The oysters were the best in town. Plump and cooked perfectly!! Shrimp and shrimp rolls were really good too. You order online or call and then go pick up (take out only) through the window and big slide out drawer. Service is pretty fast. No ambiance unless you call standing around the door and meeting new friends . Kind of sketchy looking area. But worth it. 4 stars because of the drawer thing. Jack's Seafood is a take out only establishment now. The order is placed through a microphone and you pay through a sliding drawer. The food is cooked to order and packaged in styrofoam boxes and delivered through a large drawer. It hasn't always been like this, but since the pandemic this is the way they choose to conduct business. Regardless the food is always tasty and at the right price. I ordered large shrimp fried rice and large shrimp lo main. There are always specials posted. I often visit Jack's Seafood when I am in the area. read more

I called Jacks Seafood on September 26 around 9:50 pm ish placed an order over the phone for medium fried rice, 2 shrimp eggrolls and 3 piece tender first I will say their prices aren't the same as shown on menu. I arrived to Jacks at 9:58pm close to 10 I literally waited 10 minutes after placing my order, went to check to see what was taking a long time I was informed by employee chef burned my food. I waited 15 more minutes until my appetite vanished & I finally decided I wanted a full refund. The owner got upset because I wanted a refund and he told me that it was an automatic 5$ fee charge because the food had already been cooked who does that! now at the exact time I requested a refund they were just beginning to start over with my food to convince me that the food was already bagged and ready so that I would have to pay for it. overall I wouldn't recommend this establishment to anyone 100% bad customer services. read more

The food quality is good and consistent. I've never been there in person cause I always get it delivered but every time the food never disappoints. With a great price point, quantity, and variety of food I'm sure you can find at least one thing you like there. read more

Friendly staff once I got their attention, inside isn't very inviting or clean so I got my order to go. Staff was distracted chatting with each other and I had to get their attention to take my order. The food portions are generous but the grease is old and tastes pretty gross. If the fryer Oil was fresh, I'm sure it would be much different. They only put ketchup and a teeny lemon wedge in my to go order. No cocktail sauce or tartar sauce. Disappointing. I used to live about 3 to 5 minutes away from Jacks and it was my favorite take out spot. My favorites include the shrimp fried rice, fried catfish..and my ultimate favorite? The fried oysters! They are so good and seem to be cooked just right so that they are crunchy on the outside and warm and soft on the inside. My favorite thing about Jacks is that it has so much character. When you walk inside there are little booths and a ticket line framed with glass. You order and wait for your food. Be prepared to wait because it is a local favorite. I wouldn't suggest dining in...the parking is limited and it's more of a take out place...but that's what hole in the walls are for.. yummy secrets that you can take home. read more

Stopped through Baton Rouge to visit my boyfriend's mom before we headed off to New Orleans. My boyfriend d has been hyping this place up, and unfortunately I was NOT impressed! I ordered the 2 piece catfish with French fries. The ladies who took our order were very sweet, but the inside isn't my type that I'd want to sit down and eat. We decided to eat in the car. I was happy about how hard they fried the catfish. A lot of places you have to ask, but I actually forgot to ask this time. My disappointment was with the fish. I'm used to catfish being meaty and the pieces I got were straight skimpy. The fried hard had me so excited but once biting into the fish...all I really was eating was cornmeal. That's it ya'll. And to top it off my fries weren't even seasoned. How am I in Louisiana and y'all aren't seasoning fries? How, sis? My boyfriend says he never orders fish from them, I see why now. So I closed my box and at off his plate. He ordered the popcorn shrimp and shrimp fried rice. Overall, don't order catfish from here unless you just like thin catfish. And it's possible I could have gotten a poor batch but I highly doubt it. read more

The shrimp poboy is on point!! Plenty of shrimp on the fresh French bread, just enough condiments on it. When you bite in to it, it's delicious. It has just the seasoning on the shrimp. The price is really reasonable. Whenever I come to town, I make sure and get my poboy!!! read more

I fell in love with Jacks when my mom took me there when I was 12yrs old, I'm now over 30 and the food is still great! I prefer Jacks seafood over PF Changs on any day! The food is ALWAYS served hot and in large quantities for a very low price with a taste you can't beat. read more

Been to Jack's several times and for the price the food was ok, but the last 2 times I ordered the pork chop plate they changed the way it is prepared. There's a heavy breading on them and it's hard and falls off the meat and so much salt I couldn't eat them! The chops were way over cooked, tough and dry. Sorry I tried them a second time! Don't know if they changed cook or recipe but they are not eatable! The shrimp fried rice had no flavor and barely any shrimp, rice was also over cooked! Sadly disappointed!! read more
