I am SO EXCITED to have a great salad place in Roseville other then Plutos. It's nice to get fast, healthy and fresh food and not have to battle the mall. I've been there 3 times so far (twice for dinner and once for lunch). Each time there was a very long line, but the service was still pretty fast. I thought I'd have to wait forever, but the line moves quickly. There is some confusion about a salad line VS a sandwich/hot food line.... there is no clear cut division between where to stand and if you want both hot food and a salad I found it hard to get in both lines or maneuver through the crowd to order. That being said I LOVED the food!!! French fries: they are OK. Good but nothing to write home about. Garlic french fries: the taste was great but they were VERY greasy. The garlic topping must have been soaking in oil that they just poured on? Large/full salad: HUGE with tons and tons of lettuce. I found the amount of topping I had to be lost in my lettuce. Small/half salad: Great size and good lettuce proportion to toppings. Even if this is your dinner a small salad is plenty big (and I can eat a lot, lol). You get the same amount of toppings on the small salad (just less lettuce). Chicken strips/ tenders: My husband thought these were ok and said they tasted pre-made similarly to fast food restaurants. He expected more. I only really have 2 complaints. Number 1 issue is that you can NOT call in orders by phone for pick up. I live close and would love to order dinner and just swing in and pick it up. When I asked for a phone number to call in my order I was told, "we don't do that." Number 2 issue is that is a bit $$. For dinner the price is fine, but I can't spend $13 on lunch! I had a small salad, a small fries and a drink and it was $12 and change. The small salad is about $1 more than pluto's but you don't get bread. read more

Split the turkey berry sandwich and the urban fries. Fries were awesome and the sandwich was very good. I was Impressed that they were cutting from a whole turkey. The turkey had big roundish chunks all stuffed in the front of the sandwich. Had to take it apart and cut the chunks up. Not a huge deal. What a waste of money and time. The most dishonest place. We placed and order and realized we had placed it at the wrong site. There was a closer one. We requested that the order be cancelled and they lied and said it was already being made and could not cancel it. (We had just hung up and redialed it) so i know that was a lie. 35.00 later we received a small steak salad and the urban fries that were supposed to have extra urban sause but arrived with no sauce at all. The steak salad came with less than half the usual order and they had the nerve to charge 15.00 for it. Warning do NOT order to go with them, they are less than honest! Still love them. I've came here probably 40+ times now and I have yet to have one bad experience, and even if I did have a bad experience now it's well worth it to say that their consistency in quality, freshness, taste and customer service would only justify that it would be a one off scenario. I've been here twice so far. Love the atmosphere and the staff is super friendly and helpful. The ingredients are fresh and everything LOOKS fantastic- but the flavors sort of fall flat. I think the sauces and dressings need waaaaaaay more zip. The blue cheese is too mild, the caesar could use some anchovies and garlic and the sandwiches could use more sauce all around. I haven't given up! I will persevere until I have tried nearly everything on the menu ;) read more

Love LOVE Jack's Urban Eats. We prefer this location to others, with the large seating area and big booths. The music doesn't seem to be too loud. It can be pricey, so I save these outings for special occasions. But they never disappoint. The "build your own salad" is a favorite and we ALWAYS share a plate of Urban Fries! read more

In town on business and local co-worker and I stopped for dinner. Loved this place - lots of salads You can either select from a menu or build your own. I got the new winter harvest which was spinach and spring greens, apples, roasted sweet potatoes, beets and a vinaigrette dressing. It was delicious and made right in front of me. The portions are huge!!! They had just taken a turkey out of the roaster so I had them add a bit to the salad. It was very moist white meat. The soup of the day was a turkey chowder which typically I stay away from- too much cream base for me but when I saw it, it did not look heavy so ordered a cup as well. I ducked in here the other night. the location is out near Granite Bay. Very casual and very good. The service is fast. you can watch them as they slice and dice your food. I was there last night & the customer svc was DEPLORABLE. I noted the young staff, they really have a lot to learn. They weren't even very busy on a Sunday evening, yet NO ONE would take my order! It would have taken 45 seconds. I stood there for several minutes, waiting for them to take my order. They were all fixated on making the food for the party of four who were in front of me in line. Not able to multi-task. There were 3-4 males & one female. I walked out the door, no one tried to stop me even though they knew I was getting impatient. I drove a short distance to Pasta Pomodoro. This was my first visit at the Roseville location. The staff appear to be new or unable to work together here. Luckily the food was still good as usual. My go to dish is the Spicy Buffalo salad. I do not recommend visiting this spot if you have any time constraints. Other than that you'll get good portions of food that won't disappoint. read more

