know these suggestions may not be applicable to the general membership): 1. More yin classes on different evenings other than just 1x per week (the 7:15 time is perfect); 2. Classes a bit earlier in the afternoon on a few days (3:30?); 3. Classes earlier in the morning on a few days (I start work at 7am as do many in health care; 5am or 5:15 would be ideal). Thanks for everything you do. read more

Friendly staff, pleasant atmosphere, excellent facility and great classes.

Love the atmosphere, the staff and every instructor I've had so far at Jai. Really appreciated the Intro to Yoga course they offered.

very warm and welcoming, teachers are wonderful, I was able to jump in at my pace. Having never done yoga bebefore I was able to try different classes and different teachers and find what fit for me. read more

The classes are great, the teachers are incredible and nice, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the people just fostered a very positive vibe. The classes pushed me mentally and physically, and I learned more about my capabilities than I initially anticipated. Plus I was able to make the pace what worked for me, which was needed since this was my first ever experience with Yoga, and I haven't been active for a while. I look forward to more classes! read more

Amazing classes, community and overall vibe. This is my yoga home in the Capital District. I could not be happier here!

Jai is a warm and welcoming studio . Meg's Gentle Yoga class feeds the body and the soul.

Sarah is awesome. The place is super clean and chill. I love it! I'll be back!

I was refreshed and relaxed after the class. It was like mind therapy for me. My body is sore but it's a good pain:)

This place is so inviting and warm. It's a real community of great people. Look no further for a real yoga school that believes in you and supports your practice. read more

I've been to four classes at Jai with three different instructors. Thus far I have been to level 1 and level 1/2 classes. It is an intimate and lovely studio. Instructors are clear, kind and you leave feeling refreshed. I feel like the 1/2 classes are appropriate step up from level 1. It's a diverse studio in terms of skill level, race, gender, age etc - which I really appreciate. Jai gives a feeling of "all are welcome." I look forward to my next class. read more

Might be my favorite yoga studio in the Capital District. We used to take classes with Meg at a different studio, and followed her here where we also discovered Katie. In addition to the excellent teachers, the place itself is the perfect size for an intimate class, it's very welcoming, clean, and calming. read more

I have so many great things to say about Jai! On a recent visit to upstate NY to visit family for the holidays, I visited Jai four times in one week for yoga. This studio compares to my favorites in my home city (LA) and I just love the good vibes here! I took a variety of yoga classes and was happy to find that Jai is NOT hot yoga (which seems to be popular in upstate NY). The studio is GORGEOUS- it makes you feel like you're walking into a clean, green oasis! So many plants, lots of storage space, beautiful calming colors, and props galore. It was kept warm but not hot. There is one room as a yoga room and the student count varied by class time/instructor. Some were pretty packed wall-to-wall, others were intimate with three people. Every class felt spiritual and soothed my soul! Mostly all the classes started with the sound of the harmonium. The classes I took: Level 2/3 w/ Dustin - I really enjoyed this class the best! It was a stronger vinyasa flow and had my muscles burning and my body in a light sweat. You work through a few inversions and Dustin offers modifications, if needed. Happy Hour Unwind w/ Meg - Actually, this might've been my favorite! Meg is the owner and her classes seem very popular. This was a nice gentle flow and I totally got into the groove of tuning reality out. Level 1 w/ Deb - This was a slow flow with yoga 101 focus, which was great because Deb brought me back to basics and corrected a couple of my postures. She provided really great guidance! Soul Revival & Yoga Nidra w/ Katie - Loved this class and thought Katie was very sweet! She is really passionate about sharing yoga nidra and that was absolutely the best part of this class after a more restorative/yin-style asana. I hope I've done my elite duty on this review, I was surprised to see limited Yelp reviews focused on the yoga! Jai is just very special and I look forward to my next visit to the Albany area. read more

After having been a yoga teacher and student back in NYC for a couple years, I took a few years away from the mat for various reasons. Finding Jai has reignited my practice with their challenging and meditative classes and talented teachers. I've taken a few classes here now with Meg, Dustin, Deb, and Mandy and really loved them all. They all have their own welcoming style and vibe that I really appreciate. Also, the space is really lovely and a welcoming place to practice. Very grateful to have found this studio. read more

Kundalini classes with Allison on Thursday nights has been life changing. This is a full service yoga studio. Go and find peace!

What a welcome addition of Stephen to an already stellar team of yoga instructors at Jai. His Thursday evening candlelight class incorporates a gentle, serene beginning, then flowing into active movement at a pace that allows for a mindful and fulfilling practice. What a wonderful way to wind down from a full day -- restored and renewed for the new day ahead! read more

After trying a few yoga studios in the area, I'm so happy to have found Jai. Initially, I tried out one of their free Sunday classes in Washington Park & I enjoyed the class so I decided to try out the studio, too. Two months later, I'm hooked. Great studio (new, nice & modern but also warm & welcoming) with wonderful teachers who all have their own style but share a positivity & friendliness that fosters a great community experience. read more

I love this little yoga studio on Madison Avenue. I've taken a number of classes here so far and all of the instructors have been great. I love the community classes offered in the early afternoon on the weekends and the schedule provides a great variety of different classes at convenient times. The studio itself is a beautiful space, with great big windows looking out on Madison Avenue and providing lots of light. I love being able to look outside during class and see the sun shining or the snow falling. I've left feeling good after every class I've taken here. read more

Had a Swedish massage at Jai this morning with Julie. I was having shoulder tightness and my calf was sore from working out, and after mentioning these things to her, she spent the right amount of time, with the perfect amount of pressure, to alleviate these sore spots. This was probably the best massage I've had in years. The place is warm and inviting and I'll definitely be back for a massage and maybe even try out a yoga class (I miss my old studio in NYC and have been looking for a place with the same vibe!). Highly recommended! read more

This place is awesome. This was my first time getting a massage and Karen was so welcoming and professional. I could barely walk comfortably when I came in and now I have all my mobility back. The atmosphere was so relaxing, the massage was excellent, and the pricing was the cherry on top. I will definitely be coming back for yoga and another massage! read more

I heard about the opening of Jai through my tattoo artist Dustin, and decided to try out classes when they first opened. I have been practicing yoga for 7 years now and this is one of the best places that I have ever been too! Had a GREAT class with Victoria at 6:00 PM on Thursday. Nice space, both shared space / check-in area as well as class room. Luckily there were only two of us, so she was able to adjust us, when necessary, which I LOVE. She had a wonderful flow and great energy. Bonus points to her for incorporating a BEAUTIFUL chant to both open and close our practice. She knows what she's doing and I was NOT disappointed. I'll definitely visit again when I'm in town. read more
