At pickup, however, I was charged an exorbitant "flat rate" for each sewing task without any regard to how quickly the job was completed by the tailor. Staff was totally unresponsive to my complaint that it is unfair to quote a rate and not abide by it. There is another dry cleaner in town with better prices and better service.

On top of that, my cat must have been upset she wasn't invited, because a couple days after we returned home, she had a seemingly intentional accident in very close proximity to the dress. Although the dress was in a bag at the time, both the dress and the veil ended up with a slight odor to them. After that, I decided it was time to look into cleaning options. I had already been to Five Star in the past, so I used the Yelp project feature to reach out to them as well as a few other cleaners in the Sacramento area. They were very responsive and their pricing to clean and preserve the dress was very reasonable, so I decided to go with them. The turnaround time for cleaning was about a week, which is exactly what they estimated. They showed me the dress before it was boxed so I could confirm it was properly cleaned. There were no more mud stains, and the odor was completely gone! After I inspected the dress, they asked me to come back in a day or two after they had time to box it. It was wedding and prom season, so they were a little busy, and I told them I was in no rush to get the dress back. I went back a few days later and picked up a large box. There was an outer, regular, storage box and inside was a large preservation box that had a display window. It looked great! Oh, and to top it all off, I had originally only inquired about cleaning and boxing for the dress, but when I asked how much it would be to add the veil, they included it for free! Thank you!!

In fact, 3 out of 5 dresses still had deodorant marks after being cleaned. When I dropped off the dresses, the woman who placed my order specifically told me to turn them inside out so they could clearly see what needed to be cleaned. I followed those instructions, but unfortunately, it doesn't appear to have made a difference. It's really sad and frustrating to feel like you can't depend on your neighborhood cleaners to properly clean your clothes. I understand that mistakes can happen, but the results were not what I expected, especially after following the instructions I was given. I'm sharing this review because I feel my concerns should be expressed, and unfortunately, I will not be returning to Five Star Cleaners.

I took in a 6 month old new letterman's jacket (just paid $700 for it ) to clean and when I picked it up my patches and letter where destroyed and the jackets cotton fleece was also destroyed, I guess since my jacket was black and green I ran a risk of the black bleeding into my white patching which I was not talked or made aware about any problems that could happen with the jacket in which I wouldn't of left it .but we all take all our delicate clothing to dry cleaning so it can be washed properly. Now the owner was so rude but took it in for a second session . When I picked it up he had destroyed the patches and my son's school letter patches. He refused to listen and asked me to take my jacket and leave. All I needed him to do was to fix or replace my patches. It's my son's senior year coming up 2024/25 and all I wanted was for his jacket to be ready for senior pictures and his senior year. Took a dress here that needed to get altered. It was $30 for alterations which is great price. The…read morealteration was minimal as it was only adjusting shoulder straps to a bridesmaid dress. It took 4 days but since we had time it wasn't a big deal. The only reason I'm giving it 3 stars is because though the alteration was simple it was not done correctly. We only needed about an inch of the straps to be taken in and when we received it, it was as if there was no adjustments made. The workers were nice and took it back, but did mention to us that they send out all alterations to someone else so had to resend it out to their seamstress. If you have alterations that are more major and need to try on to ensure it is done and fits correctly I would go to where there is a in-house seamstress just to be on the safe side. I would go back for small alterations such as hems and do you plan on going there to get dry cleaning to give that a shot.
