I was not impress with the service, I would not trust them with my personal information, depending on the type of insurance you have, if it's consider cheap, then you'll get cheap service, but the only good thing is the attending dentist who clean my teeth and his assistant Mrs. Torres were very professional they took bite wings x-ray, both were very gentle and informative when dealing with me and when providing the services. By the way having personal pictures of yourself and what appears to be another dentist wife all over the dental office it's a Lil strange and a overkill. it's a place for professional Dental Office, not a family semi museum, also dental Office needs an overhall needs more lightning, patient records clearly in the open in the front desk, should be kept away from the main waiting area, and secured from curious eyes. read more

I have been going to this dentist's office since 2008 when we moved to Jackson Heights. I find Dr Wolfson to be thorough, patient, a good listener, and he has great chair-side manner. In the past I had a dentist who always seemed to be up-selling me more procedures and work. Here it's more of a collaborative effort. When something needed to be done he sometime presented me with multiple options. I once went in there with sore teeth, and jaw. After a few minutes conversation he figured out that I was really clenching my jaw shut. He massaged and squeezed the muscle near the back of my jaw, and that was the whole issue. Another time I had a toothache, and when I called and explained that, they asked if I come in immediately - which I did. I find them to be accommodating, when I was working they usually took whatever my insurance paid. Now that I am retired, I still find the overall prices reasonable. I still visit every 6 months for a cleaning. read more

Wouldn't go back if my dental health depended on it. Went with a cracked tooth and paid $100 for a 5-minute consultation where I was told to get it pulled, have a bridge, flipper or get braces. Didn't explain anything in detail, just drew a few sketches on a sheet of paper and said "good luck" when I left. Plus, the photos of his family and numerous exotic vacations on the wall? I've never really minded going to the dentist, but I can't say I've ever had a dentist who I actually liked, who I felt were doing just an amazing job. Until this last month. I've had great results here. First off, everyone is very friendly from the dentists to the hygienists, to the receptionists. The co-pay here for a cleaning was higher than another dentist, but that's because they did a deep cleaning, which was superfast, thorough, and left me with a much nicer smile than when I came in. They also did the most extensive x-rays of my teeth, and performed an excellent whitening filling for a good price while other dentists told me that it would cost a prohibitive $1000 even with insurance. The only drawback to coming here has been the long waits, but the fast, excellent service more than evens it all out. I like my dentists! read more

I've always struggled with insecurity about my teeth and a serious phobia of needles -- basically, I'm a dentist's worst nightmare. But my experiences with Jackson Heights Dental over the past couple of years have all been phenomenal. Dr. Wolfson is understanding, gentle, and sincere. After a cleaning, I was told that I could shave two of my teeth down to make my smile look a little more even. This was something I had deemed "ugly" about myself for years, even after braces; my front teeth were a little rounded and big for my mouth. I'd heard about shaving them down, but the people I'd known who had done that weren't pleased with it in the end. I had to inform Dr. Wolfson that I was actually losing my dental insurance the next day (after leaving my job), which is why I had scheduled that cleaning at the last minute. Even though he was booked up for the next day, he insisted on seeing me after office hours to do the procedure. This was an incredibly kind gesture, and I accepted. He shaved my teeth down with precision and made sure to ask me plenty of questions about how I wanted it to look -- it felt personal and made me feel super comfortable. I had been scared that my teeth would end up looking too small and straight, but since he knew that, he made sure not to make them look that way. Looking in the mirror after my procedure, I was astonished -- my teeth looked symmetrical, straight, and perfect. For the first time in my life, my smile looked good to me. I couldn't stop smiling and am embarrassed to say I might've teared up a little. It may seem silly, but that experience gave me much more confidence -- I used to seriously cover my mouth every time I laughed because I was embarrassed by my rounded teeth. Now I smile with my mouth open every chance I get. Thank you, Dr. Wolfson. I would recommend this dentist to anyone who wants a great experience like mine. read more

My neighborhood dentist. He is pretty good. Office is small and cramped but the staff is great. His wife is the office manager and makes me feel comfortable. Dr. Wolfson did my crown and no one can tell. It did take a while for him to finish, but that was because he's a perfectionist. read more

After moving to Jackson Heights six years ago and with much dental deliberation between then and now, my boyfriend and I have finally found our family dentist. It is such a relief to finally find a dentist that you trust, that does a good job and leaves you feeling as though you've accomplished something important - for us, Jackson Heights Dental is that. For me, I left clean and cavity free, and with a complimentary toothbrush and floss (one of my most highly rated indicators of a solid dental practice). It's a family-run affair, and the familial banter makes one feel welcome and at ease. But the sealer of the deal was my boyfriend's experience. Having had no dental insurance (until now), he had not been to a dentist since before we moved six years ago. Prior to that he had not had a good dental experience, particularly when having fillings done (the anesthesia rarely works for him). At JHD his pain was minimal, both during and after the cleaning. When it was found that he had 2 cavities (after 6 years! Never underestimate the power of brushing and flossing), JHD was able to schedule him the very next day for both of his fillings, and he had no pain during the process whatsoever. Additional note: they did not pimp the (sometimes more expensive) white fillings like several dentists I have seen. Lastly, they took care of everything with our insurance and the experience was supremely hassle free. Fantastic. Final thoughts, for the record, 1. their website indicates that they give free cleanings on Wednesdays to those with no insurance (wish we'd known before!), my civic-minded sentimentalities are in awe, and 2. When we were there, a patient arrived all the way from Brooklyn. You know it's good when someone travels from Brooklyn to Queens on a weekday for a dentist appointment. I cannot give enough praise, I would recommend this practice to anyone! read more