I like Jack's Urban Eats, and the whole concept of good food fast. However, this particular location just doesn't get it. I can look past the fact that they are always busy, often times with lines winding well past the front door. I can look past the fact that they charge $2.25 for a soda that should cost no more than $1.00. But the fact that they served me tri tip that I could tell had been sitting on the grill for hours and had been reduced to a pile of gristle and act like it was acceptable. To place that pile of rubber on my sandwich and charge me for it should be a crime punishable by death. That piece of meat would have been better suited for a game of handball rather than as food. read more

So we usually love Jacks. The staff at the Fountains has great customer service. Here you can order the same thing two different times and the Price will be different. My kids grilled cheese was a kids meal last time. This time they charged me like an adult meal. When I questioned it I was met with a condescending tone. So our meal of two salads with no add ons and two kids meals ended up costing $43 bucks after we got sodas. Huh? My kids meal shouldn't cost more than mine. read more

This is always my go-to spot for high quality food that I don't feel (completely) guilty about. My husband and I, as well as all of our friends, consistently go here. Especially this location. The young, up beat crew is always so sweet and the food ingredients are quality. I always get salads. And my husband switches off between different sandwiches. We always have to share urban fries (try them, you won't regret it). The meat is quality and you can see it cooked fresh in front of you. Where do I begin. We received a gift card to try this restaurant, which I had never been to before. For starters, the girl that greeted us had an attitude right from the start. I don't know about you, but front people that actually speak to customers should be friendly and courteous, no matter what! Secondly, I ordered a vegetarian sandwich and I was told that they were out of eggplant, so "we can't make that for you". Okay, possibly you have some other vegetables back there. "We have mushrooms, but they're mixed with something". Okay, mushrooms and onions are good. "Oh, we are out of the wheat bread that we normally serve the veggie sandwich on." Okay, I will have the rye bread. "we are out of Rye bread too". Okay, then what kind of bread and vegetables do you have? For the price and hassle of this sandwich she should have discounted it since it was stuffed full of spinach leaves. I just happened across this place on an internet search for a new place to eat around me and I am so glad :) The people behind the register are extremely helpful and courteous! I was greeted with a smile which is key for me. The restaurant is clean and kept that way constantly. I was only there for about 15 mins and I ordered for 4 people...WOW!! Good portions and the food was awesome! I had the Club Sandwich and Garlic Fries, which was fabulous to say the least! The only issue I had was with the salad, I got a Western BBQ Steak Salad...a little heavy on the dressing and a tad bit too spicy but it was good as far as flavor wise. I am a big fan of Jack's food. LOVE the turkey and the tri-tip. But their service needs some fine-tuning. There is a new person at the salad area. She doesn't listen... I have visited twice and both times prefaced my order with "to-go" but she asks "here or to go?" as if I never said it. Her response is rote, she is not engaging with me as a customer. I ask for dressing or meat on the side, and it throws her for a loop. Who wants hot meat on cold sald in a carryout container? She also doesn't seem to like what she's doing. Choose your salad ingredients, and you might get a lot of one item, and barely any of the next, because she's not paying attention. Worse yet, if another crew member joins her at the salad area, then they are both ducking and dodging each other while preparing orders. It's just a mess. I gave three stars because of service, but the food is defintely five-star. read more

