Folks give this mall a hard time because it doesn't have a lot going for it, but Jacksonville itself doesn't offer much. You have Western Blvd and two other main roads and that's it. I'm super grateful that it exists. This is a decently sized mall for the town. The mall has around 60 stores and kiosks combined. That's really good! I don't know what others are expecting? Sorry it doesn't have a Gucci store? On a good day when I feel like abusing my wallet, I only visit a quarter of the stores - GameStop, Torrid, and Hot Topic included on the list. The food options are meh, but most of the time I don't venture far from my chicken teriyaki samples and a pretzel. Restrooms are clean which is a huge thing for me! I can't stand a public space with dirty toilets! You get to walk around, see the sights, hang out with friends and family... It's a good, little mall. Give it a break. read more

Seriously, they went overboard with the sham jewelry stands. The incessant calling from the kiosks every 15 feet is absurd. Next, two of the businesses actually caught an attitude with me for not wanting to look at their stores despite me politely saying, "I'm all good man have a good day" once called upon. It was a mall. There was a variety of well known stores (Hot Topic, Victoria's Secret, Barnes& Nobel) and some unique finds. The workers at all stores were nice. I don't know how to speak to the value categories. It was a typical mall in the southern US. We had a nice time, my teenagers liked it, if I went back to Jacksonville, I would visit again. read more

I would never buy anything from this store again. I got a pair of shoes for my wife in store, had them ordered and shipped to my house. She loved them and put them on her shoe rack, time came to wear them and one shoe was size 8 (correct shoe size) and one shoe was size 10. The store and customer service didn't do anything when it was THEIR fault for the wrong sizes. This is a sports store we are talking about that can't even give pairs of the same size shoes. Pathetic. Most of the mall is decent but some of the kiosk vendors are too pushy and are overpriced. Especially Carolina Fragrances they sell perfumes 3x the average price and don't accept any refunds and don't show prices. read more

This mall has definitely stepped its game up over the years. I remember this mall having very limited stores and it wasnt as crowded as it is now. My latest visit over the Thanksgiving holiday and I was surprised to see how many new stores are in the mall. Particulary a few new places to eat plus their staple old skool restaurants. Its a decent shopping spot to check out if you're in the area. Thankfully I was with my cousin who is from the area and knows her way around because it was confusing finding your parking spot. I went to the Mall last Weekend. It looked Dirty. I thought to My Self: it's Not Crowded right Now, Maybe they're Cleaning. (It had Only been 2 Hours After 9Am) a few Minutes later I went to the Facilities. As I walked Down the Hall, I saw a lot of Scuff Marks, & Dust. I walked into the Men's Rest Room. The Smell of Urine was so Strong that I turned right back around, & hoped the Family Rest Room was Open. I tuned the knob, & the Door Opened. While it did Smell of Urine, the Mirror, Sink, counter, & changing table looked like it had been cleaned. The floor, & the 2 toilets didn't look clean. Thankfully, I only had to urinate. As I washed my hands, & went towards the other end of the mall. After I got to Ben&jerry's I saw a Cleaning guy for the Mall. He was Talking to the Ben&jerry's Worker, & a Female Security guard while his hands were on the cleaning cart. They were all laughing, as it seemed the Cleaning guy had said something they thought was funny. I walked up to the Cleaning guy, & told the Men's Rest Room smelled really bad. He looked at Me like a was Gum on the Bottom of his shoe, & said: Oh! Does it?! Ok I will go roll down there. He looked at the Female Security guard, rolled his eyes, & motioned for her to follow him. They both walked towards that direction while He pushed the cleaning cart. read more

I recently visited the Jacksonville Mall. (The Week of July 4th.) There looked to be People for Cleaning Staff. I was there in the Afternoon, & then later that Evening. In the Afternoon there was a Older Woman who had a Cart. She did a Good Job keeping the Tables Clean. I saw a Older Guy with a Cart. He kept the Public Areas, & Men's Rest Room Clean. When I returned later that Evening, I saw a Woman who looked to be in their 20's-30's with a Cart, & when She didn't have a Cart, She was replenishing the Trash Bags in the Receptacles. These 3 People seemed to be Friendly. Later on I saw 2 Other Older Women. They were Cleaning the Benches, & Tables. They looked Tired, & Not very Happy to be there. The mall is pretty small, but it has a good selection of stores. The restrooms are clean and properly kept. There's mostly clothing stores, but you can find a small variety of other things like jewelry, gifts, novelty and even military uniforms. The food court also has good variety from a Chick fil a to fresh juices, Ben & Jerry's ice cream and Chinese food! Outside is a Red Robin or Starbucks nearby too. For the size of the city I think this mall is decent and does the job! read more

