From the second I walked in the door I was greeted with some of the nicest women I've ever met. I did not have an appointment but I just wanted to know what kind of dresses they had. Well let me tell you that if you cannot find anything to wear, you're not looking. I was astounded at the most beautiful dresses for all shapes and sizes.... Bo was the person who taught me a ton of options I had and she is also the woman who does the alterations. I looked, I loved and now I am going to make an appointment to try on dresses... I visited the Jacqueline shop to look for a dress for a family wedding after two family members spent over $1000.00 for their dresses and rehearsal dinner outfits there. I was glad to be supporting a small, woman owned business. After looking at several dresses I was asked to provide my credit card for a $400.00 deposit as the owner was ordering three dresses for me to try on in my size because she did not have them in stock. I was shocked and asked what would happen if I did not buy one of the dresses and she said there would be a small restocking fee. When I further asked how much that would be, she waved her hand and said it was "minimal, usually 10%". Therefore, I estimated that to be approximately $40.00, which I was ok to risk having to pay as I wanted to potentially give the store my business and other family members had success there. After I returned to try on the dresses, I did not buy one due to their style and/or fit in person. Because the owner was not there, she called me later to tell me I would be charged a $200.00 restocking fee and she would credit me back the remaining $200.00. I was speechless at first, then reminded her of the business my family had already given her and her own words of "small, minimal and usually 10%". When the owner asked how I would find a dress I said that I was looking online at Nordstrom, Lord and Taylor and Macy's. She told me she carried many of the same brands and if I found one online to let her know and she would order it through her shop. I asked her why I would do that when if the dress I ordered online did not work out I could return it for no charge vs. having to pay her another restocking fee. (She did not have an answer). I know I was naïve and stupid and should have left when she asked for my credit card. An expensive lesson learned on my part. read more

This place was awful. I wish I could give less than 1 star. The lady that was helping me was continuously body shaming me. If I found something flattering she would disagree and told me "it didn't hug me right". I have never felt more exposed and violated than I did when I was here. What was supposed to be a fun and feel good day was ruined by this worker. Never going back. read more

While my mother was looking for a dress for my wedding the employee helping her told her areas of her body that needed improvement while looking at dress styles. When my mother stated the dress was a little bit too long the employee then stated "that was the least of her problems". I am not sure where people get off being this rude or think that would at all make anybody feel good about themselves but I wish your employees would be better and not hurt others feelings. read more

My experience seems to be different from the majority here. Stopped in with my daughter, to look for a prom dress . Let me start by saying, you will need to expect higher end, here. Paying $500 for a prom dress was not my plan , but...I did ! The formal dress selection was fabulous and I had a great time looking through them with my daughter . All of the staff working on this particular day were friendly and accomodating . My daughter actually chose a dress that was selected by the associate, and it is gorgeous . The associate noticed a couple of loose beads on the dress (in an area that will be altered anyway, so I was fine with it , but she painstakingly worked to save them which was greatly appreciated. The clothing shop on the right side as you walk in, had some truly gorgeous, fun pieces as well. I was all around impressed. I hate to knock a star for prices , but a few more choices in the mid range would be great ! read more

my friend and I who are kinda plus size decided to come here to look for a dress. My friend found one she liked after being told by the OWNER, Jacki, that if she wanted to fit in one dress she liked that "she knew what she had to do ." She told me as well, "honey you have too much meat on ur back to look good in that." My friend placed money down on the one dress after being treated horrible. So then we went back to get her money back to only ARGUE with the owner again OVER THE PHONE who made horrible comments again such as "I only said that because I didn't want the zipper to bust or break." Top rate dress shop! My daughter and I stopped in February for a prom dress. The store was not busy so we did not feel rushed at all. The service we received was unbeatable! The owner personally took care of us and could not have been nicer! Another associate also helped and was excellent, as well. The dress selection is vast! Wasn't expecting to buy on our first shopping trip out, but we did! Alterations are reasonably priced. They also have a nice selection of women's wear too. I would highly recommend! read more