Normally this place is awesome but right now, because it is new and the only one like this well it's similar to Pluto's by Urban Outfitters at the Galleria it's crazy. If you want to try it without the crowd go to the one in Midtown or Folsom for now, give this location a couple of months. It seems like that always happens in the beginning. Okay, loves Jack's! My son and I frequent this particular Jacks almost weekly at times. Unfortunately, tonight will be our last! We ordered/sat down and were eating our food. Normally my son orders a soda - tonight he didn't! He continued to drink water from his big water bottle because we came from practice. Anyway - at one point my son had gotten a water cup and filled it up with orange soda. He came back to the table and - I did say "You got a water cup and filled it with soda? You're not supposed to do that." We continued with dinner. There was a gentleman standing behind us talking to people and he seemed real nice. (I guarantee he heard the conversation I had with my son about the water cup) He stopped at the table next to us to speak to a couple of people and was talking to a few others. Before he walked out he back-tracked to our table, introduced himself politely and said he was the owner of the restaurant. I introduced myself and he continued with - you know we are supposed to say something when a clearly labeled water cup is filled with soda. I apologized profusely - insisted I would pay for it before we left. He then said "No please don't pay for it let this be a life lesson, your son is young. It's the 55 year old men that do it that irritates me." This whole conversation was held while he was bent down almost 1 ft away from my face - with a condescending tone. I was very embarrassed and wanted to leave immediately but we still had a significant amount of food on our plates so we continued in humility. Before we left I did pay for a soda. I was completely taken back by the situation and have felt very uneasy. I also feel he made a poor choice of words to tell me that this needs to be a life lesson. Who is he to give me a life lesson over a $2.00 soda. The guy has made more than $2.00 from us being frequent customers of his - since the restaurant has opened in that location, might I add. I do feel bad for letting my son continue to drink the soda. I did speak to him about the situation after the owner left, until he understood that we always need to do the right thing. I also went overboard and didn't let him eat the cookie he got either. Maybe I should make him write a letter to the owner and send in a copy of the receipt. ;) Needless to say I don't think my son will ever get a water cup and fill it up with soda. I love this place. One of my favorite places to eat in Roseville. Their sandwiches are like no others. I usually get the sonoma steak or BBQ tri-tip. Steak salad is also delicious. The meat is very juicy, fresh, and there's no lack in flavor. Also love their urban fries. Their staff is friendly and very laid back. Not to mention, they bring out the food very quickly. When I am looking for salad the way I make it at home, I go to Jacks. The lettuce is always fresh, all the veggies are and if you tell them light on the dressing, they actually know what that means. I do not eat meat any more but when I did, it was always good and fresh tasting as well. They actually have a good selection for those who do not eat meat as they almost always have a vegetable broth soup and there is always the macaroni and cheese. I typically for the salad then we split a cookie, which cancels out all the healthy choices we made, I know but they are so good and the Health cookies - look out. Sometimes there is a long line but there it always moves rather quickly. This location has a good size outdoor area as well. It has something for everyone in the family/group. read more

Went there for my sons football team fundraiser. Nice place and the menu looked good. Ordered our food and sat down to wait. Server brought mine and my sons sandwich and told us she'd be back with my 8 year olds chicken strips. After waiting 5 minutes I went up and asked and was told they'd be right there. 5 minutes later the server comes puts them in front of my son, puts a cash refund for the strips on the table says "theres your money" and walks off. Now cold fries suck and chicken strips at lukwarm are never good. We waited for my youngest sons food to all eat so what may have been good food warm sucked cold. I tried to call the place the next day but they don't take calls. I won't be back there. Poor service from rude teenagers is something I won't pay for. read more

I'm only complaining about the management's unprofessional behavior. The food is good. Since I could not find an email for the company I'm here on yelp. There should be comment cards in the restaurant and senior management contact info on the website. As I was eating the management team was sitting in a booth across the restaurant from me. The apparent manager was chewing out his two assistant managers on the restaurant floor and repeatedly and aggressively pointing at one of them. I do not know the nature of the problem but I know it did not belong in front of customers. Even if it were behind closed doors the behavior of the manager to me appeared to be overkill. I hadn't been to Jack's in a long time and was surprised to see the new location in Roseville. We popped in during lunch and the line was out the door! Insanely busy, but the service was surprisingly quick. They have a great selection of sandwiches and the 'Create Your Own Salad' bar is my go-to. The topping selection is pretty outstanding (think: standard veggies, jicama, cranberries, cheeses & suspiciously delicious tofu) and everything is reasonably priced. As the rest of Roseville has clearly already discovered, it's a great spot for a quick & healthy lunch! read more