I have lived in small towns with small malls before. However, J'ville is decent in size, and needs a much bigger mall to accommodate all of the ladies shopping all day every day. There are a few good stores, but most of them confuse me and/or make me feel uncomfortable. Also, the mall really needs renovating on the inside. It's very outdated and smells weird. read more

What can I say here other than Jacksonville needs a mall...I do not see this as a mall but as a shopping centre with few stores. I was highly disappointed with the selection of stores and found it hard to believe that's it! In a military town that has grown in numbers I honestly think its unacceptable,however I'm sure people are thankful for what is there. I do not recommend anyone depending on this mall if you really need particular styles or brands. I was floored not even a Hollister with this area its just dated. Food court is the same nothing really worth spending money on...Just leave the mall and drive further up Western to a restaurant. There isn't a sports store inside the mall and perhaps I haven't been here long enough, but I'm wondering if people just order their jerseys etc online? What can I say...this Mall is a staple of Jacksonville. It has gone through tremendous change and growth over the last 25 years when 1st walked in to it. Its the only mall in jacksonville but has to compete with alot of shopping centers. They have done an amazing job of bringing in name brand stores and flushing out the side line money takers that used to populate the mall years back. My favorite store in the mall, "Zumiez", was the only store I wanted to go into after they reopened the mall. Once someone walked out, someone could walk in. So we're next in line and someone walks out and my friends and I who were there to buy things and get out, get kicked out. And I'm confused because that was the pattern and all of the sudden we get kicked out. The guy who kicked my friends and I out was saying he's security, but with no security shirt. He told the people who were behind us to cut us and told us to go to the back of the line. Now I'm back in line and getting disrespect looks from the same guy. Unbelievable service . Most confusing parking lot I've ever experienced, especially considering how small this mall is. And the speed bumps in the back are the size of logs. Seriously, you could rip out your undercarriage on those things. As for the mall itself, there's not much to say that hasn't already been said. Limited stores, pushy kiosks, really Barnes & Noble is the best part of it. I guess if you live in the area, this may be your best bet for shopping, but if you have the ability to go elsewhere, do so. read more

There are a few stores in this mall that I frequent--mostly Barnes and Noble (or as I call it, the crack house) and I've been known to hit Sears at few times as well. My daughter does like Hot Topic. The mall is usually clean, so I can't complain about that--even the bathrooms. The major complaint I have is with those crazy women at that sea salt kiosk who accost me every single time I walk past them. I HATE being accosted! I hate it so much I have been known to exit the mall, walk to my car, move my car to the other side of the mall to enter a store on that end so that I don't have to walk past them. I've complained to the management, but there is nothing they can do. I have noticed those crazy women do not like it so much when I yell "I SAID NO DAMN IT!" after they have yelled 'Ma'am..Ma'am, can I show you something" at me. LEAVE ME ALONE! Overall the mall gets 3 stars from me. This particular kiosk would have to pay me for even one, but having it there (and a couple others just like it) brings score down for this mall. Eh. This mall is okay. They do need a food court, which I feel is essential to any mall. Many of the food places are accessed from the outside. There are a few food places inside, but there is no centralized seating area to eat. They have the basic essentials of stores, offering stores for all ages and both genders. Some of the stores include Gap, American Eagle, and PacSun. They also have a few department stores like JCPenny. Their Barnes and Noble is great. I just wish they offered more store selections. I rarely shop here, and when I do, it's more of a headache than it's worth. The pros: I guess Barnes and Noble would be it. LOL. And I have been in Foster's, the moto store, a few times, and they're always very helpful. They have a lot of adorable little Marine Corps outfits for my kids, which I love. The cons: there are a lot. 1. The parking. It is horrendous. There is nowhere near enough parking as it is, and for some reason, the brain trusts who planned this mall decided to make a good half of it compact car parking only. WTH? It makes no sense. But really, no matter when you come to this mall, finding a parking spot is difficult. It doesn't matter how busy or slow it is. Parking is so non-existent that you are virtually guaranteed to drive around looking for at least ten minutes. 2. There is not a huge variety in stores. I'm not a huge shopper, so it isn't terrible for me, but because there are so few stores, if I need to go shopping, I'm more likely to drive to Wilmington than I am to come here. I come to this mall mainly to either go to Kay, to get a piece of jewelry repaired or something, or to Barnes and Noble. There are really very few other options. There are three department stores, but they even seem to be smaller versions than normal without much selection. 3. There isn't a food court. There are restaurants in the mall -- Red Robin and Tony's Pizza, for example -- but most malls have a food court, with quick stops for food and a seating area. Not here. There are a few benches sporadically placed around the mall, but there aren't a whole lot. If you eat in Chick Fil A or the Chinese place, there are tables and chairs, but that's it. 4. It is way too small. Being that it is the only mall in a town full of young people who are here ALL THE TIME, it is always crowded. Doesn't matter how many people are actually at the mall... it's too small, and then they squeeze in kiosks in along every single walkway so it ends up being crowded the entire time. You're constantly having to navigate your way through crowds of people. Overall, this isn't the worst mall I've ever been to. I don't really have a specific store that I feel like it NEEDS to have, like Forever 21 or Abercrombie & Fitch. But in general, this city needs a larger mall with more stores, better parking, and a larger facility in general. It is funny, though, considering that people complain about this mall and how horrible they think it is, yet it's ALWAYS packed. So I guess people around here don't hate it that much! read more