I felt called to write in support of Miss Jacqueline and her shop. In trying to locate business hours, I happened upon Yelp Reviews and wondered if I was in the same store as these negative reviewers. (I made my first visit last Thursday, knew business hours had changed, why I hit upon Yelp to check out new schedule.) My experience with Miss Carol, who immediately assisted me, and Miss Jackie, the owner was absolutely stellar. I had never been in the store before and was getting desperate to find a formal dress for my granddaughter's wedding. (I wear a Petite Size and did not think I would find anything.) I discovered the selections were absolutely beautiful; there was something for me despite no Petites, per se, in the store. (Alterations are available. I only needed a dress-hemming.) While being served, I overheard how kind and helpful the staff were to other customers while I was in the dressing room. You can believe me when I say there is something timely for everyone at Jacqueline's, no matter the occasion, size, or age group. Further, you will be most greatly appreciated, respected, and assisted as potential buyers. I give this store an AMAZING 5 me and my 2 daughters went to this salon to look for a prom dress and they had many choices fir us to look thru. MB was my daughter's sales associate and she was wonderful!! She helped my daughter and after talking with her understand what kind of prom dress she was looking for and was nothing but friendly, kind and helpful. disgusting place to shop. I was body shamed along with my friend for being too heavy when I'm a size 12. She argued with my friend over the phone to later insult me more. I don't recommend shopping here if you are even kind of considered bigger then most. Owner was very rude and was actually the lady to insult us. She would not give me my money back until my friend argued with her over the phone. No one should own a dress store and make their customers feel bad about their weight. I bet Sherri hill wouldn't like to hear that one of their representatives is basically calling people fat and making them feel bad about their weight. read more

Second time here! Went against my better judgement as the first time was terrible! Salespeople are rude and dismissive and go so far as insulting shoppers! Well, this experience was even worse! One of the young ladies was brought to tears when a salesperson said "that dress is not for you" in front of everyone and literally grabbed it out of her hands! Don't go here! The women working in this store were HORRIBLY rude to my mother and aunt who were shopping for mother of the bride dresses. The one woman kept correcting my aunt about what size she was on a very disrespectful way and was essentially calling her fat. They were also extremely pushy and trying to sell whatever they could and get us out of the store as fast as possible. Didn't have any of the colors in stock that were supposed to be. They carry old swatches from seasons ago. Prices are atrocious. The saleswomen are just awful. What an unbearable, unsuccessful experience. We'll never go back here again. read more

my friend and i stopped in the Jacqueline shop today to look for prom dresses! the owner Jackie was the sweetest women i have ever met. she was extremely helpful and complimenting. At no point did we feel pressured to purchase a dress that day and gave her honest opinion for all the different dresses we had tried on. my friend and i had been to previous prom dress shops and have been ignored and neglected as costumers but it was the complete opposite at jackie's shop. if you are looking for a dress the Jacqueline shop is hands down the best choice! she also has a very nice selection of different designers and styles!! thanks jackie for all the help!! read more

I hate to ever write a poor review, as I am one to always give the benifit of the doubt. I visited this store with my daughter to look for MOB dress for my son's wedding. I had acutally called ahead and spoke to the owner, becasue I saw on line that they carried a dress that I fell in love with. Too bad she wasn't there becasue the woman that waited on us, Bobo, was as rude as I have ever been treated. When I asked about the dress in question she looked down her nose at me and said, "we don't have that dress and we wouldn't have it in you size anyways"! WHAT??? I am NOT plus sized, although not a size 6 either. She is a "fat" shamer and should be ashamed of herself. She told me that They would have very little in the store that would fit me and would need to measure me and order something for me. Let me repeat, I am a size 12. I will NEVER return to this store again. It's hard enough trying to find a dress that doesn't make you look like a grandmother, never mind have a sales clerk make you feel that you are less than worthy. I continued to give her the benifit and asked her to show me some silloettes that may work for my figure. She brought in dresses with rhinesones, brouches, and everything that I told her I hate. She should have had some indication by the way I was dressed as to what my tastes were if she were any type of sylist at all. She isn't worthy of my or any other women's business, wether we are a size 0 or 20, we are all worthy and beautiful. I went here last Sunday to look for a dress for an up coming wedding, I am attending in May. I don't know how this place is still running! I was in the store for 20 minutes and NOT ONE SALES WOMAN, acknowledged me; no smile, no hello, no welcome, no can we help you find something. Granted it's prom season, but you still don't neglect other customers. I wanted to inquire about a dress but after the fact of being in there for 20 minutes and you don't acknowledge a customer is a horrible way to run a business! Never again will I visit this store or recommend any to go there! I would never waste my time again or give them my money, their prices are so high! I wish I never brought my daughter here for her prom gown. I wanted her to feel beautiful and special, but the rude staff made the whole experience awful. The gorgeous gowns are extremely pricey, as are the alteration fees. I wouldn't have felt as bad about the cost, had there been even the smallest ounce of decent customer service, but we left both times feeling like we were being looked down on. We still have to go back to pick the gown up, and I am dreading it. read more

