If I could give any college student in the UW-Milwaukee area it is this: do NOT rent from Jael Properties, run by Dennis. Oh my GOD. When I rented from this company it is was the worst 12 months of my entire life. The landlord is extremely unprofessional, has many lawsuits filed against him previously. He shows up unexpected and without notice at any random time when you don't need anything, gives no notice when he is going to show the apartment/house and then gets mad when bedrooms are not unlocked because nobody is home.
When I moved in the house was a complete wreck that required extensive repairs and maintenance. We had set a timeline for everything to be completed within the first month of the lease. Most of those things were still not completed when I moved out!
The management company, Mandy, never, and I mean NEVER answers the phone. How they rent out their properties is beyond me. They claim to mail you your bills monthly given the exception of water, which is to be billed quarterly. Every month is a waiting game of when your bills are going to come. The monthly bills either come at a random date in the month, or you will get five months worth of bills all at once. You can never get a hold of Mandy to have her send you her bills. I leave a voicemail multiple times a week about needing my bills yet I receive no response.
My advice to you, save yourself 12 months of unnessary stress and find yourself a landlord and management company that actually knows how to run a business. read more