Never go to quickfix in the mall went there to get my back glass replaced and they broke my front glass and said it was like that and after getting it back was not able to talk or take pictures anymore and took it somewhere else to get the phone looked at and they said they took half the screws out so everything just rattled apart so you keep bringing it to quickfix read more

Disclaimer: I have been a transplant resident of Jacksonville, NC since Sept. 2003. My reviews are based on forgotten first impressions. The Mall - where to begin. I grew up near the Mall of America. Obviously this local shopping district pales in comparrison. If you are looking for an experience, the mall is not the place to be. The shopping is limited; however, if you can not wait on internet shipping times - you might find your item at the mall. But be warned, you will pay full price and then some. They do have a great pizza shop - which you can smoke in. The food is greasy and great (just sit in none smoking). There is also the Picadilly - a buffet style eatery. The food is not too bad. Try the fried okra with cheese. *warning* not for dieters - but there is a weight loss center and GNC less than 200 feet! My review - save your gas and hard earned dollars. I lived in Jacksonville for 6 years, it's a run of the mill mall, nothing special. We come back every year when we vacation on Topsail Island because we love to shop at Belk, but that's about it. It's very geared towards teenagers and young adults, which is fine. read more

This place isn't even worth the hassle of getting my 2 kids out of the car! Yeah they have added 2 stores in recent years but really how many beauty products can the average person buy and as for the book store, I prefer my kindle! The only store they had that might of interseted me they took out several years ago - A maternity shop. Their Sears is tiny, just a little square. For the size and location I would say it is decent. I've seen bigger malls with worse stores, so I can deal with this place. It's always packed and filled with Marines, which can be annoying, but really what more could you ask for in a town like this? (If you happen to be a young boot reading this, be weary. The staff on commission at this mall will pull you in and try to sell you shit you don't need with money you don't have.) For everyone else, it is nice if you know what you need and can grab it and go. Not too much for a "shopping" experience. If you have the time, go to Wilmington instead. read more

Ehhh it's a small mall for the very young. If you want your typical VS and teenage clothing stores then this is the place for you. Bad experience with the pushy annoying kiosk workers trying to peddle their garbage to you. Save yourself the heartache and shop online or drive to a bigger city. read more

I'm from Jacksonville so I'm pretty used to this mall and it's gotten a lot better over the years - still nothing special. However, I'm feeding my baby in the nursing room right now and it is so ridiculously hot even though it's really comfortable and nice throughout the rest of the mall. It's so hot in here that I keep checking to make sure she hasn't peed on me but nope, it's just my leg sweat. It's nice that there is a nursing room for those moms who don't want to risk comments from strangers but I would much rather be sitting at Chick Fil A right now. read more
