Had a car on my property early Sunday morning as I was getting ready for church. Scared the crap out of me because my house is very far back from the main road and a difficult gravel driveway. Also as a veteran , I'm very suspicious of abandoned vehicles. I called the police who thankfully arrived and made sure no one was in the car and determined it had not been reported stolen. They told me I was allowed to have it towed. I went to church, the car was still there after I returned from church. I called Jacks towing and they were great. They called to confirm and arrived ahead of schedule. Took photos. And quickly took the car off my property. I have now added a large heavy chain across my driveway. Not ideal. But maybe it will prevent this from happening again. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. My car was towed by Jack's Towing and they have refused to provide any written notice, documentation, or itemized charges -- which they are legally required to send to both the owner and the lienholder. When I called, the staff were rude, dismissive, and tried to blame the DMV for paperwork that they are responsible for sending. They are also withholding my personal property inside the vehicle, including my title and registration, and refusing to work with me even though I live out of state. No transparency, no professionalism, and completely unwilling to follow Virginia towing laws. I have already filed an official complaint with the Virginia Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division and will be pursuing legal action to get my vehicle released. THE OWNER SHOULD BE BEHIND BARS!!!! My vehicle was towed from my apartment complex for an expired inspection sticker, but I never received any warning notice on my car beforehand Which is required by law Virginia Code 46.2-1231. When I called to ask for proof, I was met with rude and defensive responses and was even accused of removing the notice myself. I paid $211 to retrieve my vehicle and still have not been provided any photo evidence or documentation showing that notice was properly placed on my car. I emailed to dispute and no response. I asked for a refund, my car inspection was the next day and if they gave me a notice I could have let my complex know not to tow my vehicle. The entire situation was stressful and handled very unprofessionally. The complex I was at, visiting a friend had EV charging stations and I tried plugging my car to one of the stations and it didn't work and the other plus was occupied. So I leave my car there in the spot (mind you there is only two spots available and they're next to each other) and I come out after hanging out with my buddy for a literal hour and my car is gone! I recently got my vehicle towed from my friend apartment. I called Jack to let them know I want to schedule another tow pick up my vehicle through my insurance. In order to release my vehicle once I pay, I have to have the tow driver there already. So I arranged to have the driver meet me at Jack's. Upon arrival, I ask them how can I pay, someone says you have to wait for a driver to pay. This was never mentioned on the phone. So my tow truck driver lets me know he can come back. About 15 mins of sitting in the parking lot someone walks out to mention that my vehicle isn't even here! But at their other location of va beach and not Norfolk. He claims he told me multiple times. Never once mentioned it the 3-4x I did call to verify information. So now I have to call my insurance and get them to change the location of my vehicle. I have a vehicle that had in ignition interlock. This vehicle has not been driven due to the interlock. In 1 day, after getting the interlock off the vehicle, it had current tags but no inspection sticker. They tagged my car. I called them and the person that answered the phone was a total jack wagon. I explained the circumstance and that I could provide all the paperwork to verify. They said that they wont hold and hung up. The stickers that they put on the cars do not have any contact info. I had to get that info from the rental office. This is a scam company that is not willing to work with anyone except to extort money. read more

To add insult to injury, they try to play you by slapping on a fake "discount" as if they're doing you a favor--when in reality, you're still paying the full amount. The staff clearly couldn't care less about transparency, fairness, or basic customer service. This is nothing but a predatory operation taking advantage of people in stressful situations. This company is a joke. I live in an apartment complex and had a resident pass, protocol says that if you are "illegally" parked (I use the term loosely because I am a resident here) that they are to tag the vehicle with a sticker on the window and give you 24 hours to move. This was never done. They towed my rental car regardless. I called them in the morning and spoke to a gentleman who told me to come pick the car up. I ubered to get the car. When I got there someone from another tow company was there to pick the vehicle up for the rental company. The guy behind the counter told me the rental company told him not to release the vehicle to me. They pretty much laughed in my face. And couldn't give me an answer on why they told me to come all the way over there. When I called the rental company they informed me that the "wonderful" people at Jack's towing lied, because they never said that. So not only did they illegally tow my vehicle, they lied about the fact that I was able to pick the vehicle up. Horrible company and horrible customer service. read more

Glorified car thieves. Towed my boyfriend's truck from my apartments parking lot for an expired pass that I was in the process of replacing but it was a weekend so the leasing office was closed. Then he called them and told him that it would be $200 to get his truck back. We get there and they charge him $381.10 because his truck was "too heavy". Contacted the owner of the apartment complex and he called Jacks to refund my boyfriend as he was in the process of replacing his pass and they still refused to refund. My car was towed from my partners apartment (Pembroke Towers in Norfolk, they are complacent and allow this to happen!!!) complex even though I had a visible parking pass hanging from my rear view mirror. When calling the lady on the phone said i could come get it from them with no charge this one time because of the mess up. When i get there I have to wait 45 minutes for someone to show up and when we walk in the office the same lady is sitting behind the desk SLEEPING on the job. The truck driver then tells me it'll be $200 so i tell him the person i talked to on the phone said they were going to waive the fee for the mess up. Thats when the lady behind the desk pokes her head up and says that she never said that and that she didn't talk to anyone on the phone. This rude, unprofessional, lazy piece of work then proceeds to get into a screaming match with me for 10 minutes lying straight to my face even though I have call records of talking to her. We get paid next to nothing in the military and now Im having to get a loan just to get my car back. the tag is expired which is why I think they towed it, but I wasn't even using it because it broke down, so I had it parked in a spot that Hamptopn Roads PPVs said that people who didn't live there could park!! I am going to start off by saying that I have never actually used this service, however, I was driving behind one of their tow trucks today so I feel completely justified writing a review for a company based solely on their driving abilities since they drive other people's vehicles around. Seems fair to me that other people should know what they are getting into before you hitch your horse(power) to their wagon. Does this company blatantly disregard other driver's safety on the road? Yes! Does this company completely ignore all traffic laws they don't feel like obeying? Yes! Does this company pay taxes on both sides of the road? Clearly, judging by his desire to drive on both sides of the center line at the same time! Did this company buy dinner for the truck in front of him? I hope so, since he sure was riding that guys rear bumper pretty hard!