I have come to Jackson heights dental for two years straight, I have never been treated as poorly as I was treated today. I will report my experience to the better business bureau of NY. I have come here for dental cleaning for almost two years and have used the same insurance with no issue. Prior to my appointment today for which I took off work, no one told me the policy had changed that I had to pay in full for dental cleaning before I could be treated. This had never happened before. I believe this was racially motivated. Your website says all insurances accepted but today I was told by some lady whom I had never met before that my insurance pays them nothing and so I had to pay in full for cleaning. Additionally she told me that I would no longer be allowed to see a hygienist because my appointment time had passed. In my opinion this is not how patients should be treated and I believe this was racially motivated and I will report this because no one should be treated this way. Also the office manager told me that they no longer accept Cigna PPO however your website states all insurances accepted, it also states that you will work out payment options, the woman told me that no option will be worked out with me. I believe that if I was not a minority of African american decent that I would have been treated better. read more

Had my, my husband, and my son's appointments here today. Again, I can't say enough kind things about Dr. Wolfson and his staff. They recently added another hygienist, a young man, to their staff and he did our cleanings today. I was actually shocked because I was expecting it to have the usual pain (since I never floss enough) but he was incredibly gentle. He was very sociable and warm too, and somehow even persuaded my 3 year old son to sit in the dentist's chair today (that was as far as we got, but still a huge step!). What a nice addition to the team!! I'm a bit shocked at the recent negative review... after reading it more though, I can see it's clearly petty nonsense from a spiteful, bitter person. Her complaints are from an experience a DECADE ago and beyond, and focuses on personal, superficial attacks against the staff with no actual, legitimate complaints about the dental services they provided. What does the fact that it's a family business, with a happily married couple at the helm, have to do with anything? Judging someone by their looks and and health issues? How does that affect your dental care? Vicious and unnecessary... and clearly just someone who wants to cause vengeful damage. I'll be the first to say that all of my experiences here have been completely counter to those remarks. They have always been considerate of our costs. They're honest about the dental work we need. I've had dentists before that were like mechanics, trying to nickel and dime you out of every penny and claiming you need all sorts of work - they have never done this to me; not even once.. They worked with us when they didn't accept my companies' insurance and when I was between jobs and had no insurance. When my company actually changed to an insurance they accepted, they were honest and advised me to continue under the table work, as it would save us more money in the end (which is true - we'd have paid more in premiums over the course of the year than what we pay out of pocket now). They could have gone the insurance route and received considerably more money for their services, but they are always, always about the customer. The receptionist even set a timer on her clock to let me know when to run out and put more money in the meter, just so I wouldn't get a parking ticket once my time ran out. That's above and beyond and really going the extra mile to make the whole experience wonderful from start to finish. It is true that they have a lot of artwork and family photos around their offices. Personally I find this endearing and part of their openness and honesty. I also enjoy having something to look at rather than just lights on the ceiling! It's also a nice conversation starter when you're not stuck with your mouth open, lol. I can understand that may not be everyone's cup of tea, but considering Dr. Seth has to look at people's mouths day in and day out (which, let's be honest, must be very, very unpleasant at times depending on how bad the situation is...), I don't blame him for wanting to have something on the walls that makes him smile! read more

I do not recommend this place. Against my strong wishes, they insisted on taking many unnecessary x-rays during a routine cleaning. They also charged me $150 for the visit, even though they took my insurance. They said the x-rays were not covered. I quickly switched dentists and my current one (under the same insurance plan) has never charged me for routine x-rays; in fact, since I switched dentists, I've never had to pay a cent for my dental check-ups. The waiting room is small and was very crowded the day I went. I found Wolfson supercilious, but -- to be fair -- I saw him only that one time because of the inexplicable $150 charge for a routine check-up. read more

Seemed an OK place at first. My husband had a filling and some cleaning done. But most importantly he needed 2 root canals. Because he has a strong gag reflex they did not want to deal with it and suggested we go to a specialist. They said when we are set up with the specialist they will email my husband's x-rays. Several weeks later we were set up with the new dentist and Jackson Heights Dental asked us to pay $50 to forward the xrays. They said as a favor that was a discounted price - they normally charge $75. My husband's insurance company paid for those x-rays! I understand we all need to make a buck - but that's riduculous!
