I had my first visit at Jah Seal Mini Mart on a beautiful Saturday afternoon in Harlem. My brother Marc at Flamekeepers put me onto Jah Seal, having given me some beet sea moss drink he had from Jah Seal. I liked the taste and stopped by Jah Seal immediately afterwards to get my own beet sea moss to take home. Jah Seal is a happening spot. Everyone is in there getting these shots. I didn't have one. I was on a mission to get this beet sea moss smoothie or juice to take home, along with a few other stops. I had time to observe the happenings, because they needed to go out and purchase more beets. My only discrepancy is I purchased two large beet sea moss drinks, which was represented as filling four small bottles, but they gave me three small bottles. So it seemed someone decided three was enough and kept one. I was not there to argue the point and kept it moving. The drink is very good and good for you. Perhaps as a first timer, I had to pay the first timer tax. If I go there again, perhaps I'll get the "regular" treatment. In any case, Jah Seal comes highly recommended and there is a lot on offer here. They have supplements for sale on the left and right sides of the small store. An L shaped bar sits back and to the right. Seating is against the front window to your right as you walk in and down a few steps. It's a cozy spot. It's clean, despite being very busy. I don't know what is in these shots, but apparently they are fermented and have health benefits (probably gut health) as much as they have a kick. The reviews are not lying when they say this spot gets busy but it's nothing but good vibes! Despite being packed in a small space, everyone was so welcoming. Nothing but love, it was really a brotherhood. I wonder what made this spot so popular- I found out! The names of the tonic shots were cleverly daring haha! To say the least. Do not underestimate them! While they do your body good they'll also get you tipsy pretty quick. Their alkaline water was super refreshing and did the job to keep you balanced. The counter is served by the owners, a married couple who are no nonsense but so pleasant. I'm so happy to have learned about this spot- shoutout to my friend for the tip! Horrible experience, it's a cold rainy day and while I'm waiting on line for 5 minutes Some old man out of nowhere that doesn't even look like work for the store harasses me to take off my hoodie. I explained the older gentleman I'm cold and I've been in this store for 5 minutes already now you are just telling me this. I explained I'm only here to buy a patty and leave I'm currently delivering packages for work and I'm anemic. The old man continue to harass me and I left without purchasing anything. If you're looking for a genuine vibe around genuine people this is the place to be. I'm not a party person nor do I like clubs or lounges, needless to say the crowd here wasn't too overwhelming. It's usually crowded with people waiting to receive "line ups" from Musa. But these people aren't as annoying as bar and lounge people. Everyone here minds their business and that's what I love. So now. Line ups, you wonder what they are don't you? The best way I can describe it without giving the experience away is by saying its a clean nice vibe. Ya body feels good, and you FEEL good ;) It's the equivalent of a clean hendog(If you know what that is) Either way, I like this spot. Always can count on it for a great vibe. After hearing so much about this place I had to finally make a stop at the premier juice bar in Harlem. I will say this much it was definitely worth the visit. Not only does this serve as a juice bar but it's also a market that has natural products. When first walking in I was greeted by Brian who is very charismatic. I explained to him that this was my first visit which he then took the time to explain to me about the products they offer. I told him I was interested in the herbal tonic shots which he then further explained to me the benefits of each. After that I met the owner, Kurt, who was very pleasant himself. After talking to them both I finally decided to try their strongest shot (no alcohol). To my surprise it had a strong kick to it considering it has no alcohol. I then tried the Mandingo shot after which was delicious. All in all my experience here was lovely and they definitely turned me into a regular customer so I recommend this place as a must stop visit when in Harlem. read more
