RUN FAR AWAY !!! SCAMMER
1 st of all my family has been in business over 80 years, One day I was looking for a diamond for my customer I didn't have that particular one in stock so I went to a internet wholesale site just for the trade where I have bought and sold my diamonds regularly before with no issues. Most of the time jewelers can get stones in on credit except maybe first time customers, I personally don't memo to people so I was ok with wiring the funds before I got the stone I have done this many times and never had an issue and since I needed the stone in two days so my customer could make his trip I knew most would need funds before shipping so quickly. Larry had the stone I needed and it was GIA CERTIFIED AND $100/200 less than anyone else and he sounded like a good guy.
Next day I get the stone and don't open the box for a day until my customer arrives (I didn't want to misplace or mix with my inventory) I soon realize after examining the stone it is chipped, I am a diamond cutter not a huge deal I can fix the stone but after closer examination I notice the stone is not a F color as the cert says its a K color its not even the same weight its close in measurements and clarity but its basically $2,500 less valuable plus chipped after fixing it could break completely. I tell Larry what is going on and he says let me check my inventory maybe two stones got switched. This happens I have done it before when comparing stones you put them in the wrong paper Im not worried yet I figured he correct it. A week goes by and I can't get ahold of Larry He's busy then never returns my calls now I'm getting worried. Since I couldn't pass along this rip off to my customer I have to call another dealer in NY who just by giving them my name has heard of me and sends me a $5,000 stone over night no paperwork no accounting no references and its a prettier stone than I should have gotten in the first place.
After about 10 days of waiting I finally get a hold of Larry and he's Dumbfounded and says he has no other stone of that size shape in inventory and couldn't have mixed them and without accusing me basically insinuates I must be lying and mixed or switched the stones on my end or blames my employees. At first talking to Larry He said he was coming to Oregon to watch a sporting event (go ducks) and would stop by next month. After the issue I told him I have cameras and opened the box in front of them and never took the diamond away from camera views & Plus my reputation is unparalleled being only 27 years old a fourth generation diamantaire and jewelry store owner who got here without any family financial assistance only a name and legacy I wouldn't have anything to gain as I already paid for the diamond. It might not have been larry it could have been an employee or he might have bought this K color as an F WITH GIA PAPERS AND NOT THOROUGHLY CHECKED THE STONE OUT AND JUST SENT TO ME. Either way I ended up paying $4,800 for a diamond worth $2,000-
I sent him back the stone and demanded my money he wouldn't refund me or give me what I ordered so I was stuck keeping the stone. In the beginning he said he was making only $1,000 profit on the deal so I pleaded with him Ill keep the stone and a $1,000 partial refund he doesn't loose and I loose less he wouldn't do that instead he sent me $500 partial refund and the worthless stone.
HOPE HE GOES OUT OF BUSINESS. read more
