I was in from out of town, and was told that Dexter's would ship my glasses and shades for a mere $10. I was very happy with that arrangement. About a week later I received a call from their technician letting me know that my shades came in not-as-ordered and that there would be a delay of over a week. I let the technician know that I wouldn't be upset as long as I could get a discount for pain and suffering. He said he would look into it. A day or two later I got a voice mail and a couple of text messages letting me know that my glasses were ready, and could I please pick them up. I immediately called to make sure they were still planning to ship my glasses. They said they were. When I asked the person to verify my mailing address, she recited a totally incorrect address. Since I'm a firm believer that lots of little mistakes can entail a much larger one, I asked to speak with a manager (Jon) to voice my concerns over this handful of mistakes. He patiently listened to my hysterical yammering, them told me he would make sure everything went smoothly from then on. Jon handled everything personally, I got my very generous discount, and so far I'm super happy. I love my glasses, which were speedily and safely shipped, and now I await the shades. I could really use some good luck today…read more First, they requested a referral from my PCP without even asking me. I have vision insurance, and I specifically told them I wanted that used. Instead, they billed my health insurance anyway. Second, they dilated my eyes again, even though they had done it just a few months earlier. It didn't seem necessary, and it felt like another way to bill my health insurance instead of my vision plan. Then, when it came time to fit my progressive lenses, the machine they normally use wasn't working. Instead of taking proper measurements, the employee just estimated everything by sight. I usually wait about four weeks for my glasses, but these came in after only one week, which immediately made me wonder if something was wrong. As soon as I put them on, I knew they weren't right. I tried wearing them for two days, hoping my eyes just needed time to adjust, but they don't. My vision is cloudy, and the glare and reflections are so bad you can barely see my eyes through the lenses. I have an appointment today so they can "see what they can do." I'm really stressed and hoping they make this right. Wish me luck!

Really. Most recently we had to call because we were experiencing some eye issues of uncertain origin. The staff carefully listened to us and ultimately arranged for a speedy appointment with Dr. Jaeger. At a time when many of us have difficulties getting in to see our doctors on an urgent basis, this office is different -- and honestly, quite exceptional. We had another good examination, our problem resolved, and we could not be more grateful and eager to spread the word to others in search of the highest quality ophthalmologic care.

It had been years since I was there, and even then, I had only been once every two years or so. It was really nice to be put at ease with a courteous, personal and kind staff. The paperwork was just one double sided piece of paper, the wait was short and the exam itself moved quickly. My eyes aren't very bad at all, and so maybe other's experience will be different, but in under 30 minutes I was in and out with new contacts and an updated prescription. Also, the team there is 100% honest. Each procedure was clearly explained to me, and the fees associated with things my insurance would not cover was discussed before getting any work done. So not like they don't tell you lies honest, but they genuinely took the time to explain each procedure and not up-charge me just because I'm ignorant to the medical world of eyes. I typically go the cheap Chinese direct glasses (because I break a pair every 3 months or so) - but when I had them in the past, I was able to get my glasses that same day. I'm sure depending on your prescription and frame choice - that's not always going to be the case, but they are on top of their stuff, and as quickly as it can be done - it is. Anyways - I would never think to go anywhere else to have my eyes checked out as I actually look forward to the friendly staff here.

What I went through revealed misrepresentation, unethical conduct, and careless scheduling policies. Patients are shuffled around like numbers, not treated as people. I was initially hopeful when referred to Dr. Aaron Fay, expecting professional cataract care. During my consultation on October 30, 2025, Dr. Fay explained that I had severe cataracts (1.5 in my right eye, 1.0 in my left) and recommended Toric lenses to address my astigmatism and glare from headlights. He then referred me to the surgery coordinator to schedule surgery for November 13, 2025, and pay $1,200 for the Toric lenses. I was also told to return November 4 for measurements. At that appointment, however, the technician told me she was measuring for a "comprehensive lens" based on Dr. Fay's notes -- something completely different from what he discussed. When I questioned this, she became defensive, accused me of being rude, and tried to reschedule me. I asked to speak with a manager and eventually sat down with Vivian, the office manager, and the coordinator by phone. They told me the confusion was due to miscommunication, that the Toric lens wasn't available in the U.S., and that my cataract wasn't suitable for one anyway. In short, everything Dr. Fay told me changed overnight. When I requested to speak to Dr. Fay directly, I was told he was unavailable and would call me the next day -- which never happened. A few days later, I learned my surgery had been cancelled without my consent. Another office told me it was due to my so-called "bad behavior" for asking questions and wanting clarification about my own eyes and costs. His surgery coordination manager also informed me that Dr. Fay's office would send me a letter regarding the cancellation and my bad behaviors, but so far I received no such a letter. This entire experience was egregious, unprofessional, and deeply disrespectful. Patients deserve truth, communication, and ethical treatment -- not confusion, arrogance, and cancellations. My advice: stay far away from Longwood Eye & Lasik unless you want to be treated like a number, not a patient. What a horror.

I have had several follow ups and have been impressed every time that I have gone. Each time I have been warmly welcomed and checked in. All of the staff have been very kind and friendly.