My daughter went prom dress shopping with a friend and was talked into putting a $550 prom dress on layaway in February. She put down $100. I called the shop and explained I would need time to pay for it and they were fine with it. I called in 2 payments. When I called a 3rd time about the time frame for the balance to be paid (it took some time to save for this dress...) and the fitting for alterations...even more money..... which could not be done until the dress was paid in full, I was told the first week of May would be fine and enough time for alterations for the May 21st prom....Well today we entered the store for the alterations and a woman in the back with an accent, yelled out "you bought this dress in February and you are only giving us 2 weeks..do you see how many dresses are here!" "You are not giving me enough time!!!!" My daughter got so upset and immediately wanted to leave. I tried to explain that I called and was told it was enough time..she continued to argue about the appoinment time and not the time for alterations. I said no, I called and gave the date of the prom when I made this appointment! If they would have told me during the 3 other conversations, I would have come sooner and paid the balance sooner if we were told it wasn't enough time for alterations. I was made to feel like we were not good enough because we put the dress on layaway and supposedly waited too long....this woman carried on and on about the time and I unfortunately lost my cool and shouted "next time make sure when someone gives you a date to have alterations by you abide by that.." I paid for the dress and left. Now having to have the alterations done elsewhere!! Thanks for giving my daughter such a terrible Senior prom experience when this is supposed to be such a happy time!! read more

Very disappointed. The customer service is just downright rude/horrible. I pretty much had a, which i will use another reviewer's words... "grouchy" saleswoman hover over me and my 2 1/2 year old daughter. I just wanted to look on my own- but she insisted I look in a teen prom section (which have cut outs in the wrong places for a business cocktail party that i will be attending), and the worst part for me which made me walk out- was when the saleswoman was almost arguing with me about trying on a size that i knew wouldn't fit. After losing much weight to chemo, I am almost boney, definitely a 0 or 00, and had to have all of my clothes at home taken in already, so I know what fits and what doesn't, and I had a saleswoman telling me to try on a size 6 or 8 because I "never know- just try it on- it might fit". After about 5 times of her picking up either dresses with barely anything there or those that were too big, and hearing the woman tell me that she knows better than I do and to just try it on, I grabbed my daughter and walked out. This is NOT what dress shopping should be like. As women, we know our own body, what would fit and what doesn't. It does not take an expert to know that if you are smaller than a 0 or 00, that a 6, 8, or 10 will not fit. I seriously think the salespeople need to be retrained, especially in the department of empathy. I will NOT be stepping foot in this store ever again. read more

Have no clue how this place is still in business. If you are looking to bring your daughter to buy a prom dress here, don't. If you are looking to buy a mother of the bride dress here, don't. My mother went here to try on mother of the bride dresses, only to be told she was too heavy to wear the dresses she was looking at. (Mind you my mother is NOT heavy- and was looking at conservative dresses). My mother left in tears. Turns out the woman who told her she was too heavy is the OWNER. Do you want your daughter to have good self esteem? do you want yourself or your daughter to feel beautiful in your/her special gown? You won't find that here. I bought my prom dress from this store years prior, I had a good experience with the young women working but when it came time to try on my fitted gown I was degraded (by the owner). People like that should not stay in business. Do not support bullies. read more
