Such a cool shop…read more Dropped in The Hub last week after officiating a wedding (all decked out in my western wedding garb), to see if anyone could tell me about a bike I was interested in but can't find anywhere. I was lucky enough to connect with Hal (the owner), right off the bat and I can't say enough good things about him and his shop. I was excited to see that they carried Transition (out of Bellingham, WA), which brought me in the doors, and while they didn't have the specific bike I was looking for (nobody does so that's not a slight on the shop, that's just the results of COVID sales and the underground buzz surrounding this certain xc/trail--dare I say, 'downcountry' bike), Hal didn't just know the bike, it's his personal ride. For the next forty+ minutes Hal was generous enough to walk me through all the details of the bike and my plans for a semi-custom build. And while the thought of dropping 6k+ on a bike I haven't even ridden (a bike far more slack than anything I've pedaled) has been keeping me on the sidelines, Hal just so happened to have his in back and let me jump on it--cowboy boots, vest, dress shirt, tie and all--and take it for a spin to the nearest singletrack. Needless to say, Hal and The Hub blew away my expectations when I walked in the door. Unlike the 'bro' vibe that dominates so many bike shops, these guys are straight up pros. Within days of my visit to The Hub, I've received two emails from Hal, offering support, but no pressure. He clearly just wants to get people on the right bike and in the woods. He believes in his crew and the products he carries. If you're looking for a bike shop with a positive energy, knowledgable staff, friendly vibes and top-shelf customer service, The Hub is THE shop!

George and others from the shop were great and got in the weeds with my questions, such as desired tire width and air pressure. I rented a 54mm carbon ENVE road bike with high end SRAM electronic shifters, almost exactly the same as what I ride at home. Lastly, I brought my own spare tire bag and left it on the bike. I had 5 loads of wash and went here to catch up before we returned home. Most of the dryers take coins but the change machines were out of order. I saw people lose money in the machines and another person had to leave to go get change. I ended up taking my 5 heavy soaking wet loads of laundry to another laundromat to dry them. But her was what turned this review around: I emailed the business about my frustrating day and someone got back to me within a few hours and said the owner would reach out the next day. And he did! He explained that the repairman had left the business and they were having a difficult time replacing him and some of the machines were not working as expected. He was so professional and made things right. It must be difficult to run a small business these days. And it's very rare that an owner is so responsive to a complaint. I really respect this owner. I would definitely use this laundromat again. I would recommend that until they hire a new repairman being plenty of quarters and your own detergent so that you can wash and dry your clothes with out interruptions.
