I have been seeing Dr. Donath for a few months now and it has changed my life. I was seeing a…read morechiropractor for years due to hip and lower back pain. She would adjust me but never mentioned anything actually being wrong with my back. When I saw Dr. Donath he immediately told me that I likely have bulging discs and would need an MRI to identify the exact issues. I had the MRI done which showed two bulging discs. I started spinal decompression therapy and my pain is GONE. It has changed my life. Also, maybe some people out there can relate that I love watching y-strap (and ring dinger) videos on YouTube. Dr. Donath did the y-strap on me and it helped so immensely. I have three small children and have neck pain from hunching/holding them/always being on my phone. The y-strap fixed my neck immediately. I look forward to doing it again and hope to get more relief in my upper back next time. I really can't say enough good things about Dr. Donath. Even my 5 year old says how mommy no longer is in pain and no longer complains. I can play on the ground with my kids and not feel that constant ache. If you have seen chiropractors with no resolution to your pain, PLEASE go to Dr. Donath. It has changed everything for me.

Buyer Beware. They may not be a scam, but it sure feels like one…read more Please note that this is only my experience and does not reflect the people that work at Joint Effort. Everyone is really nice and they do a good job of making you feel comfortable. However: The entire process from start to finish is a bit of pseudo-science. You are first given a free book to read about decompression therapy and then are required to get an MRI to become a eligible patient. Turns out I had four herniated disks which just so happen to be eligible for decompression therapy. I was then quoted a figure of $7,000 for the entire 30 session process. Shortly afterwards I was exposed to dozens of alleged testimonials about how successful the process was. I figured that it would be worth the investment so I went ahead and started a payment plan with them. The process itself is a bit lackluster - you are literally laying down as a machine pulls at the bottom of your skull a centimeter or so for about 20 minutes. You are also given ice packs to take home with you and you're told multiple times to make sure to ice the neck and lower back area at least 5 times a day. For the most part, the pain started to go away although there were some times when I wake up with excruciating pain for a day which eventually went away. Fast forward 30 sessions later, and I noticed my pain started to return. However, the only thing that changed was that I was getting a bit lazy with the icing of my neck. And then it hit me, maybe it's the ice that is doing all the work and not the stretching. Either way - I asked for a copy of my statement for tax purposes and it turned out that $7k quote was a lie. I was charged $255 per session and my bill came out to $8,950 (~35 sessions). To summarize, nothing against the people that work here, but it seems sketchy. I wouldn't recommend unless you've tried surgery already and it didn't work.

This modern-looking facility is large and has everything- and I mean every equipment for rehabilitation, injury, management, etc. to restore physical function. But you have to do your work at home too- just don't rely on coming here and call it a day. And that's how it happened when I began with SportsCare in January to strengthen my knee. From the front desk to PT assistants(?)- everyone has been helpful- but I need to give Abey 'Ebby' Oommen- my therapist a shout-out for providing personalized care using a variety of techniques to promote movement, reduce pain, restore function on my left knee and achieve my goals. He also taught me how to avoid further damage on my knee tear so that I can achieve even more health benefits leading up to my surgery that I had in late June. Currently, Ebby is the man of the hour. Heck, he's always been since starting with him in Jan. '23. He's professional, super friendly, chill, caring and truly listens to you, your pains and gains. I mean the guy gives you results and instant relief. Again, you have to do your part as well. My very first PT visit post-surgery with Ebby was something I was looking forward to. Even though my foot walking position was off, he was astute and corrected that ASAP. I still have ways to go but what I also know is- he stays up to date on exercises and stretches that will benefit me and always uses best practices.

Updating my review with retrospective of having had PT at a several places following my surgery. I…read morestill think HSS Westchester is overrated but if you find a reasonable therapist there, it's okay (just don't pick Chery Sun). They are high volume so you may feel like a number but they try their best and you do get the full 20-30 minute with a PT compared to other chains where you may be with the assistant for half or more of the visits. They do have all the technology you could want (as do many other spots) and their scheduling system isn't the most client friendly and kind of a pain. But you eventually learn to navigate it and work with the (sometimes less than friendly) front desk staff. Overall, you can get your PT here if you want, just be aware of the advantages and disadvantages I mentioned, which may or may not apply to you at all. I did think that (like in many NYC area locations), the number of jerky therapists/staff is higher here than in other places (say Boston/DC)- but that's something you have to deal with regularly if you live in this area. Also be aware of the fact that in my opinion, PTs occasionally can make your orthopedic issues worse/injure you, especially if you get a PT who is not careful and who does not listen well to your feedback (it happened to me at a different location). This is a healthcare system wide issue and i did not get injured at HSS PT, however had I not changed PTs it may have happened. If you ever feel excessive pain during your PT and your PT does not seem to listen or take it seriously it may be in your best interest to get a new PT to avoid possibly injury.

I went for all their fancy tests. I spent five hours in that hospital to be told we cannot touch you because you have arthritis. They should have told me when I made a telephone appointment for their services. To top it off. I asked them if they could cut my leg above the arthritis, imagining the girl running with an artificial leg. " No, no," they said without hesitation. "We have another group of specialists that does that." Goodbye and walk away. They are quadruple-arm bandits in fancy respectable suits. DO NOT EXPECT FOLLOW UP CARE…read more The cascade of issues began with my 2-year-old having to wait for OVER AN HOUR in a small room despite having a 9:30am appointment, which was quite challenging for a young child. I was eager to dismiss the wait time as Dr. Rivera was kind and attentive, however the continued lack of professionalism wholly overshadowed that. There was ZERO follow up for my son. Despite sending messages to the office regarding a prior authorization for his orthotics 3 weeks ago and again 1 week ago, I still have not received any response. Their lack of follow-up and neglect has delayed my son's care for over 3 weeks, and has left us with no choice but to find another doctor. Perhaps non-surgical patients are not a priority to this office. I'm sharing this feedback in hopes that they address these issues and work towards ensuring a more positive experience for patients and their families. As a healthcare provider I was shocked, and if I were Dr. Rivera I'd be embarrassed.

From the very start there was a warm welcome and a feeling of trust and care shown to me to remove the apprehension of entering a facility. The staff from my first welcome until the day I'm writing this review have been nothing short of outstanding. Here at Burke you're not a faceless person. No, you're a human being with needs and wants in regards to being as functional as is humanly possible and the staff here will work with you to see your goals met. From my first day in therapy I was listened to. I really cannot say enough about the rehab team in its entirety because even though I was lucky enough to work with some stellar professionals, the entire rehab team exudes confidence and knowledge. The nursing staff that have cared for me did so with concern and compassion. I was so happy to see that. Nursing always responded, always cared and always approached with the utmost respect and professionalism and job know how. The support staff deserves a thank you also. Without the support staff to show an everyday patient kindness and courtesy really exemplifies the standard that is Burke Rehabilitation Hospital. Kudos to all here and a heartfelt THANK YOU Something to note...care and concern for patient safety is paramount here at Burke Rehabilitation. It took me an adjustment period to understand the reasons for the caution. Staff wants patients to be SAFE regardless of their level of function at home. I didn't realize that fact at first and now after several days of being here, I get it. Burke wants me going home better and stronger than when I arrived. So please understand if you are lucky enough to be here as a patient, staff puts you as a priority. Take it from me as a 6' 6" 300+ lb man that it was appreciated daily. To address the food as many have commented, I understood I was coming here for the medical and rehabilitation process which I can attest to is #1 hands down, the food came a distant second on my list of needs here. I'm appreciating the small weight management I've gotten here and I'll hopefully carry it through when I go home. The importance lies with how well you're treated and how far you will go in therapy.
