I have a few gas stations strategically scattered throughout the county cataloged in my mind, and this is one of them. The price isn't the best in town, but it's usually not too bad. It's on my beaten path... but more importantly (sometimes) is its got fuel options that a lot of gas stations don't have - "high" octane V-Power, for example... it's hard to find decent gas in this state, and the V-Power is a step above most. My Honda Civic doesn't care so much, but the outboard on my boat appreciates all the octane it can get. Diesel is good to have available too... trailer that boat right in and fill the boat and its tow vehicle at the same time! The rest of the station is pretty typical - decent Food Mart, reasonably clean... decent staff... no complaints.

I had some free time today, so I decided to go get the car washed. I usually go to the ARCO up the street, by Bradshaw. However, last time I went there, the car wash didn't work very well, so I decided to find another. All it took was a quick trip west on Kiefer to discover that this Shell station had a car wash. I went for the bait. As I was walking in, two guys were walking out, and seemed really paranoid that I was there. Why? I heard one say to the other that they should leave, because there were too many people around that looked like cops. Why were they paranoid about people who "looked like cops"? Anyway. I bought the top tier car wash, that costed about $10. As I was driving up to the front of the wash entrance, a German Shepard crosses my vehicles path. I almost hit it, but he got out of the way at the last second. Who the fuck let's their German Shepard roam around gas stations, unattended? Anyway, so I drive into the car wash, and it tells me to move in slowly, which I do. It spray my car with water for a second, and then tells me to move back, slowly, which I do. However, the machine seems to be malfunctioning, and it just stops working. So now, I have to go back in and tell the clerk. On the way in, I spot the love child of Kid Rock and Joe Dirt, who's wearing a red hoodie and red sweat pants. It's like 85 degrees outside. He's standing by the entrance, and he promptly asks me for a dollar. When I tell him no, he mutters something under his breath and gives me a dirty look. I ask him to repeat what he just said, and he declined, and scurried away. The clerk was cool, and was able to reset the machine. I got my wash, and got the hell out of there. However, when I got home, I noticed there was still streaks of dirt on my car. Will I go back there again for anything? Hard pass...

And kind of spending for the kind of car wash, but I got the job done so I can't complain and I needed what I could find. It did get my car cleaned so it did what was intended.

This Shell gas station is always busy. I think it is because it is at the corner of two major…read morestreets and next to the shopping center with a supermarket. The gas station also has a convenience store and two restaurants. It makes it even busier. Sometimes, it is a little hard to get a parking space if you want to purchase something in the store or the restaurant. The gas station itself is clean and easy to get in and out very quickly. I have filled up my tanks here many times. The area looks safe to me.

They always seem to have the fun specialty drinks, like limited edition and new flavors, and the pricing is on par with other gas station convenience stores like it. I most recently was able to find Sprite with tea, which has been a limited release, and this is actually the only spot I've ever been able to find it (though I hope I can find it at more places in the future.) The team here is always friendly and efficient, and even when the store is busy they're pretty quick with checking eveyrone out.

Be forewarned that if you purchase something from this store and pay in cash, they will…read moreintentionally short-change you, every time. They've been doing this for quite some time now. For example, if the change you are due is, let's say 62¢, they will only give you 60¢. If you say something, they will claim they did this because they are "out of pennies." If you say, "Okay, then give me a nickel instead", they will refuse. The first time this happened, I thought okay, no big deal. But then it happened again, then again, and again. Sure, a few pennies is no big deal to pretty much anyone, including me, but that's irrelevant. It's the principle of the matter. If you routinely stole from them every time you came into the store, they would eventually call the police or ban you from the store indefinitely. And yet for some reason they have no problem stealing from YOU every time you buy something from THEM. That's the thanks you get for giving them your business. Imagine the profit the store accumulates over time by doing this to every customer that pays in cash. It's obvious that's precisely what they're doing because no store could be permanently "out of pennies" and every one of their cashiers that I've dealt with there now does this. They've obviously been instructed to by the store's owner, the one reaping these profits. It's sad to think a business owner in America would consider something like this to be perfectly acceptable. Doesn't anyone have a conscience anymore?

While I have never been inside this Chevron building as yet, the exterior looks clean and well…read moremaintained. I have visited this station on several occasions during my trips back and forth to see my parents. The location is convenient and appears to be a safe place to stop for gas. Prices are competitive with most major gas stations and sometimes a few cents cheaper. Oddly, there are two islands of pumps - the one nearest and facing the station is easy to access for vehicles coming and going in either direction, but the row of pumps closer to the street is narrower and will only allow vehicles to go in one direction. If you have a large truck, motor home or anything that has a long bed or trailer hitched to the back, it may not be wise to choose this side of the pumps. Once you go through, be prepared for a sharp curve while exiting. Another concern is if your vehicle decides to stall, anyone behind you will be forced to back out or just curse at you for blocking them in! Some nice perks with this station is that they have a 7-Eleven, Burger King and the usual drive through car wash. It's always nice to have these ever popular conveniences in one location!

And this gas station sells beers. This chevron is by far the cheapest chevron gas prices I've seen, maybe it's because it's in the outskirts of watt where there is not really much. Fruitridge and watt. Whenever I need a pump from chevron I come here, especially when I drive by here periodically for nursing school in the south area of Sacramento. The bathrooms here are clean. They have a bathroom for both sexes. This location accepts cash and they also accept card payments. You can pay for the car wash inside, and grab some of the hot food that this place has ready while pumping gas.

There are no guided direction markers and/or signs, so cars are coming in any kind of direction, and this makes for a way to have an easy accident, or for people who are waiting for a pump in one direction to be upset because someone came in and swooped it from another direction.
