Unfortunately I didn't realize that until I ordered and realized other people were given other menus with better and less expensive option. I'm not sure how they determined that I was going to the concert. And about the burger, it looked like a compressed meatloaf patty, nothing like ground beef. The ambiance was what you would expect from sports bar and the service was adequate but somehow slow on dinner even there weren't too many patrons in the restaurant. Tip for USA travelers: USA sets itself a part in service when you go to restaurants but Europe is a bit different and have lower standards when it come to service. So be nice to your server and hostesses and they tend to take care of you better. I chatted with the server and complimented her on her ability of English language and she kept checking on me as often as she could but she ignored most of tables around me.

The bartenders were super nice and friendly (always a pleasant surprise) and were talking to the other regulars about what they did last night and what they plan to do after work. Super casual. It seemed like they were also very knowledgeable about beer so if you're not sure, you can consult with them to get recommendations. The beer was great and there were a lot of options. The location is near the park and also near a tram stop if you want to take public transport after your beers (or beer tour, in my case). I hope to do the beer tour again when I'm in Amsterdam and therefore come back to Craft & Draft.

Wooden tables and finishing, black chalkboard, 40 taps and a pleasant bar man who is knowledgable about beer. This is a good place for a pint and there will be options to fit whatever taste you have. I got a lovely IPA recommended to me and really enjoyed it. It's quite far out the centre, but that's actually a good thing and it's worth the walk. If you like craft beer and find yourself in Amsterdam you should make the effort to visit craft & draft.

In addition to serving up a variety of local and international beers, Stadsbrouwhuis also brews their own tasteful ales. Though their (very affordable) vegetarian dishes won't fill you up for a night of drinking, their crunchy and thickly sliced French fries do a fine job. We've only seen (rather than tasted) their other food from a distance, but everything looks like a well-made and inspired fusion of styles. As for their snacks: they're on the pricey side but very generous. Finally, the friendly staff is always excited to help you in beer-mergency situations. And in the rare occasion that their descriptions don't trigger your taste buds, you're always welcome to have a free taste. A great place to stop after exploring the windmills across the waterway. They have a delightful little outside area with full service at picnic tables (which was where everyone was on the nice day I visited) as well as plenty of interior tables. The brewery itself is in a connected building, and unlike many pubs I saw in Holland, this one had a good selection of beers, as befits a proper micro-brewery. I elected to try the blood-orange IPA -- it was good, and a little different, which is what I was looking for. I got intrigued by the menu, and ended up ordering the chicken and waffles. The waffles looked overcooked to my American eyes, but they tasted fine, and the fried chicken breast was tasty with a good exterior crunch and lots of flavor.

There were several kinds of meat on the board, from salami to prosciutto. All were delicious, and all seemed to melt in your mouth.
